I think, Thomas Nash was from the Elizabethan age and at that time the novel didn't exist in English literature. Instead of saying the first picaresque n novel, we should say the picaresque genre. And the first epistolary novel in English literature is generally considered to be "Pamela, or Virtue Rewarded" by Samuel Richardson, published in 1740 whereas aphra Behn wrote the mentioned novel in 1684.
