Marsabit County

For a region that had remained desolate since independence, the new system of governance is a breath of fresh air. People of the new Marsabit County that brings together 4 constituencies in Kenya's northern frontier are relieved that finally, the power to decide on how resources will be used to develop the area is now in their hands. Sylvia Chebet toured the vast county where people are still thirsting for water, roads, hospitals, and security in an area that boasts of potential oil fields and little known tourist spots.
