Oh yes! Jersey Loooooooooved Ten City!!! I don't know how many times I've seen them @ Club Zanzibar, Newark, NJ. We were always BIG on vocals & melody in Jersey and Ten City fit here hand in glove. They even came to a club in Elizabeth, NJ!!! I remember when the State Of Mind LP came out, Tony Humphries played the entire LP, just let the tracks play one after another!!! Thank you Byron for giving Jersey and Club Zanzibar its props!!!!
Love to hear from some of the legends. Was/is a major Ten City fan. Still play their music when I DJ because they made timeless music. Much respect to Byron Burke.
First off, thank you for having Byron B Rude Burke on the channel. Although it’s been documented that Ten City was basically a Byron Stingily/Marshall Jefferson movement, I’ve always wanted to hear the stories of the other members because they were there as well. I gotta say That interview went left with a plot twist I absolutely did not expect after watching the first 30 minutes, but for everything the man has been through he looks great and is in great spirits and most importantly, he speaks his mind and his truth. As always Mo, thank you for the platform and the stories.
i remeber seeing ten city at both the zanzbar and the paradiise garage and both times they killed it and then later at the shelter great band and great shows those were the days
Dayum Byron, come back to Düsseldorf to spin...and bring Tyree and Mo. @everythinghousemusicandmore Maurice, what a pleasure meeting you at the Chosen Few Picnic this year. Greetings from Düsseldorf
Great interview as always. It seems other things were going on with those brothers that’s not being talked about. The other members of the group never really talk about Bryon that much. Everything is centered around Marshal. Keep the interviews coming!
I remember finding the State of Mind album in a small Texas college town thrift store that had taxidermy. I was like what is this doing here? Someone from Chicago went to that college probably. Enjoyed listening to it. The album mastering was kind of strange though like a BBE Maximizer was used or it was EQed a certain way. The newer Ten City has a cleaner sound like electronic music these days which can be good or bad but still good songs.
B, believe it or not it’s been said that they hired (session player) David Cole (RIH) did the overdubs. Go figure - may even get a solid confirmation on that from someone like Bruce Forest. & of course Earl Young drums…
Sad to hear he went homeless for so long. I’m on the Terrorist Watch-List and made 80,000 dollars last year and still work even though job opportunities are limited. Some artist who’ve had a hit record or some success don’t want to work like it’s below them. It’s not, nobody cares. There’s a ton of work out there and skills to learn unless you’re like me so no excuses except if it’s health issues. Sorry to hear about his condition.
Many Blessings to you Byron💖🙏🏾🎶🎶💃🏽🎶🎶🙏🏾
