East Africa is seeing its worst drought in 40 years. In areas like Marsabit, in Northern Kenya, the pasture dried months ago and many families lost their livestock. For rural and pastoralist communities, this means that they cannot produce food or make an income.
Many people like Talaso want to secure a future for their children and are working on solutions. Local church organisations have been working in the remotest areas helping communities build their resources and prepare for these shocks, enabling children to stay in school and families to feed themselves.
