I have hallucinations when my PTSD gets severe and sometimes I'm scared, sometimes I'm not. I think part of the reason is because the brain doesn't always fear something that it makes. Our brains can not comprehend too many things at once. I think that's probably why the phone trick works, it can't see what it's making through something else 🤔

My therapist thinks my hallucinations are PTSD related. I sometimes am afraid of the halluniations at night. However recently I think I am more worried that I have the hallucinations more than anything and maybe the stress from the worry makes its that much worse so it's an endless cycle.

When I’m having intrusive thoughts, I find myself shushing them or telling them to shut up as well. Fortunately, it does help slow or stop the thoughts. Even if I have to do it a few times

Thank you for your transparency and honesty
My daughter started experiencing psychosis after becoming addicted to medical marijuana last year and she’s been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and also cannabinoid induced psychosis. The cannabinoid induced psychosis is temporary but many times it will “convert” just schizophrenia… She’s in denial right now and I’m just trying to understand what it is she’s experiencing because she doesn’t wanna take her meds , she wants to work and go to school and keep herself busy because when she’s bored she tends to have more struggle.
Thank you for putting this content out there. You’re truly an amazing human.

Kody it's so much appreciated that you share it with us. I can't even begin to imagine how tough it is to deal with it. I suffer from GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) and SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder), and it really does seem to me like nothing in comparison with what you have. I know that each of us has our own struggles, and we need to take care of ourselves whatever a struggle is.
Thank you so much for sharing!
    Huge love ☺

My cousin has schizophrenia and your videos help me understand how it is to deal with such a thing, I’m glad you know ways to cope with it and such.
I have a question and I understand if you may not want to answer
My cousin walks around all day talking from multiple perceptives of multiple people, mainly fictional characters from tv shows, is this a common thing and why is it all day? There’s never a moment where she isn’t doing this, also every day it’s the same 5 minute conversations over and over and over again and it’s concerning to me.
Once again, I understand if you don’t want to answer this.

Do you ever have audio hallucinations where they're not really interacting with you? Like maybe where it sounds like two people talking to each other like on a talk radio?

  • @Chucanelli

Around 5:50 Damn dude, I have those thoughts, but physically hearing them as hallucinations would make it so much worse 😅
I’ve heard voices exactly 3 times, and it was a weird experience where it was physically/aurally outside if my head, but it wasn’t quite like listening to an actual person talking in the same room. It was inside my head and outside of it at the same time. Very odd experience. It was like being gripped by a dream while awake, for just a few seconds.

I don't have schizophrenia but I have chronic migraines and there have been times where I've had an intractable migraine that lasted for days on end and made me go days with minimal sleep and that lack of sleep made me start hallucinating. The worst was 6 days with only 4 hours across those 6 days. I finally went to the ER when I hallucinated a white SUV barrelling toward me and I swerved out of the way and nearly crashed my own vehicle to avoid it and my infant daughter was in the back seat. I got her to her daycare, called my husband to let him know where I was and checked myself into the ER and they contacted my primary care physician. That was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me. So I sympathize with you and I'm so thankful I don't deal with these regularly.

I am curious about you not remembering the conversations with the hallucinations after. Is it because the chat is usually mundane/not important to be memorable or is it more of a symptom of the experience/diagnosis?
Thanks! I always appreciate your videos. I have 2 cousins who have varying levels of delusion and hearing voices etc so I am trying to be more knowledgeable about schizophrenia in general.

I'm new to your channel so not sure if you've answered this before but getting to the point where you realize the person you're talking to may be a hallucination, does that take practice? Does medicine help with this? I vote for part 2.
Also, thank you so much for sharing your world, I look forward to learning more.

Have you ever thought that these hallucinations can still be real and you see things that others can't see when there is a chemical imbalance in the brain? Like those who take DMT, for example, and meet all kinds of beings, and when they return from the experience they say that it seemed more real to them than in real life. And those with tourette could come into contact with such entities, which in fact may exist but most people do not perceive them due to the fact that they have limited the sensory capacity of the surrounding world to only the 5 senses.

You also hear voices? And do you feel a presence in you? I mean, that you feel, that someone else is in your body?
Probably you will not believe me, but my son who is 13 years old, can see spirits, good ones and bad ones.
The good spirits are bright, because they are connected to the light.
The bad spirits are shadow people, and they can go into people's bodies, and let them hear voices or see things.
My son helped already some people, and they don't hear voices again.
Mostly the voices are telling people to do bad things ( suicide or murder ), and the reason is, that you will join the shadow people too, because bad people who die, will not go to the light ( my son told me that ).
Most people who hear voices were depressed or on drug when it started.

This is an incredibly unhelpful and irresponsible comment to send to a person with schizophrenia.
It’s a mental illness, sufferers may be dealing with an impaired ability to tell what is real and what is not, and you could be worsening delusions by implying their hallucinations are real demons.
Please never do this again, it is dangerous and harmful.

    • @Moomi_Is_Us

That’s such a terrible thing to say under a video about a real disorder omg. The video is meant to bring awareness and you’re over here talking about spirits and demons as if that’s even remotely the same thing… and you also might want to get ur kid checked by a professional..
