Agreed! Amazing place to visit, and some of the surrounding towns are less busy but equally beautiful!

We’re headed to Norway in August and I’m debating if Geiranger is worth the trouble considering how touristy and crowded it is. I mean there are great scenic overlooks and fjords everywhere, so, is this one really worth the trouble?

The skywalk and surrounding viewpoints are nice and not that crowded. The middle of town is only worthwhile if you would like to walk along the waterfall walk, which will only take 30 min. I wouldn't stay there overnight again and just stay nearby for half the cost.... The kayaking is amazing though if you have the time to spare and the energy :-)

I’m here now. Definitely worth the overnight stay. We’re staying two nights to do some kayaking, a cruise, some hikes and just hang out.

Was there last week. There are other fjords but this is the mother of them all. You have to go. If you are driving out, take the car ferry to Hjellskyt (spelling off ). Get to Lovaten and Olden for the lakes and glaciers there. They are near the town of Stryn, about 1.5 hrs from Geiranger.

Has a very industrialised feel at the waterfront with a three ships a day pouring people into the town....

All footage was taken in July. Weather was up and down at this time of year but got lucky on this day :-)

You’re welcome. We were saying it wrong the entire time we were there until one of the locals told us.
