What do you think about scanning bands using sounds comparing with your current SDR 7610 which has pan-adapder with waterflow? WIth SDR it is quicker and easier to find new signals but I have strong filling that we a losing some natural with SDR (eyes help). Without waterflow it is like50 years ago peoples rotating the simal knobs looking for new stations.
I would say that using SDR I can watch if the upper bands are opening or not because during this low solar activity we can see only one or two faint signals in the whole band when propagations are little bit open. That would be not possible to do with FT2000 without waterfall feature.... that was the reason why I purchased the ICOM 7610
@@OM0ET Your rig is beautiful, you aren't missing anything. Perhaps, when funds allow, investigate whether an SDR Play or similar device will work with your rig.
I don't know what's going on, but I love the sounds.
What a beautiful transceiver.
One thing I know for sure, Yaesu makes a beautiful looking rig..
Yes, fully agree with you Robert :-) The series of 1000, 2000, 3000 and 9000 are the best.
@@OM0ET whats the range on 20m band
@@markkidrov5066 what the range you mean exactly?

Yaesu FT-2000 transceiver,
one of its kind!
Blind and analog hamradio. Turning a VFO knob. Paul, try SDR, you won't regret it. Best 73 from HB9 😉
Peter Eichhorn yes i know Peter. I had a chance to try IC-7300. SDR is very good but no money for it. :)
