beatnix99 ha! Wow you found me on the internet. Thanks! Feel free to tweet at us (@thekpopcast) on any constructive suggestions you have for the show or ideas for episodes.
18:04 my main problem with kpop! there’s little to no authenticity with the songs or concepts, like all that gets chosen for the idol/group and they have to just go with it. i think if the idols got involved with what they’re putting out there people would enjoy it more. kpop is on another level of mass production. it’s so manufactured.
I'm read some staff say now companies are more careful because there are cameras everywhere. We will truly never know how much artists suffered decades ago :(
Oh my gosh my heart is hurting, all those 2nd gen idols who started training at 10-14 getting abused physically or verbally makes me sick. And imagine going through all that work and abuse and not being popular at all 😭
Gracie, I recommend you to buy mics for these type of videos that way we can hear you and your guest clearer and the background noise will be lower. :). But that aside, that food looks delicious!!! And she sounds so sweet
Thank you for this, sincerely. I feel like the k-pop phenomena creates this illusion that you train, debut, become famous and live your best life and live amongst celebrities but there's sooo much more to it than that. At the end of the days these companies are still businesses, and k-pop is still an industry, involving high competition and constant flow and flux of artists. It's really nice seeing a past trainee and member unfiltered (as they be without getting sued or backlash); it gives a more clear perspective on what k-pop tries to hide from their audiences. Hope to see you guys collaborate again soon!
Seeing Soobean spilling the truth about being part of a kpop group just reminded me of that boy group member who beat the shit out of his own bandmate!

I never thought I could watch a 20 minute interview, but you've found a way to make this so interesting and fun to watch! Also y'all made me so hungry!
I like this style of interviewing. Having a good conversation is just enjoyable, even for the audience. Was really cool to see how open you were about the issues in the idol scene. I guess people forget, or disregard, that behind all the smoke and mirrors, what you have is a job. Unlike other jobs, though, someone else can't really sub in for you, because you are the product. That's kinda good and bad, I guess. Being a performer doesn't really pay that well either, unless you are in the 1%. Most musicians and actors in the West often have to have other jobs, just to pay rent, and whatever they make from their art more or less covers the expenses. In Korea, it seems the whole scene is a lot more industrialized, but I'm willing to bet the end result is about the same for the artists. As a consumer and fan, I guess the best thing you can do is support with your wallet, when you can. And, ironic as it is, don't put idols on a pedestal. They are regular people with a really weird job, and they work really hard. Just show the common courtesy, don't be an arse on the internet, and if you ever do get to see them in person, give them space to breathe.
When she talked about idols having to check their contracts beforehand I felt it ..cause my fav is in a conflict with his company because of his contract rn TT I hope all idols are careful with that because its really really important

I would guess it's very unlikely. Honestly? It's possible there are idols we have never seen in their own clothes. Not at airports, not in dance practice, nothing. It's all arranged
winner slaying my life no I think it began as a way of showing that off and then it became such a big ‘trend’ that companies were like oh shit we should probably control that too lmao (not saying that there aren’t idols that dress themselves up but there’s definitely some input from stylists going on)
Honestly I’m always worried about kpop idols because of what happens behind closed doors. I wish kpop would be a bit more like western media and not hide much but ofc because Korea is conservative things like that won’t happen. I just get worried about liking an idol and then feeling disappointed once I hear about their attitudes or things they’ve been doing behind closed doors 😞

this helps me to know how the industry actually is because ill love to become a kpop idol its one a of my dreams and goals. ive auditions for yg, sm, jyp, and pledis (online tho) and idk to what other companies auditions if you have recommendations pls tell me I hope my dream comes true one day
i know i'm not grace but i would highly suggest sm or jyp because you're basically guaranteed fame if you debut in one of their groups. most of the groups from 2nd tier companies (cube, pledis, starship etc) are struggling to do well. so it's better to spend years training at a company that you know will give you fame when you debut.
Holy cow that's a lot of Hanwoo! i've heard people say it's better than Wagyu! must have been super pricey :O Loved the video, it's cool hearing someone talk more openly about the behind the scenes aspect of kpop.

