My grandfather and grandmother both came to America in 1913 and 1915 from Piana degli Albanesi. They had 7 children of whom four are still alive. One is 96, one is 93, one is 83 and one is 81. All of them are women and all speak Arberesh. Four of the them have been to Piana to visit relatives. Three of them were on this trip in 1992. They were all raised in San Jose, California where there is a substantial number of people of Arberesh heritage.

Hi Claudio, do you know the last name of your relatives in California? We had cousins in Sacramento and my grandfather, Filippo DiSalvo, lived with relatives for a short time in Sacramento. This was about the time you mentioned, between 1910 and 1915.
Is your grandmother the woman in black outside the first house with 2 other women or is she the woman in black inside the kitchen? The woman in the kitchen is my relative. The woman with the other 2 women is not some one I know.
