You guys ever check out this clip of a news reporter in Oregon asking a couple joggers why they're out running while it's snowing. They're like "oh it's a perfect time to be out jogging. " and then slip right after that
When I was a kid my mom and I were walking down this very long, very steep hill and she slipped on the ice and went down. The problem was she kept going. She slid through two intersections (luckily there were no cars) before stopping up against the curb. I carefully chased behind her but, being a kid, I was laughing hysterically the entire time. She was pretty bruised up but we still talk about it 40 years later.
My favourite videos ever people slipping on Ice. Just came across your channel other day and binge watched loads of videos over the weekend. Great group of guys and funny reactions.
The clip @8:08 is from a car dealership near where I live in White Bear, Minnesota. The Bear has been their Mascot for years and some funny stuff has happened unintentionally in their TV ads. P.S. That's Goldie the Gopher next to him the Mascot for the University of Minnesota.
There’s a video of a dad waiting to pick up his daughter at school and there is a patch of ice on the street corner where a ton of kids eat it and the dad can’t stop laughing. You should look that one up lol
When I was living in Alaska, 2002 was the first and only time that the city of Anchorage was shut down due to snow, 27" in most parts of the city, but the crews had the main streets cleared in a couple of hours...but 22-28 inches of snow in 24 hours and then the very next day, the winds shifted from the winter route and started coming up from Hawaii to raise the late afternoon temperatures just above freezing and they stopped after sunset to turn 24 inches of snow into 13 inches of ice all over the city lol
I'm from Alaska. Here we have a special shop that sells studded shoes. I took it a step further and found a way to stud my own shoes. Similar to bug grips. You'd be surprised how many broken bones you could save with a lighter and a bunch of shrapnel.
The best thing I ever wore on ice were these huge felted wool socks that slipped over my shoes. I could run on ice and not slip. An elderly French lady gave them to me. She said her mother knitted them for all her kids because they were too poor to afford boots (post war). They’re amazingly effective.
I was born and bred mid atlantic east coast US area and my kids are born in FL. Took them a while back for their first ice skating experience. My oldest was over it in less than an hour 😂 poor kid. Lots of encouragement but more bruises from the falls. They even had the walkers to help beginning skaters. I grew up with an ice skating rink across the street from me so it's something I'm used to I guess.
It's so fun to watch but man it brings back memories of when I nearly broke a limb slipping on ice. That shit hurts lol. I was working at a riding school, we'd had about 3 feet of snow and we had some stupid freezing rain despite the ground temp being well below freezing. Washed all the snow away and turned a very not flat place into a goddamn ice rink.... and I can't skate. Pair that with I was working nights, and the afternoon staff hadn't checked buckets before they left while I was prepping lesson horses. We always do bucket checks when it's weather like that because automatic water feeders tend to freeze. Wasn't happy as both yard taps were ALSO frozen solid, so it took me 2 hours to cart enough water for 70 horses and ponies. I slipped 3 times and got doused in cold water. Had a bunch of nasty bruises and skinned a couple of joints. lol
We are expecting a snowstorm in NYC area, I will make sure to try to keep myself from slipping on ice, but if I do I will send you my security cam footage... it happens all the damn time lol.
Falling on ice is one of the leading causes of broken bones in the winter, and not a laughing matter. That school where all the kids were slipping around should have put down some chemicals to break up the ice and provide some traction. It's different when you're goofing around and fall, but for someone just trying to walk across a street, especially for an older person, ice is very dangerous.
my new favorite reaction channel - love ya guys from an old 64-year old ex-office bloke - I many have not just heard yet, but what do you all do for livings? Thanks always for just the best stuff!
Even knowing the outcome, I laughed at myself slipping on ice 2 years ago. Would have been an almost perfect back bump in wrestling, but my elbow hit the edge of the sidewalk and looked like a pez dispenser in the x-ray. Now I mentally can't even come close to walking on ice, but I still laugh at the initial fall. Funny thing is it didn't even hurt until half way to the hospital. I just knew there was a gap inside my arm where there shouldn't be one and EMS even questioned me about wanting to go without even touching the area.
You: "Just walk on the grass..." Yeah, you'd be surprised how many people aren't "grass" smart :P Also, if you KNOW you are going to walk outside where there is slippery ice, put a sock over each shoe... call it a day!
Or, ya know, have a pair of spiked shoes. The times we have conditions in Belgium to cause it to be that slippery are years if not decades in between these days. Doesn't change that I've had a pair of spiked shoes around forever.
@@enlightendbel Yeah you are not wrong and are definitely prepared. I was just using the socks as a last resort or if you are traveling and don't have every pair of shoes for each condition with you lol.
The year before last the sidewalks were salted but the alleys weren't. The garbage men had to help me cross the alley as it was so grooved and slick. Once you break bones falling on ice you become extra cautious. Thanks to Chicago Streets and San.
The bad music comes on for the ones that don't have audio, they are all from cctv and dash cams and security cameras and stuff. So the music is just a backing sound.
If you did not know, most people do not, many of these compilation and fail channels use botting programs to search the whole web or selected websites to find popular videos or clips for the editor. You can even make programs to have bots create the whole video for you and have an automated upload process of compilations. Channels can also be paying people to make these videos for them. A few larger channels have been outed for hiring people in other countries paying them near to nothing if not people from Fiverr. These people are sent videos or clips to stitch together into a video if not told to do everything themselves. These are all reason why some compilations from the same channel will have the same clips in them. The main reason will be bots pulling what is popular at the time. As for the music, it could be what the bots are picking, what some random person in another country is picking, or its likely music from the TH-cam list to cover up copyrighted music in the video. Someone released one of these botting programs on GitHub made to search Twitch for clips. This upset many of the large channels that would post daily top view twitch clips, because they paid money to use such a bot. This is also why there are so many Twitch clip TH-cam channels now.
the music on this vid was timed to well to falls. so even if someone passed on the work, it wasn't a bot that timed the beat drop with the dude drop lol.
All I can think is for most of these ice victims, they WILL feel the damage in their later years! I know I am dealing with all my accidents over the years. Falling off shale rock slide 100 feet down onto a glacier, sliding off a roof that I had just hot tarred (just like ice!), getting knocked off my bicycle going downhill at 40mph by a motor home in Death Valley landing on my coccyx (no, they didn’t stop). All those I’m paying for now 50 yrs later.
You guys need to do a good scorpion fail compilation. A scorpion is when someone faceplants and their feet curl up behind their ears like a scorpion tail.
I can understand the older people but like WTF why do so many of these kids not know to turn the phone sideways when filming a video. Sigh I guess TikTok, IG, Snapchat, etc has Fed up that generation too when it comes to recording video with a phone.

I went to Navy boot camp in northern Illinois in the middle of winter. It was entertaining seeing the guys from Florida sliding everywhere.

This stuff will never not be funny. I've injured myself on ice before but it still looks funny to everyone else

Last winter, my area got hit with a freezing rain storm that covered everything with a half inch of ice. Yes, I had to go out in it. Yes, I fell.

Someone sees someone else falling and they just go ahead and walk in the same spot. Of course, most of these are intentional.
