We put in at the kootenay river day use area off highway 93 and then took out near Canal flats. There's a couple different take out options and the shuttle is a little bit long but worth it.
Beginning of August! The weather was beauty but we started our trip 2 days after the fire ban started so no campfires or cooking over one....something to consider if that's what you're hoping for 🤷♀️😊 even without, it was amazing. The first night at the put in was exceptionally cold, down to about -1 over night..with ice all over our gear in the AM..but as the trip carries on, you descend elevation and it quickly warmed up. Day time highs of 35 and lows of 20 were about the average.
This trip was in August and I was using lures to mimic smaller trout Nickle, gold and copper....2/5th Oz or 12g spoons. As the season progresses I'd start using things with reds and oranges in it.
It's a 13ft Star Outlaw ..you can find em on the NRS website. This boat is sporty enough to R2 smaller rivers but big enough to handle some decent class 4 water with a crew. No complaints on this boat yet!
💪… beautiful! Looks epic
Love this. You guys rock !
YES!!!! Take me with you next time!
Looks like a nice trip and you all had fun, it shows on your smiles! Where was your put in and take out? Thanks...

What class rapids? Do you think a 9 foot pontoon raft by chance could get down it? Thank you!
amazing video guys! What time of year was this?

Nice edit Rene, it's hard to get 5 days down to 10 minutes.
Thank you! Yes it's definitely challenging 🤤
What fishing lures do you recommend for catching trout on the Kootenay River?

Great video, But terrible music. Would have been way better with just nature sounds.
