What a great video showing us all the little things that you typically don't hear about! Like the view to the towers, Museum and the book shop! Thank you so much!
I've been watching the development of this building, probably the most interesting architectural project of all time. The decoration exquisite beyond belief.. Gaudi's immagination was sublime and unrestrained Thanks for an interesting narrative which was strong enough to not need music ;)
What a magical place,so many beautiful and interesting sceneries of Barcelona…thanks for taking us along for the adventure!!! Like and support from Indonesia
29 SEP 2024 I first discovered this La Sagrada Familia 37 years ago only because of the 1987 Album that was Inspired by Antonio Gaudi and that album is titled "Gaudi" by none other than The Alan Parsons Project. I hope to visit someday.
Thank you for this amazing video of one of the planet's great architectural gems. We came here with a good local tour guide, so we skipped having to buy tix, etc - this was pre-Covid. I love the idea of exploring this area and other parts of the city beyond the Ciutat Vella - which can be overcrowded with tourists. Park Güell, Gaudi's fantasy park, is another great site.
I first went up the towers in 1995. There was no roof over the nave at the time. I found the trip up and down the towers to be very thrilling. At that time there wasn't the protective wires on the connecting bridges. Times have changed and not necessarily for the better. I have been back a few times since 1995 and have seen the astounding progress. It's stunning. As you point out it's a must when visiting Barcelona.
Thank you bro, I already bought the tickets in their official site it was the last few tickets for my tip 25 sept to 1okt, its so funny that in booking they offer trip for almost double price SHOCK.
@@bradball I just did the guided tour today and it was excellent! Especially being able to ask questions of the tour guide. The Passion Tower...eh... I'd probably skip it if I had to do it again.
We have to bring our own ear plugs in order to use the audioguide? I recall reading somewhere that you collect one once you get past security and inside the basilica
I believe the audio tour is included on the app. There may be headphones available but it probably works best if you just have your own headphones that connect with your phone.
Before Covid most audioguides given by the orginazation were the norm. But since 2021, most museums (at least in Catalonia) have replaced physical audioguides with QR codes you can read with your phone using your own headphones. The advantage is that now most audioguides are free!!! For guided tours I belive they still give you headphones to listen more clearly what the guide is explaining :)
Just on the tower tour - I skipped this the last time I was there 8 years ago but the next time I visit I would like to go up and see one of the newer towers like the tower of Mary (under construction during my visit) or the tower of Christ . . . these larger towers have much more impressive atriums / viewing platforms but just wondering when they plan to open these up to the public?
Mary tower and the 4 evangelists towers are already built! As far as I know though, these have no observation deck (there are statues on top of those towers). Jesus tower is planned to be finished between 2026 and 2028, as soon as possible, and this one will have and obseevstion deck :)
I'm planning to visit the Sagrada. Seems like there's a no shorts dress code but from your video, I see a whole bunch of people wearing them. Any comments?
I made the terrible mistake of not downloading the app in advance. My bad connection did not help while I was inside, so the app tip is definitely valuable for everybody visiting Sagrada Família :)
A Cathedral is the where the bishop is HQ’ed. A Church is usually a place of worship where priests are based, usually covering a certain area of a diocese. I’m not sure what the state of Sagrada Familia is as I don’t even know if it’s been properly consecrated nor do they say Mass there. It certainly looks very sacred from the outside but very secular on the inside.
You can buy a ticket at the tourist infomation kiosk at the plaza de cataluna a day in advance it costs 23 euros and they do it on line right there i bought mine there in May the lady at the kiosk was very helpful and AMABLE try it
Its not GAudi, but Gaudí, with the accent in the I. And never Antonio, but Antoni in Catalan. He was even arrested by the damn spanish police for not saying his name in spanish.
let´s add a "15" :-) The Sagrada Familia (Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia ) is more than a church and not a cathedral (the cathedral of Barcelona is the Cathedral Santa Eulalia) ..... It´s a basilica (by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010)
Gaudi said himself that he thought it would it would never be finished Shortly after his death, they found some new construction techniques that cut deadline of the timeframe to completion. odd how God works. Init

It reminded me of Muir Woods and in the afternoon light, it becomes vibrant
I will be there on the 30th of this month. Cant wait to see it.
Well made and informative.
I agree with you, i too think it's the most beautiful building I've ever seen.

Very informative! Super helpful for planning my trip!
Thanks Jacob… you guys have fun! 👍🏻
I went yesterday. It was an amazing experience. I wish I had seen your video before I went.
Great narration and guide. Thanks for great video.

Where did you buy your ticket? I am looking for a ticket online, but I dont know which site to trust

I also strongly recommend visiting the “Hospital de Sant Pau” historical museum complex within walking distance of La Sagrada Familia.
Great and informative video!
The sagrada familia I visited very often because I lived for 20 years in Spain. It one of the most beautiful churches in the world 🌎
Great video! How many steps up did you have to go up for the Nativity tower? Did you feel claustrophobic going either up or down?
Thank you for this beautiful presentation 💜❤💖

Is Sagrada entrance free during sunday mass, christmas eve mass and christmas day mass?
Came across this, thanks for making it!
Most important question I think you did not address.
Do they say Mass there?
Thank you for your video!
Thank you so much for this. One question please, can I take photos and videos inside? Do I have to ask for special permission? Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you for this!
Thanks for this video! One more recommendation question: Is the guided tour worth it, or is self-guided just fine?
@@scotth.hawley1560 ImThe standard self-guided tour (available on the app that you can download) is excellent and I highly recommend.

Hello.thank u for the info. Howis the line if i only buy the regular ticket?Do u need to buy the "skip the line ticket" .is the line too much??
I didn’t buy a skip the line ticket. Unless you are going to be there during a very busy season or holiday, I don’t think it is necessary.
@@bradball thank u
Good video, though I’ve never heard the Taj Mahal being mentioned as a religious building.
I was today years old when I found that the Taj Mahal complex includes a mosque
Can anyone clarify as a man am i allowed to wear shorts that go down to the knee or do you need to wear full trousers

Thank you.
Is that carbonara? If so from where it looks delicious. We are visiting Barcelona soon and would love to have lunch there.

so, you saying you cannot go to door and buy it?
That’s correct… they don’t sell tickets at the location. I could not find any nearby vendor nearby that sold tickets either. Online only.
They got into full online some years ago cause the queus created were literally sorrounding the whole church xd
Super 👏👏
Thank you! Cheers!

It is not a cathedral, , it is not the seat of the Bishop, it is a basilica.

@@alexanderortega5625a cathedral is the oficial church of a bishop. This is not. The cahtdral of Barcelona is the kriginal gothic one in Ciutat Vella

I didn't see any selfie sticks in the video, do you know if those things are prohibited there?
They don't accept tickets from third party only bought on original website.
MISTAKE N°15
El creador del vídeo ha olvidado visitar la pequeña iglesia que hay debajo de la Sagrada familia y que contiene la tumba de Gaudí.
This takes Mañana to a whole new level 😂

Gaudily predicted hundreds of years to completion. He was rightly pessimistic. But was also wrong. It will be completed within 5 years. !
I Mean. Five years from the present day.
I heard there were 13 mistakes, not 14.
🌺🌺🌺♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇
Taj Mahal is not the religious building, correct your information 😂
Barcelona:capital of Catalonia, please!!
There's a 15th mistake in your video. The Sagrada Familia is a BASILICA NOT A CATHEDRAL. Do your research.
Sounds like you need to make your own video Mike.
Too expensive to go to church. Fuck it.
