I had a 1979 KZ 650 SR which I bought NEW in Spring of 79. I road it from MN cross country to CA and then kept it for over 3 years. It was still in Mint condition when I sold it and got more than I paid for it new. It was an awesome bike and I never should have sold it. (For any price) I have missed it ever since the day I sold it. God I loved that bike. Looking at this one brings back so many good memories.
Man! I had one of these for 8 years and put 45000 miles on top of the 21 it already had. It was bullet proof. Got knocked off by a Volvo Estate driver and they had to tow his car away coz he'd knackered his steering (and my knee, and the bike). But we all got better :) Sold it for £250 to someone a few years ago and he ratted it right up. It's still going! Sounds a bit rougher than this one though.
I had a kz 650 I took it in on trade guy was having trouble with it. I dialed in the carburetors it ran like a champ. I'm an old Harley man but this Japanese rocket would fly. Fastest thing from 60mph to 110mph I ever saddled up on.

What has happened to the rear shocks where they bolt on to the swing arm, it looks odd.
