It has many other dark creatures like vampires, Frankenstein, witches and other monsters in British folklores. 2) Dracula, Frankenstein, the phantom of the opera are gothic novels too, even there are gothic poetry that comes under gothic literature like poetry by Edgar Allan Poe. 3) the time period the novel is set in is mostly around the Victorian ages of Europe, also the novel shows gothic architecture (1200-1800 century and some after that) . 3) the dresses of characters include largely laces/nets, corsets, veils. 4) graveyard scenes are found in almost every gothic novel. 5) the main theme of almost every gothic novel includes romanticising the dead, horror and finding peace in darkness. They r not depressing but macabre. 6) Not all horror movies/novels can be categorised as gothic literature (eg: zombie apocalypse movies and novels are not or barely gothic, some vampire novels like twilight series by Stephanie Meyers and dead to the world series by Charline Harris are romantic and horror genre but not gothic literature genre) 7) horror and gothic are both different and individual genres themselves, though gothic literature includes some or most horror parts, but describing is as solely horror won't be right from the literature sense.
