Thank you for all your work on this dashboard. I have enjoyed it for over a year now. It is by far the best SimHub dash out there, and it’s so cool that you’re continuing to build it. 1 euro a month is a no brainer!
Thanks! I can finally say that it is turning into a product - so, although most of it is still free - there’s now a strong incentive to become a member.
@@LovelySimRacing been a pro member for a year now and will always continue to support your work. Thanks for all the effort you put into making sim racing a better experience with your Lovely ecosystem 🤘🏻
just downloading now and setting it up! pretty cool what all is offered for free here. i plan to sub shortly for the member account. Thank you Constantinos
Not having a DDU I can't say that I'm in your target market, but being a software developer myself I can say that I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this and it looks really well done. I hope you have lots of success with it. Plus the bug during the demo was 10/10 and happens to all of us haha
Thanks! The bug was not actually a bug. It was just a case of restating everything. I had just setup folder junctions on my PC, and it wasn’t responding as it should. 😂
So as it stands, with the free version of the dash, I can have all of the MFM modules - are you saying this will go away at some point, or whenever this plugin becomes available, and I'll be limited to three per side if I'm not a member?
@@LovelySimRacing I’m not sure restricting access to things free users already have is fair. Imagine if a developer suddenly decided you needed a subscription to have all of the tracks in the game at once, when you had them all by default before. I understand that all of the panels are still available, only restricted to how many you can have at one time. I also happily support Ilya Yusupov, Peter Boese etc for more than €1 a month, and you are certainly next on that list for how much I’ve used your dashboard since buying my DDU. I’d feel the same whether we were talking €1 or €100, it’s about principle. I would certainly understand new panels, such as the Radar you’ve been working on, to be premium. I would understand the ability to disable/enable them, and per sim - hell, the plugin as a whole, I’d happily go premium for. But taking away the ability to use all of the stock, base panels at once for free users unless they pay - no matter how much or little - just doesn’t sit well with me. I intend no hate, I’m actually really looking forward to your response here to help me understand. Cheers.
Well, I understand your point of view, I do. But on the other hand, I’ve been giving everything away for free, forever. I had to put some limits if I want this to survive as a product. I decided to limit (not remove or restrict) the use of MFM and of course the online platforms. Regarding the MFM - As this is in no way limiting what you can use, just how many you can use at the same time, I don’t think this is a problem. You can still use the dash for free… and of course select ANY MFM you want, albeit just three at a time. Regarding the Online Platforms - these require constant maintenance especially if something goes wrong. Also, these are “good to have” and in no way affect the actual dash. In light of your message, I will say this. If I were to continue giving away the dash “as is” and just require a paid membership for things going forward, I’d probably not be able to continue working on it. Specifically, regarding your statement on free features that are now paid, you have a valid point. But I don't think it would change much if I were to add only new paid features going forward. I spend over 10 hours per day working on the ecosystem and it provides my sole income. Hours spent improving, fixing, communicating and developing new ideas and features. I would love it if I could just give it away free forever, but that is hardly an option, especially now that I’m full time on it - as I would NEVER expect you to work for free either. If someone cannot spare €1 per month on these features, then yeah, they can have it for free with limitations ;) My promise was always to give the dash away for free. And even with these limitations, it¡ is still fully functional. In fact, the free version still has way more functionality than the dash had when it was over a year old… I hope everyone understand the need to monetise this product - and appreciate the fact that I still choose to give it away.
@@LovelySimRacing Lovely answer - good points well made, and I'm happy. Thank you for responding in such detail, and so kindly. Just grabbed myself a pro membership. Thank you!
Great product but I`m having issues. I am a paid member so I have full module use which is good. How exactly do I get these modules to actually show up on the screen. I already use My Lovely Dashboard as a dashboard on my monitor but I can not see where to add them or is it only for an external display? I suspect it is me as my LSR knowledge is very basic. Any help is grateful. Thanks
maybe im missing something, but Lovely Plugin exports in .json but SimHub only imports .djson. Once i have the layout how i want it, i export it (in .json) but when i go to import the setting its not found because Simhub is looking for a .djson file. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do... The Lovely Plugin exports a JSON file which includes all the settings for the Lovely Plugin. To import those setting back into the Lovely Plugin you select Import Settings, in the Lovely Plugin. What you are referring to are SimHub dashboard files. Again, not entirely sure what you are trying to do.
Lovely as always. Do the Ascher features work for both the wired and wireless versions through simhub? I have the wireless SC version of the Artura Pro. Thanks!
Great work man! Looking into the membership soon. But is there also a donation option somewhere? I mean, instead of a fixed monthly payment? Does anybody know if you can use a wheel button to change the mfm screens on a phone/tablet screen? The screen change via a wheel button/input, only works with the dash running windowed or on a separate pc connected screen
I don’t think there will ever be a one time payment. But I am looking into improving the entire process and adding annual memberships with a discount. You can assign buttons in various ways. Check these instructions github.com/Lovely-Sim-Racing/lovely-dashboard/blob/main/docs/actions.md
Really good work. I've clicked the become a member screen and been brought to Ko-fi page. Do you have to create an account there to stop/alter payments? Never like signing up to something unless I know how to cancel a subscription just something I've always done.
Does simhub plan to introduce VR support? Since I switched to VR, I haven't been able to use the lovely dashboard :< It's very difficult and you have to play around with other applications
Well we can always ask the man himself in the Simhub discord, but I don’t have VR so cannot answer immediately. I know there are people using it, so it’s not impossible.
I would like to see a dedicated and more detailed MFM or window for Fuel data. And also be able to add precision decimals to the fuel data instead of rounded up values.
Fuel data becomes more precise as the numbers lower. For example, laps left goes from 00 to 00.0 when under 10 laps left of fuel. Same for fuel in tank. Saves space and also only shows detail when it’s necessary. I hear the call for the dedicated MFM.
@ I was playing around with loveleydash. Excellent work. But yea I just want to see more fuel data without having to cycle through the different fuel widgets. I’ve never edited or created a dash but I would like to see the bottom now be dedicated to fuel data. Personally the top left with the headlights and wipers and such aren’t terribly important to me. So I would probably move the tc,abs,bb info from the bottom left to the top left and dedicate the bottom to solely fuel data.
I used to edit the dash using the edit tool. Am i still able to do that or will the plug in always overwrite the file limiting it to 3 options per side of the dash?
@LovelySimRacing I might be using a wrong term. A few months ago you posted a tool that was letting us customize the dash. We could select various options for sections A and B. That tool was letting us select 5 or more options per side. Which I had. But as I installed the plug-in, I only have 3 options per side with a free account. I wonder if I could still use that tool or would I have to disable the plug-in to be able to use more that 3 data types per section?
Once you sign up, I ship it out to you within a couple of days. It is a Gold Member Sticker that is available only to Gold Members. And only one per member…
