I love the idea that Freddy and Gregory remember the different playthroughs, but Freddy insists on treating this with all seriousness while Gregory is just like "I'm going to not jump for the next six hours"
At this point I’m expecting something like “Can you beat Security Breach without the flashlight” and it ends up somehow completely annihilating the game

Steel Wool has announced an update for Feburary that aims to fix some of the out of bounds loading errors and exploits. Their specific words were "get your fun in while you can", so this is the perfect time to get some crazy runs done.
Oh Im hyped to see what else they will break with this patch.
@@martmine4618 What i'm more interested in is how it will affect save games that are already broken. My 100% save game used the raceway head time warp glitch, so i wonder what will happen to it after that exploit is patched out.
At least Steel Wool is taking the fact that their game is broken in stride and seem to have a good sense of humor with how people are just doing everything they can to completely anihilate the game.

I remember my first stream was the one where we achieved Jumpless. Spending an hour plus listening to multiple tabs of DJMM, and two hours plus pushing around a lid was actually surprisingly enjoyable. Everyone in chat, you were all wonderful

i think its really sweet that at 19:36, when spiff is showing off the messages telling everyone what they did to contribute, almost all of them are so humble. “oh i didn’t do much, just gave a suggestion for ___” or “oh i just gave just moral support :)”
even though without them this wouldve taken much longer, or never wouldve happened at all! really cool to see them not care about the credit too much, they just wanted to help make something cool happen
Also how he includes moral support members when talking about Team Tomo at the start. Just because you don't own or don't want to play the game doesn't mean you can't help.

@@steeledgator they didn't the bug is based on your PC hardwear so the more optimized it is the shorter it will last but you can forcefully slow down your PC to make it last longer
@@steeledgator you can actually go a lot slower with that and you also probably have more than 1 CPU dedicated to the game if you want to actually do the glitch you want to lower your CPU to 1 and cut the memory down to the lowest the game can run

I love how technically, that one vent is the best-designed area of the game.
In the Task Manager under the Details tab, you can disable specific CPUs for any game. Then you wouldn't need chrome tabs for lag

there are also tools used specifically for taking up ram for testing
@@StarlightLexie or if he doesn't mind restarting his computer and having a lower framerate throughout the run (and assuming that his ram is made up of multiple sticks... I don't know enough to say for absolute certain, but I think that's a safe bet), he could just open up the computer and take out some ram for that part of the run. And if that's not enough, I'm pretty sure there's a way to make programs not use the GPU (or if you have multiple with one of them significantly worse, like a real GPU and then intel integrated graphics, I know for a fact that you can force the worse graphics card to be used)
@@bastian_5975 if he has an nvidia gpu he can limit the framerate to 20fps, people in the dead by daylight community have used it to use it to do the mixed set glitch before they realized they could manually set the fps to 10 in the game settings ini

This is normal here, have you ever tried to beat 50 animatronics set at max difficulty in one night with limited power?
Dawko has, and because of that is the only person to have done an interview with Scott “the man himself”. This community is insanely pigheaded and stubborn, and I LOVE IT! Seeing some of the stuff people can and will tackle, is awesome.

For the future, if you wanna lag a game in a way that prevents loading things in fast enough, lagging your CPU / or RAM can work but it is dangerous as shown by Tomo's example.
I would instead suggest putting the game on an old, slow hard drive and then copy / pasting a folder full of thousands of small files and a few massive ones around to slow it down so hard it can't handle a game loading things from it.
That way you're slowing down the *loading* and not *the whole game*
oh so you're crippling the computer via overloading the Disk I/O? Having a long-running file copying task (or more) going on in the background? Nice idea

AstralSpiff is truly a Shakespearean at heart. His passion for the Montygoo (Montague) rivaled Shakespeare's own.
If you ever attempt a "lagfull" run again I'd suggest installing FNAF on an external hard drive that's only connected with USB. That should completely fuck the loading times and make them 10x longer. To kill graphics, try rendering out a large video project file. Eg download the 10hr music man video, put it into whatever editing program you use and render it out. Either that or install an image upscaling AI and have it upscale 1000 images. That should give you just enough lag without breaking anything.

there are many professional tools used to take up ram so you can check things about your computer, you can just use one of those lmao, you don't need all these ridiculous things
the framerate will be as bad as that one poppy's playtime speedrun he reviewed. it was basically a powerpoint presentation.
Instead of artificially producing lag, there are some tools to limit the resources taken by a program to mimic a lower spec setup instead of damaging your hardware with constant stress.
This challenge would've been a lot easier if Gregory could simply climb short ledges qnd pick up small items like most first-person protagonists can, but without that, your perseverance and determination is truly admirable and something to strive for. Great job, Spiff!
Tomo being an absolute genius at figuring out how to break the game, but also too smoothbrain to try a VM with temporarily lowered specs and actually frying his computer is the true duality of mankind.

Holy shit Spiff actually got the screwdriver at the intended time in the way the devs intended.
I love how funny he makes the exploits and glitches he finds.
Filling up your ram isn't hurting loading times much, more effective would be to put SB files on some old hard drive and maybe even limit the speed to a very low amount
We did a lot of testing for lag strats and we found that the game doesnt like went you dont have ram, I actually used this strat for beating jumpless but sadly it didnt work for spiff

This would be completely impossible, unfortunately. You're locked in the first room of the game with the only way out being to open a gift inside Freddy to get the Fazwatch, and being locked in this room completely with pretty much no possible movement options kills this run instantly.

Due to how hard it is to code a cylindrical collider, and it's rolling angle, it's likely that that annoying popcorn bucket had a cone collider instead. No wonder it was a pain to push around!

This game would've been a lot more healthier with a vault mechanic instead of jumping, meant for certain places only
Yeah honestly it's not that necessary and can break the game sooo easily
I think the jump is easily the most broken mechanic in the game. The pathfinding of the animatronics is obviously not prepared for it, it completely deloads the game when jumping in Freddy, and it makes it easy to jump out of bounds. It doesn't even add to the experience.

i love these self enforced handicaps. it's similar to pokemon nuzzlocke (i believe thats what it's called) where you could catch any pokemon you want, but what if you were only able to catch the first one you find on each route. it's still the same game but it's played way different, i find that incredibly interesting, much like security breach with no jumping, or no sprinting etc, love it

These streams are still one of my favorites I have ever been on. Gotta rewatch the vods at some point.
For Lag Strats you really just need to prevent the game from loading from storage, so your best bet would be to run a looping random read storage test, then set its priority to high so that windows would give it priority over the game
When you were trying lag strats I was literally so jealous because when i was recording my playthough I literally fell through the ground by complete accident. Like the game was literally spiting you
