Dr.Wily Thanks for being supported to fans who are or went though depression and other emotional effects.(Just remember you might have save someone life today well😊)
After I saw the title I thought the same thing over and over. The ending of TW has to be on the list, for me it was a big emotional moment. Kinda sad that it wasn't on the list!
Some other sad moments: -Flat and sharp in majora's mask -King of Ikana -healing Darmani and Mikau -Pamela and her father -The dead solider -Midna getting attacked by Zant (Minda's lament) -saying goodbye to midna -Jovani -Fi's farewell -Saying goodbye to Impa in skyward sword -Reuniting skipper with his crew in skyward sword -Zelda sealing herself -King of Hyrule staying behind -Ganondorf's death in wind waker -Basically the credits of any Zelda game.
What, no mention of Midna's Lament from Twilight Princess? Having your companion desperately cling to you, half dead, right after what was supposed to be victory was snatched away, while a very mournful song plays and it literally rains for the only time in the game. They were TRYING to tug on our heartstrings for that scene. Not saying the scenes mentioned here don't qualify, it's just that scene should have been near the top.
Midna will always be remembered by any Zelda player. Her whole character was great though the farewell scene in the end was so heartbreaking when the mirror shattered
10: Skull kid backstory (MM) 9: Fi s farewell (SS) 8: Final hours during anju and kafei sidequest (MM) 7: Flute boy dies (Alttp) 6: Aryll kidnapped (WW) 5: Deku Goron and Zora death (MM) 4: Hyrule falls and champions death (BotW) 3: Midna s farewell (TP) 2: Hyrule King stays behind (WW) 1: Koholin disapears (LA)
In Skyward Sword, it made me cry when Zelda was locked into a crystal. My worst fear is losing a loved one because they'll never, or not in a long time come back. You can even see Link in distraught.
In my opinion, I think the Zora prince in twilight princess who’s mother was executed by the shadow beasts while he was out to find help totally belongs somewhere on this list. But anyway, great video nonetheless! Love these Zelda vids!
Either Agetha, Zelda (right before getting the master sword), or Midna, and why Agetha? Because she has no friends, and the only friends she has are bugs, which kind of made my insides tingle in a warming way
I'm a bit shocked that there was no Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword(specifically, Zelda sealing herself. I mean, look at Link's face! Even HIM is sad about it!) But the ones you chose man, Majoras Mask was flipping sad. Great Video!
Not even a single entry from TP?! That’s shocking. I mean, there’s so many in it you could’ve chosen. My pick for it though you at least showed a fraction of so...ehh...
I hope you checked out Ramoni Ranch on the night of the 3rd day, its very bitter sweet, especially if you saved the ranch on night 1. A very touching moment between the two sisters.
This is probably one of my new favorite videos on this channel for the fact that he brings to light moments that not a lot of people know about, that are really worth knowing about.
I thought one of the standing stones mentioned the sheika used to have sacrifices in the shadow temple. But no one else ever references that standing stone and the other people who mention that temple say all the dead stuff there has something to some civil war so maybe I imagined the standing stone IDK.
I still remember Anju and Kafei's final scene when I played 'MM' with my niece. After they urged Link to find shelter and said they would greet the morning together, I played the Ocarina in Clock Town's final seconds. When I looked at my niece afterwards, she had tears in her eyes.
Zelda's while thing about feeling like a disappointment and being unable to use her powers is really emotional for me. I can understand how she feels and she just wants to protect her people and everything she loves. When the time comes she still isn't prepared and she feels terrible. That was really emotional for me. Also anything with Mipha because she is the best champion personally.
I feel like the guard in clock town telling you to find your parents and run if you walk up to him in the deku mask is pretty heart wrenching as he has to stand right in front of his death
Wat? No Twilight Princess? That has got to be one of the most dark Zelda games! Majora's mask was pretty dark bu Twilight Princess was like a hell version of Hyrule. MM was impending doom. I can't believe there is no TP moments on here, TP was the darkest Zelda game hands down.
What about Midnas sacrifice, Farewell to The King Of Red Lions, and the Final goodbye to Impa before she dies from old age in Skyward Sword? Half of this list weren't even moments, but places and events that gave none of us any emotional impact. The saddest moments in Zelda are made from the emotional connections we share with the supporting cast and the great ordeals we face with them.
I think Ciela’s farewell should have been on this list. It literally shows you the meaning behind the saying “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”
Dr.Wily just for extra information on #2, When I was a kid I too thought going to Romani Ranch at the end of the cycle would help, but the game just ends like normal and no one is there except for the usual people. I haven't checked it in the 3DS version, only in the N64 version.
Thank you for mentioning the virtual help information. Some people in my support group cannot afford much for therapy and I hope this may help. I appreciate you mentioning your struggle with depression. Its a struggle to many of us and we should not be ashamed of it. Thank you again.
