I thought this was just another boring remote access video, but I found it very useful! I would like to see a more detailed video with simple examples of how to use it. Thank you!
Great video. Here's a suggestion: a video with Tailscale setup + a FOSS solution to connect ( from a linux host) to a remote Windows machine and troubleshoot your aging parents latest PC issue.... Basically a replacement for Teamviewer.
I stumbled across TS and love what it can do. Not being network guy (know enough to be dangerous) I'd like to see use cases from a home user perspective once it's set up and running.
Very helpful and informative, thanks for taking the time to do this. I think you mentioned something about devices where Tailscale was not installed using your Tailnet, but I don't recall you mentioning it again. Please forgive me if I missed it.
Sugggestion? Yeah definitely. How about a SelfHosted TailScale? I'm in love with what I see...... EXCEPT step 1 -- "Go create an account on the manufacturer's official homepage". Uhhhm... if getting a support plan with the deployment is necessary, then that's all good. But for the "tired of other companies getting hacked that have my data in their systems" types like me, doing a completely self-hosted deployment is what I need. If that's not possible, I'll just have to pass for now I suppose. Appreciate the vid, thanks! :)
That would be headscale. It's more complicated, where you need a vps that runs 24/7, a DNS, and every IP address and routing are manual, and everything is command line based, without a gui. But it is an option for true self sufficiency.
First of all, Thanks for all the TH-cam tutorials about Linux, they are amazingly beautiful and educative. My question, is it possible to learn these commands to work on Kali Linux normally or not? I am a fun of Kali Linux and for some reason, I find your explanation extremely amazing, does it make sense to learn more about Linux here and still use Kali as the OS?
I did not care about having to make an account, but having to depend on one of those "providers" vice my own credential, not happy... Tailscale a great concept to, especially the "sub-net" router feature.. But, I never before have used any other provider to log into a web site, its convenient for them not to have to be a credential provider, but terrible security for the user.

Commenting to let you know that it would be great to see more in depth video on tailscale and all of its features and network control rules, DNS
please make another great video for some of the best use cases of tailscale

Excellent video. If you have time, please make a video in which you explain the ACLs. I have had a difficult time with this. Thank you.
Love this video, would love to see the break down of how the transfer files between nodes and use a macjine as a vpn.
Also, I'd like you to demonstrate copying files between Tailscale nodes.

Hello Jay,
Good video again, thanks.
I like to know your optimal setup for Tailscale with Home Assistant.
Thanks in advance.

Tailscale and NextCloud install
I started with 2:04 and when I heard that I need to create and account with Tailscale I immediately stopped watching.
