people are different... people have different ways of dealing with things. Especially as artists, making a song might have just been a closure. ALso Japanese culture is heavy on moderation of show of feelings especially for men... indeed a smile but I don;t think it's wise to assume just by appearances.. indeed that might be Ruki's strength, to creatively let it out and still be strong enough to smile.
This video should put an end to the rumors about this song being about Ruki's dead girlfriend. If that were true, why would they be smiling, laughing and joking - including Ruki?