Link's Awakening was one of my first Zelda games. Seeing it's bittersweet ending hit me hard, and I was hoping there would be a sequel. But that's when I found later about the multiple timelines... 😢
I think that the keffie side quest counts as part of the moon crash event because they know that they are going to die from the moon. it's sort of a cling on
red0means0go once a fairy has completed its reason for being, like a pink fairy that revives Link it disappears so it dies, Navi's reason for being was to aid Link throughout his quest and at the end her reason for being was done so she disappeared. I think she flew away because her and Link grew a close bond and she didn't want him to see her fade away. That's just what I think though, it's not concrete.
Good on you on the better help ad. Depression has gotten bad in latter years. My favorite sad part(s) is definitely most of Majoras Mask. Everything was tragic. Nothing was happy.
Good thing when I played the N64 version of Ocarina of Time I thought that the game ended after you beat the forest temple or I would be having nightmares.
Link's Awakening was the first Zelda game I've played and beaten and after 20 years, its ending is still the saddest moment from Zelda for me. When I realized what was going on, I was actually quite hesitant to beat the game and when I finally beat the game, I started seeing that game a very depressing one.
The saddest part of this video was not really on the list, but when you said you went through depression in the past. I am glad to hear you got the help you needed and you are okay now though.
Yup. Plus she's a navigational tool like Fi and Navi and they eventually leave after the job is done. Midna was a okay developed sidekick, but she left for a reason.
For the shadow temple, don't even get me started on the mini boss! Dead hands is extremely scary intimidating, and just plain wierd, definitely nightmare fuel!
"A Link to the Past" : bringing the ocarina back to its owner and playing it for a last time before he changes into a tree. This unexpected scene let me incomprehending at first and remained in my head for long. "The Wind Waker" : farewell, Hyrule king and Hyrule itself.
saddest moment when cremia lets romani taste alcohol and sleep in her bed because she knowns that they are gonna die. it was such a subtle thing in majoras mask. but when u realise whats happening it hits u hard.
For me, I wouldve added in the moment from skyward sword... you know what I’m talking about. Also another from Majoras mask, Cremia is letting her little sister drink an “adult drink” on the final day. I’m forgetting the other details, but Cremia basically wants to get her little sister intoxicated so she doesn’t realize what’s happening. And when I realized that I nearly cried 💀
Dr. Wiley I know you probably won't do this because you probably won't see this comment but it would be really cool if you could do a theory on the purple fog from Twilight Princess in the Faron woods I've always been really curious of what it is like if it's something like like a fog version of the malice from breath of the wild or I don't know I think it would be an interesting Theory though
Another pretty sad moment is in Oracle of Ages: when Veran goes in the past and turn people of present into stone you can find an house with the mother of a petrified child who tries desesparatly to save him. The same goes for the little boy who play with his father in the past after she gains control of the powers of the Black Tower
I have read a short comic about Link’s mother taking Link to Kokiri Forest. Link’s father wasn’t mentioned in the game but in the comic he was a knight who died in the war.
If you go behind the houses to the Allie way before heading to the temple of time to open the door, you will see an almost died hirule soldier (but only at this time)
Firstly the redhead knights are not there and also the happy mask salesman and from majoras mask 😺 think about it maybe they are the same world terminal and hyrule
On the Deku butler. might be interesting to mention that in the original N64 version of the game, the deku butler does not kneel at the son's remains. Instead, it shows the butler with a hand on his chest and giving a shallow bow to the tree, while holding the candle we see him carrying previously, in his other hand. Perhaps this did not show the family tie strong enough, as it seemed to show him paying respects to another deku, and so Nintendo changed the pose to appear more solemn, hopeless, and to really drive home the feeling of Solidarity.
One of the saddest moments was not listed here. In the ending credits of Ocarina of Time, you can see everybody together celebrating Hyrule was saved, everybody happy and dancing, excluding Mido and King Zora; they are both sat away from the others, all sad because Saria and Ruto "are gone"
If you think about it, hyrule historia said that parents lost in the lost forest (the forest link’s mom went through to deliver link to the deku tree) turn into stalfos so link could have actually KILLED HIS MOTHER whenever he kills stalfos. In my opinion that is probably one of the darkest/ saddest things besides kafei.
atleast 2-3 spots should have been filled by TP, link having to rush to hyrule castle in order to save midna from dying, the end of TP when she destroys the mirror of twilight, and when she "dies" by ganondorf but not really
Link didn’t know his mom, we don’t know what happened to his father, he had a tough life. Yeah. He even went on to become the forgotten hero and even after dying, couldn’t rest until he passed on his sword skills 😕

