I'd assume it's just a special ability which that "barbarian king" possess. Like something about it magically prevents the person from blocking the attack, and because he's a big muscular beast, he's just able to one-shot them with that opening.

@@user-gv6pi4do9cThe way I see it, it's just part of his "barbarian" traditions/religion. He's simply a very powerful puncher, but he isn't allowed to use violence unless people look at the symbol. This only applies to him because King Phillip doesn't share his traditions.
I like how around 1:30 the AI really can't decide what kind of pendant the king is wearing so it just changes every frame. Truly a powerful piece of magical jewelry.

I felt this was AI generated when some of the sleeve belts suddenly disappeared and reappeared during the barbarian scene. Oof looks good I suppose but just feels subpar for some reason.

The power of animation is consistency, AI is all over the place, that's why it has such an uncanny value. You can tell it's artificial, that's why it's not an impressive piece of animation, but weird looking crap.
I love how rock, paper, scissors is the noblemans game where as the circle game is that of the honorless scoundrel.

The " Got em" idea was pure GOLD! Genius to bring other classic games with hands into the fold. But to blast the queen with that haymaker made me UGLY LAUGH so damn loud.
The perfect sequel: More character backstory, an expansion of the lore, and a great new antagonist. You guys are really crushing it with this series.

I have a feeling in Ep-3, Jules takes over the Barbarians as their King, since Gotoh is now captured. He challenges King Philip to a battle of ROCK, PAPER, CROSSBLADES.
But instead of throwing rock, paper or crossblades, Jules throws the SYMBOL OF DEATH, forcing Philip to look and...

That's actually kinda nice.
Plot Twist: Philip knows about the barbarian tradition now so he knows what to expect when he sees the symbol, and since SYMBOL OF DEATH isn't a recognized Holy Combat stratagem, by the rules Jules hasn't made his official RPCB move... until he begins to punch towards Philip with his closed fist. Philip holds up his empty hand and declares victory revealing that his paper beats Jules' rock.
Fuckin stunning
Ep 4 could be another nation invading which uses the 'two for flinching' fighting style and is about to conquer them. Philip then has to reach out to his brother and unite to save the kingdom. Jules could gave had a whole training montage and learned to surpass the 'rules of the game' and started to combine fighting styles. It could end with jules combining the Barbarian King's symbol of death with the attacking nations own two for flinching into a devastating counterattack. At the end, the brothers learn that the king always wanted the brothers to work together as co-rulers rather than enemies

This is overall a very big step up from episode one both in length and plot expansion.
Is it just me or has dynamic plot progression advanced tooth and nail, beyond anything imagined heretofore and elsewise?! My experience, thorough as it may be, has never prepared me for this undeniable level of intensity strung across the wild extremes of the heavens!

Man when Sam came in hitting everyone with the gottem I audibly said “he’s too powerful” and continued to not stop laughing for the rest of this episode. This was so fuckin sick. I know Sam said that the concept is silly but I think it’s awesome. You guys never cease to amaze.

Anyone who says they "stole from artists" or "this is the lazy way" hasnt seen the behind the scenes. They paid artists for this project and this actually took a lot of a work to get looking even decent, let alone as good as it does.

For this second episode they hired an artist who then drew art inspired by the style and then with his permission they fed it into the AI. Even then they had to use their knowledge of VFX to even make it look like this. It looked 10 times worse before.

it honestly was one of the best scenes xD, even if he did not take the soul though, Philip definitely is a horrible king and overall person. And he truly did shed the last bit of humanity when his wife got uppercut into eye-patch-oblivion

@@mauricioaguilera3194 While I do think Philip did the only thing he could to help his people during the attack from the Barbarian King, I would hardly call that an invasion. It was more of an extremely open assassination attempt. As far as Philip being bad goes, from the Barbarian King's flashback as well as Philip's inner monolog about war and peace and the ending he was the one invading other lands and starting war. It seems as though he is twisting the truth of what happened to his people so that he comes out looking like the good guy.

i don't think anyone has talked about the potential of using this technique to "blend" 'out of budget, out of time' CGI into an anime's artstyle

@@misterawesomeman1 it is AI supported yes but it still requires a person to perform the movements and to put it all together. He did show how to make it and it still requires work. In the end it is a tool for an artist to show an idea and imagination.

Why am I seriously invested in the lore of a youtube series about rock paper scissors?
The flickering was reduced a lot, good job guys. I will point out that Philip's clothes kept morphing new buttons and removing said buttons.
Same thing with abs too, I feel these things should be touched up in post so they stay consistent. Otherwise the result is mindblowing and superb!

With the way the AI-interpreted frames tend to warp and shift in animation, I wonder if any animators have exploited it to make really gnarly Lovecraftian horrors. Imagine a hand-drawn mass of eyes and tentacles moving like that.
There is one youtuber called wizardhead who does this. Search for "fruit salat horror"
the ai randomly does it sometimes whether you want it to or not, depends on its mood.
So far, I think only Secret Invasion's intro used it on purpose to bring a sense of identity loss and anxiety. Too bad the show was shit.
If you search for "ai eating spaghetti" you'll see some horrors. Don't say I didn't warn ya.
That's mostly what I have ai draw when I give it ques because it's just really good at doing lovcraftian things. I prompted a simple ai to make drawings of lavos vs cthulhu and the images it came up with were amazing. It's also really scary that our ai can be like "ahh yes, tenticle monsters that are horrifying the mind" and yet have trouble drawing hands.