I would guess it's very unlikely. Honestly? It's possible there are idols we have never seen in their own clothes. Not at airports, not in dance practice, nothing. It's all arranged
@@Catz1a i think their airport fashion shows how they really dress themselves up.
not all but i know mamamoo does
winner slaying my life no I think it began as a way of showing that off and then it became such a big ‘trend’ that companies were like oh shit we should probably control that too lmao (not saying that there aren’t idols that dress themselves up but there’s definitely some input from stylists going on)
Honestly I’m always worried about kpop idols because of what happens behind closed doors. I wish kpop would be a bit more like western media and not hide much but ofc because Korea is conservative things like that won’t happen. I just get worried about liking an idol and then feeling disappointed once I hear about their attitudes or things they’ve been doing behind closed doors 😞
Omg grace looks so good in this video:) she always looks good of course, but its very nice getting to see her from all of these angles i love it
Who’s your profile pic? Just curious haha
This is shot and edited really well. A++ video.
omg i didn't know that you two know each other like both of you are my favorite korean youtubers. thanks for this very insightful and no holds barred video about kpop. as always, you two serve the hottest tea ever. more collabs please! 😍❤

lots of love from germany🇩🇪❤
Yasmine Chigri what scandal
She has already said that she doesn't know anything about it.
neal00 i meant generally like what its about not the details
@@kc8724 its about jidam saying that she and daniel had a "thing"
Was she with Jessi?
Tina, I can't believe you lost the opportunity to hang out with someone from N.Flying uh ahhaah
At first i thought u were so arrogant, but then i realized that u are so friendly and lovely. Love u Grace😘
Gosh, I really enjoy it so much to watch videos of you and other trainees/ idols/ ex-idols where you talk about things like this! So relaxing !
this helps me to know how the industry actually is because ill love to become a kpop idol its one a of my dreams and goals. ive auditions for yg, sm, jyp, and pledis (online tho) and idk to what other companies auditions if you have recommendations pls tell me I hope my dream comes true one day
i know i'm not grace but i would highly suggest sm or jyp because you're basically guaranteed fame if you debut in one of their groups. most of the groups from 2nd tier companies (cube, pledis, starship etc) are struggling to do well. so it's better to spend years training at a company that you know will give you fame when you debut.
Just don't go to TS
I dont think a non korean/east asian has much chance of being more than a backup dancer in such a harsh industry honestly

Grace you need to be an MC or interviewer. You are so good at it.
yasss we need the teaaaa
Yaaaaas
Holy cow that's a lot of Hanwoo! i've heard people say it's better than Wagyu! must have been super pricey :O
Loved the video, it's cool hearing someone talk more openly about the behind the scenes aspect of kpop.
please talk about how female idols deal with their periods! no one ever talks about it im so curious
jawhwaa k me too!! like that’s such a mystery
Probably stopped getting them from being so skinny or stressed.
tina has a video on that
Honestly tho, before Grace had a yt channel, I was kinda intimidated by her because of her fierceness in Unpretty Rapstar. But here, I just love watching how cute she is and how down to earth she is. Aaahhhh.
who set their reminder? 🙋♀️🙋♀️
OMYGODDD QUEEN NOTICED ME SHSJWKSHD 😫😫😫 I can finally rest in peace ☁️😇☁️
Ommmmmg I just love watching you doing vlogs: you're hilarious and so so sooooooo down-to-earth. Keep up the great work! Looking forward to more new videos in the future.
P.S. You should do more of K-pop insider videos, all those myth-busting that working in the K-pop industry is not as glamorous as it seems are so interesting (at least to me).
Yasssss we ready for some tea
Pfft, I'm ready for some hot cocoa
grace you have such a talent for doing interviews, you make the other person feel really comfortable and they talk so easily
these insider interviews are amazing
When you wanna watch but it goes live at 2 in for morning
Same yet i'm watching at 3 am fhfhvu
Im so proud of both of you, you have put aside the bad/good experiences lived while being a trainee or an idol. I would totally support if you made your own company and put in all the things you learned from experience, that would be a group i stanned💕👏🏼
Spill the tea sis
The epic crossover we’ve all been waiting for 🙌🏼
Wow♥..........one question that keeps hitting me.......

"I wanna get married"
*chokes*
Oh my god same. I keep seeing people who I went to school with getting married but it feels so far away for me, like the idea of getting married doesn't even cross my mind yet lmaoo
Ppl: “Infinity War is the best crossover off all time”
Grazy: *zips tea* makes a video with Tina*
Grace's reaction to Tina saying she wants to get married is me everytime someone says that
Grace : what do you want to do in the next 5 years?
Subin: I want to get married.
Grace: *chokes*
I cant😂😂
AHHH SO CLOSE TO BEING PREMIRED!!
She hit Grace with that 5 year plan talk, lol.
Yet again, thank you Grace eonnie for being really open, and to Coco-ssi too. Grace eonnie, you are double (or more) the attentive and from how you share, you are not biased. Coco-ssi, you too are open and straight to details. Bless you all.
When Christine said she wanted to get married, it hit me- i think she would make an amazing mother and wife. She has the vibe Lol.
omg what if the member from n.flying was kwangjin because his most recent scandal kind of portrayed him as a playboy
Yayyyy she knows The Boyz LoL I love them 😂 well I really enjoyed this video thank you very much
when you came to hear some tea but you're getting hungry instead :')
Soobeanie straight up savage lmao!!!
Not scary like...... Maybe like 2:36 hhhuuhh
