- In a show of NATO solidarity, French troops joined forces with their British and Estonian counterparts in exercise Bold Fusilier, held in Tapa, Estonia, from 8-13 October 2023. The exercise aimed to enhance the interoperability and integration of a French Company within the UK-led multinational battlegroup in Estonia, which is part of the 1st Estonian Brigade. A Canadian mechanised company and a Polish tank platoon simulated the enemy forces in the scenario. The participating troops demonstrated their skills and capabilities in operating armoured vehicles, overcoming obstacles, and fighting in complex terrain, such as forests. The highlight of the exercise was the successful clearance of a 700 metre-long trench complex by the French troops. The exercise showcased the strong bond and cooperation between the NATO allies in the region. Footage of the exercise can be seen below, featuring Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicles from the UK’s First Fusiliers Battlegroup, Challenger 2 tanks from the Queen’s Royal Hussars, and French and Estonian soldiers in action.
