Because I’ve never seen a Tyree Cooper interview I found myself hanging on the man’s every word. I can’t put my finger on it but his perspective… I learned a lot about “when Chicago house ran the world” as opposed to The Tyree Cooper story. I’ve watched every video in this series and I can’t remember anyone with a recall for years and dates like this man…like a musical genius he was just rattling them off. Kudos to Tyree and Mo for the platform as always.
Peace My Brother Grand Rising… Thank you for enjoying my interview ! And I throughly enjoyed yours as well!!! Brother I’m like you , I love House Music!!!!👊🏿✌🏿👑
Tyree was the first DJ in Chicago I heard play the original Move Yo Body the first version without the vocals at the Ascot Hotel on 11th & Michigan Ave. The original is better than the version released on wax.
Thank you Tyree for your contributions to the culture. I enjoyed so much of your early work. I think my favorite is The House Family EP. I love the version of "My House Is Free" on the Jackmaster 1 compilation.
This is awesome! Tyree is still on my list of top people that I still know from back in the day. I was there running the record pool at AudioTalent/Chicago Music Pool, publishing Street Mix Magazine and doing graphics for DJ International 1986-1990 (I was a member of the pool from 1984-1991). I saw it all happen around me. ❤
Peace My Brother Larry Grand Rising… Thank you for enjoying my interview …. Real talk? I still remember us trying to make shit happen in Englewood as the music goes. But hoopin was our shit first!!! #englewood #ogdenpark #soufsydechicago
This man is a living legend. Much respect. Produced some of the most incredible acid house, to this day it sounds groundbreaking. Great interview. Thank you, cheers!
Peace Queen Grand Rising… Yoooooo!!!!! My sister!!! I know it’s been a long ass time since we’ve seen each other, and I missed you when I was in Chicago… I love you always friend….👊🏿✌🏿👑❤️❤️
Tyree Cooper is innovative in a sense that the TCX record from the very early 90s was like a precursor to the type of minimal techno Robert Hood would become famous for. It still sounded Chicago but it had that sound. He also had R Kelly doing vocals on one of his albums before he became famous. The hip house stuff had a lot of energy but did not take off nationally with much of the urban rap crowd in the US. In Texas they still played party rap like Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock or 2 Live Crew.
Correction: Mr Lee worked with R Kelly not Tyree Cooper. Fast Eddie; Mr Lee; Tyree Cooper. I get the hip-house artist confused sometimes. This is my other Email account.
Tyree Cooper, the prince of Hip House Get ready, ‘cos I’m about to turn it out Sit back, relax, and chill ‘Cos here’s somethin’ that’s so damn real With the record that’s movin’ and grooovin’ and smoothin’ To put ya in the mood an… Don’t worry ‘bout gettin’ rowdy Just dance and move your body
Great interview 💃🏽🎶🙏🏾💖🙌🏽

Great interview! What does 5A mean?
5A refers to the second track on the B side of Jesse Saunders "On & On".
th-cam.com/video/eWM29iGXBf4/w-d-xo.html
Oriental Electronics was probably the store he was talking about g about.
What song was he referring to, the "Power Plant Theme"?
Think you were referrin to Todd Mizera @ Guitar Center…
Great interview @EverythingHouseMusic&More
