  • The French Station is the second most important railway station in Barcelona, which was built in the 19th century as the main station for trains arriving mainly from France, as well as serving the north-east of Catalonia and the Costa Brava.
The French Station is considered the most beautiful train station in Barcelona. The two monumental buildings that make up the station, designed by architect Pedro Muguruza, were reconstructed for the 1929 World's Fair. The station was opened by King Alfonso XIII. The architecture of the station is a combination of classical and modern styles, complete with marble, bronze and crystal finishing. Twelve tracks and seven platforms, covered with two glazed metal cornices. The station also has a two-track platform located outside the main dome, and a tunnel for trains. The French station is considered the second most important railway station, second only to the Barcelona-Sants station.