Dr.Wily where was twilight princess b/c the cutscene after you save lanayru from twilight it has a dark story about the fused shadows

Are you not going to speak of Midna at the end of Twilight Princess? I cried.
Dom Strick I cried soo hard too
After I saw the title I thought the same thing over and over. The ending of TW has to be on the list, for me it was a big emotional moment. Kinda sad that it wasn't on the list!
Dom Strick same ;(
I feel very heart broken. More like a heart break I felt so painfully.
same here, Midna is one of my favorite Zelda characters.
The darkest thing in the Legend of Zelda series is.....
The whole entire playthrough of Majora's Mask
Totaly
RJ Gary So true.
You have met with a terrible fate haven't you
Lmao I just finished that I loved that game! It's my favorite
RJ Gary yes that's right
Some other sad moments:
-Flat and sharp in majora's mask
-King of Ikana
-healing Darmani and Mikau
-Pamela and her father
-The dead solider
-Midna getting attacked by Zant (Minda's lament)
-saying goodbye to midna
-Jovani
-Fi's farewell
-Saying goodbye to Impa in skyward sword
-Reuniting skipper with his crew in skyward sword
-Zelda sealing herself
-King of Hyrule staying behind
-Ganondorf's death in wind waker
-Basically the credits of any Zelda game.
DeezWalmartz don’t mention how Link was set back into the Child Timeline
Also the kidnapping of Aryll and Link's Grandma mourning in Wind Waker
What, no mention of Midna's Lament from Twilight Princess? Having your companion desperately cling to you, half dead, right after what was supposed to be victory was snatched away, while a very mournful song plays and it literally rains for the only time in the game. Agreed
Midna will always be remembered by any Zelda player. Her whole character was great though the farewell scene in the end was so heartbreaking when the mirror shattered
A much sadder moment is the mid end-credit scene where she says goodbye and forever seals herself in the twilight realm.

Skyward sword Impas death, Wind Waker King Daphnes death, twilight princess?
Midna’s almost death.
Zelda the puppet-boss.
In Skyward Sword, it made me cry when Zelda was locked into a crystal. My worst fear is losing a loved one because they'll never, or not in a long time come back. You can even see Link in distraught.
What about in Twilight Princess when midna threw herself at ganon to save Link and Zelda
Fiery Chaos nah that's more epic than sad
dang no twilight princess? i think that’s the most emotional game imo
I’m only on the forest temple
Cole Perry me too. It was really dark and emotional .
So dark man
Majoras mask is the darkest
God, Twilight Princess is the only game I've ever played that actually made me cry.
For me by far the saddest most gut wrenching moment was
Botw being delayed for 2 years
DoHickey NOO DON’T REMIND ME*cries a bit under that hard otaku outer layer*
But for good reason. I think the two-year delay helped improve the game.
;n;
Sure improve, this game isn't even half finished
DoHickey same
Number 1: the game over screen
Tekentijd NOOOO (I SEEN THAT ALOT)

Kinda surprised rushing Midna to Hyrule castle wasn't on here
But I have to admit
I was sad during each of the moments on this list
I actually remember that one....luckily it wasn't spoiled for me ;) I heard about the scene just never saw it or knew what happened
Either that or watching midna separate Hyrule and the twilight realm forever hit me pretty hard
Was expecting a partner goodbye or at least one Twilight Princess moment
How could nothing from Twilight Princess be on here???
Either Agetha, Zelda (right before getting the master sword), or Midna, and why Agetha? Because she has no friends, and the only friends she has are bugs, which kind of made my insides tingle in a warming way
Rest In Peace Midna’s Lament, The Interlopers, and my adorable, freaky Yeta.
Right? The zora prince and his mother is absolutely heartbreaking:(

I'm a bit shocked that there was no Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword(specifically, Zelda sealing herself. I mean, look at Link's face! Even HIM is sad about it!) But the ones you chose man, Majoras Mask was flipping sad. Great Video!
Woof woof •o• I actually can never stop laughing at the expression on Link's face during that part.
Not even a single entry from TP?! That’s shocking. I mean, there’s so many in it you could’ve chosen. My pick for it though you at least showed a fraction of so...ehh...
i better see midnas lament
Dale Hussung rip
spoiler: you dont
Dale Hussung and the wind waker with the kings goodbye
The entire section with limp midna made me cry even as a teen
whaaat no twilight princesses?!!!
How about when Midna leaves in Twilight Princess ;_; I swear I was crying so hard ;---;
I think all of Hero Shades story is way sadder than most of the saddest moments in Zelda.
I hope you checked out Ramoni Ranch on the night of the 3rd day, its very bitter sweet, especially if you saved the ranch on night 1. A very touching moment between the two sisters.
Thank you for making the number one spot right. If you don't cry over Anju and Kafei's love then you're soulless. :'(
But it'd not real..
breIoom I know I’m soulless, thanks for reminding me.
it's overrated
he should have put the king of red lion's death somewhere!

for me, it was Midna leaving.
