Others have stated it was written by Bobby Macleod of the Isle of Mull in Scotland. I can understand some people thinking it is Irish, because it has that sound to it. Anyway, good tunes are always passed around and the key can get changed in the process.

I'm so used to hearing this in Cape Breton style, it's almost a different tune when you play it. One of my absolute favourites, though.
