Another great video, but a very sad one as well 😢 Our family has been in Dwellingup/Banksiadale/Holyoak since the very start of the Timber industry in the 1800's, and all of these areas are literally our back yard. We have grown up walking, riding, driving, paddling almost every square inch of these forests and hills since we were born, and is devastating to have witnessed the huge influx of people destroying the habitat and forcing mass road/reserve closures 😢 There's around 80% of our once unknown little haunts now permanently closed or been dug up and blocked off from any access whatsoever. I still get out along all the old trails on my mountain bike and camp out a few days or a week or two away from the thriving metropolis that it's become. I used to drive my kids out to Sandy Pool on the Fireline track on hot days after school so they could have a swim and cool down. The track used to be so small and overgrown, you had to do a 3 point turn just to get into the place, last time I was there before it was shut, there was a bloody TOYOTA Coaster bus in there and the area had been flattened beyond recognition, with rubbish and shit everywhere. Amazing that the locals can enjoy a place for over a century and look after it/keep it clean........ and now, in only a single decade, the large majority of it is all destroyed and closed off 😡
I’m hearing ya mate and it’s the self absorbed people of our world that ruin it for the rest. Soon it will all be parks and wildlife registered camps only 😢
Nice setup! Shame about the mess left behind by other inconsiderate campers (or should I say "ferals"). The South West of Western Australia is renowned for it's feral campers. When I go solo camping I always take and set up 2 camp chairs, set a large dog bowl with water (even though I don't have a dog) and leave a few spent bullet casings and shot gun cartridges lying around camp. So far never been hassled!
I went to do the fireline track in November and it was closed then as well. I wound up at Marrinup campsite. Next time if it happens again I'll head down Drivers Rd and check that spot out, it's a bit more secluded!
Cheers mate. It was the first time I put it up in the bush so I am still playing around with the tension. I’ve done a video on the set up which will drop in a few weeks 👍
If you keep heading down the river you will find more spots along the river. The track is on the left as I came out of that spot, it follows the river to Quindanning. If you go the other way along the Fawcett track towards Dwellingup then camping is not permitted.
A little input on the lavish vehicle setups and is it still camping? A lot of people don't really like camping, so maybe it's not still camping. They like to travel and see the sights or get to a fishing spot and put their feet up. Camping is just a part of what's needed to do these things, so in a bit of luxury helps. You see a lot of TH-camrs upgrading to a caravan these days.Even Jase and Simon have been carting a van around for years now. I think it's all still camping though.
Great spots along there, mate rubbish getting left is happening everywhere, people don't give a fu.. and are shit, more and more videos where their picking up other people's crap, I'm over it, people are shit Paul
Great episode mate 🤟
Cheers Shaun 👍

This looks perfect for what I’m looking for - places close to home for a one or two nighter camp. Thanks for this!
Not a problem Graham 👍

Thanks and yeah, close enough for the 1% club to travel too coz they don’t stray to far from home.
awesome camp Paul, your new setup looks great with a view like that
Cheers mate, can say I’m liking it so far 👍
Nice spot, enjoyed the vid. Commenting as I go (cos it helps the with the algo - LOL).
I think you’re onto something there 😂😂

Yeah it was pretty washed out from what I have been told. There are a few good spots along the river on that side of Driver road 👍
nice vid mate. surely the awning isn't supposed to sag that much, right?

Looks great
Cheers mate.
Is it strict areas where you have to camp there? Or can you find a little spot somewhere else if there’s shit everywhere?

Nice one Paul, I can't understand how people can do that either. Cheers Steve
Just remember that was recorded before I seen your Ram set up 😂😂😂
@@perth4b4adventures lol
Were the Potato gems frozen?
Nah just in the fridge.
Do you only need to pay for camping if you're staying in the designated camp area?
Correct however you still need to pay to enter the reserve if you don’t have a pass.
Those park passes are starting to get a bit expensive these days.
Yeah that’s why I haven’t got one this year, not sure I see the value anymore.
RAC year pass 50% off
@tonysmith9548 yeah when I was in the RAC that’s how I purchased it but I no longer am a member hence why I haven’t bothered.

Yeah we have certainly come a long way since the days of a tent, esky and air mattress that’s for sure.
I think the lady at the gate house should educate all that enter to douse their fires with water.

Yeah you’re not wrong mate.
