I’m pretty sure it’s going to broadway at some point. The musical had a worldpremiere in Denmark earlier this year and it was recieved fantasticly. There were an american production invovled so that it could run in america quickly (the musicals in denmark only get one or two seasons because we don’t have a lot of big stages to perform on)
We need a filmed version of this or a broadway transfer or a cast recording. It’s time we see this show on Broadway because it’s a truly amazing story and has some of the best music I’ve ever heard.
Steven Spielberg should have made this into a film instead wasting time on West Side Story. This would have been a far more personal musical for him to tackle.
Somebody finally did it. SOMEBODY FINALLY DID A STAGE ADAPTATION!!!!! Man, if I lived anywhere near Utah, I'd have bought a ticket this instance. Please make this available for online viewing!!!
This staging looks so much better than the one that is currently at the Dominion Theatre on the West End - apparently, the burning bush isn't even on fire in the West End production.
Seeing this compared to the West End production is just stunning. Diversity, gorgeous set, costuming that just looks right (I don’t know about historical accuracy but it just feels like the film), and acting that truly reflects the status of these characters. Beautiful.
Yeah, Historical accuracy with scripture certainly isn't nearly as important as making sure the races don't match the actual history. Got it. Very frightening the priorities of this world. Thank you for bringing them front and center
I loved the movie now it’ll be a play!? Omg!! I’m not religious at all but growing up when I got home from being bullied all day at school to a verbally abusive household, I’d pop this movie in when I was at my very lowest and it’s always made me feel better. I’d really like to see the play of it :) could be promising
It definitely has potential! I do hope you'd take a look at the Bible. Jesus came to save us lowly sinners and take us to heaven - you, and me, and every other person on this planet. God is here to save us when we're broken on the ground, so we can reach up, because He already rose. God bless :)
The Patriotic Romper Took a look at the Bible, I’d rather not worship a god that sent bears to kill 42 children because they called a man “baldy” (2 Kings 2:23-24). Or allowed ANYTHING in the book of Leviticus (seriously, a man was stoned to death for gathering firewood on Sunday). Some forgiving god.
How to Train Your Dragon Actually did have a live show. It wasn’t a musical. It was an arena show kinda like Disney on Ice and it included a massive Toothless animatronic.
The West End version is a much more stripped down, intimate production and it worked wonderfully. This looks like a Broadway level production and this looks just as compelling and beautiful. It’s always amazing seeing the multiple versions and interpretations a production goes through and this looks like a spectacle to behold. I just love this show and seeing it be developed over the years has been fantastic!
Oh my gosh if this becomes a broadway show I so gotta see it. Hopefully it will go to the UK as well in the west end. I'd love to see this it looks beautiful.
With the new London production coming out, I'm scared I'll never get to see this version of the musical. It looks so beautifully creative and different from anything else on Broadway
Omg The Prince of Egypt is a classic! It’s prolly one of my all time favorite animated films! I cried as a little kid watching all those years ago and I am crying now just watching this little bit of the musical! ❤️😭👏🏼
DALE HOPSON Not when it is released after the production. Also, it gives the chance to reach a larger audience. An audience who are not able to see it live like me.
Tuacahn hasn't made a DVD of any of the performances there as far as I know. They're a not for profit organization, so I don't think they'd be able to afford the rights to do that without a generous donation.
This looks SOOO much better, than the upcoming Broadway production. The costumes, in particular, look more accurate to the time-period, and they don't shy away nearly as much from the darkness and violence. (8/6/2021)
about two weeks ago I was reading The Prince of Egypt wikipedia page and found out it was getting a musical version!! then this appeared on my recommended just now. I wanna see The Plagues staged and everything aaaahh :D
It has actually been a musical for over half a year now. We had a world premiere in Denmark (both in danish and in english) with broadway Jason Gotay as Ramses. I saw it with my school and it was amazing 😁

An actual Broadway show is coming soon, but it is not this one. It is a new one developed by Philip LaZebnik, Stephen Schwartz, Danish Fredericia Teater and TheatreWorks in Silicon Valley, and it is currently playing in a new redesigned version at the Danish Royal Theater. It is amazing. But it has some differences from the movie.
I believe many of these actors are from New York. Tuacahn puts on Broadway plays.I watched this play and they did an excellent job! So worth the 1200 mile drive to watch it!
Unfortunately, that is the only big ticket missing. Hotep sort of starts chanting the god’s names just before the plagues but otherwise, you won’t be disappointed. The plagues is for me the highlight of the play. In the video you can see it a little but they shoot little fire balls onto the stage to explode. Also, at the end, they actually flood the stage with water to wash away the soldiers. Losing Playing with the Big Boys is a small price to pay for the perfection that is this play.
Sadly no my boys don't get their song, they decided to get rid of Huy for the play yet keep in Hotep [which was a pretty stupid idea in my opinion] and they also made him one of the main villains in the story from what I've read. Hopefully if it ever gets to broadway they'll put Long Nose back in and possibly Playing with the Big Boys, but I don't think it i will happen
Crazy_Panda_87 Tuacahn’s productions have the best water effects 🤩 I saw their opening for The Little Mermaid when they had Eric’s ship actually sailing on water and I just about lost it! I’m glad they’re using it for this one as well
I know that the chances I have to get to see this live are slim to none, but I'm so excited for this!! I hope there will be a DVD release of this soon!

I emailed the company asking if they'd sell DVDs or something, but got no reply.

Steven Spielberg should have made this into a film instead wasting time on West Side Story. This would have been a far more personal musical for him to tackle.

Ramses is black. Moses is not.
Moses: Mother, am I adopted?
Tuya: What would lead you to think that, dear?
Moses: Oh... nothing...

Saw it last week! Amazing production!
This staging looks so much better than the one that is currently at the Dominion Theatre on the West End - apparently, the burning bush isn't even on fire in the West End production.
The only reason this staging was able to do fire is bc tuahcan is outside. Actual fire in theaters is no joke
