  • This vlog highlights our recent multi-day rafting trip down the Kootenay River.
    It can be a lot of extra work to leave the comforts of home and change up the routines for young kids. But I think it's all worth it!

    Love your video! We are doing this trip in July with similar aged kids. Would you be willing to give some info on put in and take out, and good campsites?

    • @ThatMountainLife
      @ThatMountainLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's hard to wrong on campsites.
      We often put in at Settlers Bridge and take out between the White River Camp ground and Canal Flats. (there's a bridge at this take out and it's about 12-14km north of Canal Flats.
      You can take it out at White River bridge, white river rec site or Canal flats. But the bridge we take out at is best shuttle bang for buck etc

    Hey! We're headed out from Squamish to raft the Kootenay next week! Levels are looking a bit on the high side at the moment (24ish m3/sec). What do you suggest for level? We're all very experienced guides(Futa, Chilko, Grand Canyon..etc). Should be fine? Camp sites available? ps....is that the infamous Giff on the trip with you?!

    • @ThatMountainLife
      @ThatMountainLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! That was Giff! I ski patrolled with him in Fernie for 11 seasons. 👌 You guys will be fine! The beaches and campsites will naturally be smaller at higher flows but the trip is honestly incredible. One of the best multi-day vehicle access class 2 river trips out there. (A smidge of class 3 but pretty forgiving!)

    Do you recall the put in and take out? Got a young one I'd like to bring!
