I thought that 51.5" was a giant, that is a TRUE monster. Very well done. Our prime muskie season is just getting underway locally, they start to come in shallow as the water temps cool down. Hoping to get some new videos up in the coming weeks.
Man that is a PIG!! Gotta love that light color she has too, watching this just gets me all the more excited to get back up to Ontario for the opener in june!
There is no way you would catch me swimming in that lake after the ammout of muskies I have seen you and your friends pull out of there this year. Nice job guys and tell your buddy Congrats from Gonzo man. Glad to see him released fellas.
39" and 45" are some very nice fish! hope you can get back up there soon! i fish they for as long as i can, our season here on ontario opens the second week in june and closes december 15th in the last week I've been out every day for at least 8 hours a day!
Well said, the quicker you get them in. The less stressed they are, fighting a muskie for 10 minutes on light line only causes delayed mortality. We let to get them in fast and unhooked and back in the water as quick as possible! Using heavy equipment this is very possible and reduces stress!!
Very jealous about you staying up in lake of the woods! Thats going to be our big trip this fall, last fall was french river. I cant wait to get way up north again! Ive fished all around kawarthas including the trent waterway, spectacular fishing but nothing compared to up north.
Very true Gabriel! especially on a fish of this caliber, it was my friends first muskie that he caught casting! and his PB, I've learned a lot since then and just need time to practice!!!
thats awesome guys what a fish!! i remember catching my first huge musky over 50! 52 1/2 inch 38 pounds is my biggest! im in virginia on the james river!
The Tandem Mepps Muskie Killer is a great lure especially with the added bonus of a trailer hook. We where using a huge muskie net for this fish but it was just so big it was an awkward fit into the net!
Sorry i don't have this information, but your question did intrigue me to do some research and increase my knowledge, Thanks Bob. Your comments are always appreacited
your right it is amazing, i love muskie fishing i put in 9 hours today throwing huge baits, Wi i always hear about having a great muskie fishery, how have you done up there?
Thanks for the comment. It was a good slow release. and the fish was out of the water just long enough to get a few quick pictures. We are using a full size muskie net it just didn't seem like it because of the sheer size of the muskie
Nice. I lost a similar sized Muskie last time I was up there. Just like you saw your's almost come out of the net because of the length... mine did :( I was using a Mepps Tandem Muskie Killer with a trailer hook, my lucky 7' St Croix and my new Abu 7000i C3 CT Mag HS. Nice reel. Like 30" per turn.
I agree man, are you going to be any shore muskie fishing this year? won't be long before a record is pulled out from out home lake here. could be this fall.
holy shit man what a monster!!!!! and its from our home lake man arent we lucky! but that must have been heart racing when the hook was in the nex but not the ski always a dangerouse position to be in with a monster on the line
wholly fa```k what a freakin monster catch must have been amazing watching that boatside strike we have the best dam muskie fishing in the world here man!!! i gotta get out on the water with you jonesy :)
We use heavy duty braided line/leaders and rods/reels it is best to get the bigger fish in quick to reduce stress, often if you catch a muskie on a lighter set up like a walleye set up with under 10lb line the muskie will die from delayed mortality due to the stress of the fight.
This lure was a double 10, Orange colour blades! i just picked one up and know it will do good! my friend dan missed 2 nice fish on the figure 8 then landed this beast all on the same lure and i didn't have a single bite and i was throwing my hole tackle box
Nice fish thanks for getting her back alive. We can see the urgency and we appreciate it.
that guy should never be allowed to net again
Same with me! longest fish i have ever seen in person and one of the biggest freshwater fish i have seen on youtube, thanks Joey
I love how everyone is criticizing him probably because they are jealous of that beast good job keep up the good work

Awesome! Your net man almost had to walk the plank on that one! Awesome CPR, true sportsmen right there!
So many haters... he acknowledged and admitted his mistake. It must be nice to never make a mistake on the water, robots.

Im going to be living in northern ontario this season, Up past lake of the woods, i also lived and fished in the kawarthas for a season.
Nice! Never thought of that badass muskie also, been up to Mercer, Wi twice muskie fishin, shits amazing!
The Tandem Mepps Muskie Killer is a great lure especially with the added bonus of a trailer hook. We where using a huge muskie net for this fish but it was just so big it was an awkward fit into the net!
Beautiful catch!
Thanks Andy!

You couldn't be more right Adam, This season I'm going to have a Big Kahuna

Wow thats a great fish man good job! Your buddy with the net tho on the other hand lmao
A monster, that's awesome!
GoPro! Badass song to, love The Glitch Mob
agreed, luckily she was hooked good or like you said she would have most likely threw the hooks and there wouldn't have been a 55" put in the boat!
Fish of a lifetime congrats! Terrible net job though you guys are lucky lol
Antonio Medina Thanks for watching!
...gotta wonder what was man with the net thinking when trying to caught that muskie...
Absolutely nice fish though! Congrats!
And that, people, is how you net a huge musky with a crappie net. Two words: Big Kahuna.
OH and amazing fish man!
Thanks dale man!
Great video!!!!!
Thanks man, much appreciated
Sweet vid! Can't believe it didnt throw the hooks.
holy shit man what a monster!!!!! and its from our home lake man arent we lucky! but that must have been heart racing when the hook was in the nex but not the ski always a dangerouse position to be in with a monster on the line
Made me nervous as well! my netting skills have improved big time since then!!
Ontario is the place to be for muskies! Where do you usually fish for them in ontario?
Yeah I agree with everyone else. I have no clue how you managed to land that musky with that net job, but nice catch. That's a big one.
thanks HFBmuskie! and your right about that!
wholly fa```k what a freakin monster catch must have been amazing watching that boatside strike we have the best dam muskie fishing in the world here man!!! i gotta get out on the water with you jonesy :)
omg, great fish guys!
Your right about that! Where do you usually muskie fish?
Nice fish man
Wow, you are lucky that net job didnt cost you the fish. Great fish!!
What a beast dude!
FIRE THE NET MAN!!! Like yesterday
Awesome Muskie I've been trying to get out on Georgian Bay for big Mukies

haha i was the net man in this, and yes i walked the plank afterwards.
Thats a great area, I guide up in the area!
Thanks dude.
I release all my muskie! thanks for the kind words.
Thanks!

haha i will have the record in a few years once things get on the road! thanks for the kind comment man.
i believe the boat comes before the net! thanks
nice video mate
haha i agree man thanks gonzo its much appreciated!
Yes thanks for the help! We can make the world stop - Glitch Mob.
Could you do a video about what Bait and Tackle you use and for what fish?
Nice fish!
+ood2112 Thanks for watching :)
Just so you know a proper muskie net was used! but the shear size of the fish blows the net out of proportion! thanks for your concern!
This lure was a double 10, Orange colour blades! i just picked one up and know it will do good! my friend dan missed 2 nice fish on the figure 8 then landed this beast all on the same lure and i didn't have a single bite and i was throwing my hole tackle box
Was this filmed with a gro-pro
Biggest one we pulled out was mercer lake a 45"er. My biggest was 39", we'll just say I really want to get back up there. You fish them all year long?
Beautiful. Do you know the Lake St. Clair muskie record? 40 lbs. has to be close.
+pnutbutrncrackers Yes there has been a verified 40lber!
ProFishermanJones
Schweet.
Thanks a ton. Very catchy
Im jealous, athough that net job made me nervous!
One of the biggest!
Graet net work!!!!!! LOL
How often do you muskie fish on lake st clair?
they take a while to recover, always ensure they swim away strongly
that netting though......tail first next time... great fish
