    I love the question of “Does the name of the University matter in the work force” I cannot speak for all but I believe ABSOLUTELY not. Which is why I am here and working on a college hackable degree. I work in corporate office of Daimler (Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner) who has tons of employees with the most prestigious fancy degrees and certifications and they still hire people of online degrees. I don’t even have a bachelors and beat my competitors in my new role that had prestigious degrees and certifications. It still boils down to experience, engagement, your charismatic personality. Mastering STAR method interviews are your best selling points as long as you have the qualifications. I also worked in HR before and have been on these interview panels and witnessed it first hand. & Lauren your response was perfect!

So nice to hear from someone watching this concept unfold first hand who can confirm what we’re saying. :) Glad you found us, and aren’t spending more time/money than necessary to get the degree you need 😄 And also, way to beat out people with more credentials on paper, that’s awesome. 😎 -Lauren

      @@CollegeHacked exactly, when I started seeing it more and more… I’m like okay I need to see what competency based online school options I have without having to spend a lot of money. Not only that my director has me on a career path and said the only thing stopping me from moving up was a Bachelor’s… good thing I don’t have to sacrifice a lot of time and resources doing so with an already busy schedule. When I discovered your channel I got more than what I was hoping for! Never knew there was a way to hack a degree and I wouldn’t have discovered a great school like UMPI without yall.

      I’m not familiar with it, but will say the value in tech is almost always what you can do rather than what you have on paper. Sometimes jobs require a degree, but they Always require skills. If that program teaches you skills, then it’s probably a good learning tool. If you’re wanting it to accomplish another purpose (stand-in as a degree), it may not do that.

    My dream job is to be an Attorney, growing up in new york everyone gets stuck in the cycle of going to CUNY (city) schools because it's what's affordable however not many graduate due to the long tradition approach of 4 month semensters and lack of advisement. Persuing law without advisement has been discouraging financially and academically but since finding the college hacked community I've been able to transfer to Umpi. Umpi is also sister schools with Maine Law so I'm taking the college hacked road all the way to Law school hopefully because they have a 3+3 program. I would love to receive the 1-on-1 advisement because I've wasted so much time already and I know my journey is long, I just want to make sure I'm finally on the best and quickest path to get to where I want to be. I know this journey will not be easy but it definetly seems even more obtainble as I plan to finish my undergrad this year and hopefully start law school as early as next year!

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, SNHU accepts Sophia courses for their general education requirements (some study.com is needed too). Terminal degrees are interesting, because whether they are reputable from a certain school all depends on the community you’re using the degree in. If you go to Harvard to teach, they probably won’t enjoy a degree from UAGC too much. Most other places? Doubt they’d write off the brand name, I think it would be more about your curriculum and dissertation.

      Amazing work! 🥳 Glad to help! 😄 SNHU is not competency based (their classes run 8 weeks in length even if you get all the work done on day 1), and usually costs about $11k and takes at least 6 months-10 months if you don’t get your appeals to take more than 2 classes in a term granted after your first term.
      UMPI tends to cost about $5,500 and the 10 classes-if planned strategically and executed on with ALL the hours in your life-can potentially be completed in 8 weeks 😜

When the term was coming to a close around christmas, all those promises fell through the floor. He moved back home owing $8,000.00. He has a job and is working on paying that off. The problem he's having is he wants to be a psychologist. That's a very specific and narrow field. How "hackable" is that?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      VERY hackable! 😄 And that’s a field where he’s going to need advanced degrees, which makes the bachelors even less of a big deal (the meaningful part will be the masters/terminal degree). He should start by finding grad schools he is interested in attending. He can check their admissions requirements to make sure they won’t want something a hacked degree won’t offer. But 9 times out of 10 there’s no issue. He can complete a BA in Psychology through UMPI and their YourPace programs for $5,500 total. :) Happy to help if you guys need it, you can book at CollegeHacked.com!

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We don’t talk too much about prestige because we focus on getting people the best bang for their buck. Some people want to learn a ton in their degree, and some people have been working in their industry for 20+ years and could write the classes in a degree focused on their area of expertise :) They don’t need to learn nearly as much as they need the piece of paper. Different strokes for different folks! Out of that list, ASU is going to be the best quality and the least hackable (two things which often go together).

    @uncajoe92
    I have my dream job as a commercial real estate appraiser.
    I'd like to finish my bachelor's degree (30+ years in the making) which would enable me more opportunities, since it appears to be needed even for lateral moves in the workplace.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Stumbled onto this channel this weekend - great content!
