Thank you very much! I study geography and I don’t really know what to choose and you helped me very much. Thank you so much! I’ve chosen to become a geologist as I like discovering and exploring. It’s my dream job and I will definitely work hard to achieve my goals, I’ve repeated myself twice but I really do mean it, I was so confused in what to do and now I have a dream job. Really, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! (If I don’t succeed I will become an author because I like writing as well!)
I like this video, though I feel like it's worth mentioning that almost if not all of these jobs are better suited with other degrees. The advantage with Geography is the "jack of all trades" aspect of being a candidate for all of them.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Geography & Environmental Studies. Graduated in 2020... lucky me. Haven't been able to find any positions relevant to my degree that doesn't also require higher education, years of experience, etc... Hope other people have better luck.
Thank you for making this video i love the effort and quality of the content. This has answered a lot of questions for me, i never knew what a geography degree was capable of. Thank you
I love that you mentioned Geologist and therefore its intersection with physical geography, something, that is overlooked so often, when considering geography related career paths... Two careers, I think would have deserved to be in here would be renewable energy professional and surveyor, which are both interesting fields and established industries. And starting from there, the programming skills from using GIS can even prepare for positions in software development... The possibilities are endless, so thank you for such great content and keep up the good work! All the best from Austria (from an environmental geographer)!
Oh, and with a keen interest in business related careers, there is always the real estate industry, as well as supply-chain-management or logistics, among way to numerous other options...
Hey! Can you please help me out? I love to travel world and love nature related things. So I am planning to take up geography in graduation. But i also love business, startups, ceo post. I also love love love the conten shown in natural geographic, discovery etc. I would love to join them. So do you think taking up geography would be best for me? Should I go for it? Please help
Nice presentation and very informative video. I am an Indian and now I am studying BSc geography in uk and it is a very good course. I like this course and my goal is to become a GIS officer or a weather forecaster.
You can't be a Geologist with solely a Geography degree here in the U.S. Geology requires coursework in physics, calculus, chemistry, and a whole slew of other math heavy courses. Geography majors don't require anything like that.
A year after graduating with a Geography GIS degree i got a job with an electric company mapping facilities and keeping a visual record of all the assets.
I have a Geography degree. With that I was 3 credits shy of a Psychology minor due to the additional classes I had to take for my Bachelors in Science.
I am a geographer and have numerous career videos online about geography… We need to keep spreading the word the geography matters in the 21st-century because most people are still Unaware of its benefits.
All these jobs require a postgraduate degree which requires a 2. 1 plus lots of money to fund . You can’t just do them with a geography degree. Some of them also require other more specific degrees and a geography degree won’t get you in. I know someone who did town planning and he hates it.
Exactlyyy I feel so vexed whenever I see people say that geography is boring or they hate geography. I mean how on earth can a person hate to study about the beautiful world that we live in. It infuriates me as to how much people don't like geography. I feel so sad that I'm the only one in my family who loves geography and everyone else (mom dad sis brother) they all hate geography and make fun of me. I am yet to find a person who likes geography let alone love it as much as I do
Hi my child is Genius in Geography. He is only 11 years old. He already know all Countries, all capital, all states of most of the country, sizes of all countries etc. If you want to interview my son, he is free. His dream is to study abroad.
Good mam i have recently completed my 12th with science but I have interest in geography I want to travel abroad which is emerging career mam I want some guidance from you plz help me I want to do something different from other.😞 Love from india mam❤️
Most of these careers are related to geography but you would need different degrees to actually get those jobs. Environmental Science, GIS, Environmental Studies, Geology, Hydrology. All related to geography but you will not land a career doing these simply with a geography degree
Hello. I am preparing for the European Geography Olympiad. what advice would you give? that is, what books do I read, what tests can I use? please answer.
Im not sure if you will see this Mel, but my teacher Mckinley Mclintyre showed my class this video today and he said he's friends with you in real life. Is that true, if so theres something I need to tell you
I’m not sure why you think chemistry isn’t taken in geography. Geology and geography are often within the same department and sometimes even in the same degree.
@@aschyrconley1684 there not in the UK , Geography is not a recognised as a science a Geologist isn’t something you can blag at the interview with a Geography degree instead of a Geology degree which required A level in chemistry . maybe in North America or other countries but not in the UK. Can’t do a geography degree and then be a Geologist
@@Toboreandtega1 oh I understand, that’s my bad. Yeah in the states they often mix them together. And you can chose your science so if geology was your goal you could tailor your degree. Granted I’d probably suggest a double major in the states if you wanted geography and geology.

Just realized geography excites me a lot and I think I wanna take it so this is genuinely really reassuring
1. Information to curious minds 2. Helpful to people struggling to choose their career choices 3 . My teacher made this 😎

Thanks for answering this important question. As we advance as a human race, Geography is becoming more and more important.
