  • Marcelo Bielsa called a press conference to show his extreme level of detail, when preparing for games. And showed how laughable the suggestion that one training session being watched, was an advantage.
My thoughts and summary of this incredible press conference

In this world, of corrupt politicians, mercenary ex footballers turned to media’s puppets, honest people need more guys like Bielsa, transparent and frontal, the world would be a better place with more people like him, showing that sort of commitment to their jobs!!! As an Argentinian, I can only feel proud of him representing me...

The pfa & efl make the rules, if they do not make them water tight that will leave it open to interpretation & in this case a talented manager has taken advantage of that.
At the end of the day they can only take it on the chin themselves, should be A slap on the hand for bielsa and fine, Un-sportsmanship at best!! MOT
Did fat frank admit that he also watched Leeds early in the season, who else did he check out, wink wink.....

Massive Bielsa fan, who supports Everton here. I thought Bielsa was finished in France and I'm delighted he's bringing a proper club in Leeds back to where they belong. Beware the Spring burn-out though. That is indeed a very real thing.
I just wonder from watching this video (and only this one) how you did not know Bielsa was like this. Even some casual homework will tell you what this guy is like. He's an absolute workaholic genius. When he got the Bilbao job, a club I follow after Everton's legendary manager Howard Kendall left Everton at it's Zenith to go there in 1987 (I was a kid before you ask how old I am!) , after he agreed to take the Bilbao job he delayed taking it for an unknown (at the time reason). He then agreed to the job and turned up for pre-season. The club introduced him to the team, and they said they would get to work on helping him get to know his players, no need Bielsa said, I've watched every game from last season, and the season before on video. Jaws hit he floor. Twice he finishes off. That's Bielsa. A workaholic obsessive. I thought with his advancing years he has lost his sparkle as things went wrong at Marseille, were disastrous at Lille, and ridiculous in Italy. I was wrong. Bielsa is amazing and you are lucky to have him. Enjoy the ride, it's never dull with the great man in charge.
If you want to know more on your manager, search out his training videos. He frequently lectured (other top class managers) and some of the things he comes up with are amazing. All that "spontaneous" movement you see, not so. It's all drilled into the players by Bielsa. Also, in Spain a lot of the training sessions are open, as they are in Argentina. You can send a guy along and he can sit on the spectators benches (at the training ground because people (fans) do go and watch). The videos are fascinating as you see how he works his side. There is no one like Bielsa and why you get dinosaurs like Allardyce who don't study him and his methods and try and implement some of them, I do not know.See you next season.

Great comment and thank for watching. I've several of Bielsa books. His own and ones written about his tactics. To see the amount of hours per team was what I was surprised at. I knew he was detailed and had watched games, but the shere depth of analysis in each player and possibilities was mind blowing.

He has like 5 good players rested from injuries re-entering the team. Plus, that burnout, which is real, should´ve already happened.

The Bielsa are a well-respected family in Rosario, the city of Messi, the city of the legendary, CHE Guevara. Rafael Bielsa, the brother of Marcelo, was a remarkable Chancellor, in the government of Cristina Kirchner; Maria Eugenia, Marcelo's other sister, is about to run for governor of Santa Fe. Rosario's News Old Boys stadium is called "The Colossus, Marcelo Bielsa, and Bielsa himself has just built and donated a 5-star hotel for the youth of the lower divisions that come from the interior of the country to live. The building, which was secretly built, gave him the name of his mentor, Griffa, before donating it to the club. People love him, and he loves the club of his loves. A crack.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. In all honesty, and as I said in other media comments, Frankly Lampard should feel honored that Bielsa has sent someone to see his training session. In another note, I personally think that Bielsa is a little bit hurt for all the negative comments he has heard about the situation so he can't help himself but make his own defense about the case. It is obvious for anyone who knows him (I follow him closely since he started in Newell's) that this press conference is more for him than for anyone else. He needs to make sure everyone knows how hard he works and what he does because his reputation and honesty are more important than anything. Period. There is simply no many people out there like him, forget about managers! He behaves in the way we should all do when someone questions our integrity. It is a fact that Leeds will be promoted, the team is looking better with the return of some injured players and will be ready for the final sprint of the season. I will be happy for Leeds fans and for Football but even more happy for Marcelo Bielsa.
