Challenge Idea: Mirrormatch
You wanna find out who is really the better trainer? Try this:
Each of you Catch 3 over world encounters. Infinite skips. After locking in your 3 pokemon, you copy the exact 3 pokemon of the other player, with the same moveset and ability.
This will make the battle a massive mindgame, with you guys trying to outsmart each other.
Therefore choose your pokemon wisely right from the start❤️
Hey, that's good! I second this. Alternatively, do the 3 encounters, then tell the other what three you have so they can counterpick or strategize otherwise with next three.

New challenge idea… one gets to choose whatever open world pokemon they want, but can’t change their random move set, the other can only use their first 6 hidden encounter pokemon, but can change their move set/ability!!

Yea kinda close. Only a couple of Chillins dark types actually had dark moves or it would've been a worse beating
I have been subscribed for a while now and decided to show my little cousin your channel and he really loved the idea of a randomized world to play through and battle.
So we decided to give it a try ourselves and played a match with randomized Pokemon and did the same gym leader type challenge of this video, with my cousin choosing Fighting and myself choosing Normal.
I can safely say that, that was possibly the most fun we have had together with just the two of us outside of family outings. Haven’t seen him so excited and happy since he entered his “I am no longer a kid” young teen phase.
Thanks for the memories, I now have something fun we both enjoy that we can do now when i babysit him.
I have both a new appreciation for a Contrary Tauros with Close Combat, and a new respect and weariness of Huge Power Hawlucha with Oblivion Wing.

Yo, I really enjoyed this concept. Hope to see this become a regular/semi regular challenge style.
Challenge idea: you each catch twelve pokémon exclusively from random encounters (fishing, trees, etc.). Then, you form teams of six consecutively-caught pokémon. For example: you could take the pokémon from encounters 1-6, or 3-8, or 6-11, any combination as long as they were all caught one after the other. I think you could run it just as well evolved as non-evolved.

I think I woupd like to see this challenge again, but instead you both catch and reveal a dual type mon to each other at the start. You then get to choose what of the two types to use against the other person secretly.
Really likes that one, adds mystery to it since neither side will know what to expect, would love to see this one again!

trainer: catches 5 random encounters of any typing. gets 3 skips, no legends, pseudo’s allowed. also gets to chose an over world encounter starter pokemon

What if you caught each others gym leader pokemon? You gotta catch 6 fully evolved, same-typed mons for the other guy.

So you guys have had TONS of different rules to build teams. What about a wheel of previous rules that people loved? So team of 6 with 2 allowed skips. Each of you will spin the wheel of rules and then whatever it lands on IE: “Left, middle, or right randomized starter” then that person plays that rule. So on and so forth. Can even have a wheel within a wheel IE: “Pokémon type wheel” as one of the “rules” that can be played. Just an idea hope it helps and definitely hope to see it 😊

Next time you do this, remember that every gym leader has a signature TM. You could allow one TM that fits your gym in order to redeem the bad movesets
Idea: Big Average or tiny. Line up the three starters and you have the opponent choose if you get the largest Mon, average size Mon, or tiny Mon. Legendaries included.

Ghost that can be strong against Dark. Shedinja, Mimikyuu, Marshadow, and Annihilape. Only one is available for him. Completely countered.
Shedinja won't get any offense tho.
And Shedinja is complete garbage without Wonder Guard. It always will have 1 HP and will go down to literally any offensive attack that isn't Hold Back, False Swipe, or any Normal or Fighting move lol
As others have said Shedinja would get destroyed and it sucks without it’s normal ability (unless the ability it was replaced with was sturdy but it’s random so the chance of that happening is just so unlikely). Legendaries weren’t allowed so Marshadow is out of the picture too and I believe Annihilape is gen 9 (Scarlett and Violet) and they were playing in Sword and Shield in this. Mimikyu is the only option that works.
Nevermind I say u said only 1 is available after I put my comment. But if u knew they weren’t available then why did u even mention them? That’s what threw me off 😂.
Challenge Idea: Have 2 sets of the best 3 pokemon trios from any Gym Leader from any game. For example: Giovanni’s Nidoqueen, Ryperior, & Dugtrio + Blaze’s Arcanine, Rapidash, & Ninetales

Hey! This was my suggestion! It also works even better in SV, because you could theoretically pick a non-type pokemon, and give it the typing with Tera, just like all of the SV Gym Leaders do.

as soon as types were picked, I knew how it was gonna go. being a ghost fan myself, mimikyu is really important for helping with the dark type weakness. buut it still didn't go as expected with those moves 😆

As a Dark type trainer we aren't worried about Fairy types? Skips over a Weavile who had more coverage for a more squishy Shiftry?
Challenge idea:
First catch is a random encounter. The next catches have to match the type of the first move of the previous Pokémon.
Idea: same concept were you make a gym but you can change one move on each Pokemon
I’d be a water gym leader. Easy to fill a team with cool water types. And it would be fun to hit the beach with them!
Would’ve gone dark type to, Honchkrow and Houndoom have always been my favorites!
Idea: the chance battle
You both get to catch 8 pokemon with random encounters. Anything you catch will be fully evolved for the battle. Catch is you must learn metronome on each mon. Select the best 6 and then during the battle you get to flip a coin: if you call it right you get to choose your move, if not you metronome, gl!
me who was like mimikyu to counter dark type would be huge he never thought of it
Challenge ideas:
1. You can only catch a single type of all the types in the game.
If the pokemon is dual type you lose both types.
2. One pokemon from every Gen
3. One random pokemon from each route
4. The wheel spin with all the different Generations but only fighting babies.
Loved the challenge idea. Next time you could allow 1 Pokémon on the Team that isn't of the chosen type but still fits the theme and can usually learn some moves of the type. This is similar to how some of the Gym Leaders do it in the games and also the Fan Game "This Gym of Mine" does this aswell.
"Weaville is too squishy, I'll take this shiftry" I had to check.. shiftry has both lower defense stats lol, but more hp stat
Champion challenge would be fun. Catch any mon thats been used by a champion in any of the gens and see who comes out on top
Long challenge idea:
You each do a randomised nuzlocke (run it as a weekly series) and the team you finish the e4 with is the team you have to use in a final "and then we fight" to finish the series, no random moves, and the evs you train are the ones you use.

You should do a rivals challenge, one person picks randomised starters and the other has to pick overworld encounters that counter the typing.
Maybe go back and forth so each person gets 3 overworld and 3 starters or one person does all starters the other all overworld and the overworld isn't allowed legendaries
Every good gym leader should have a Pokemon that doesn't belong to their type, but fits the theme wonderfully. Gen 9 tied this into Tera very well. Maybe you want to make future Gym Leader videos for this in the next gen.
Vid Idea: Counter Tactics
1. Each catch any 3 pokemon
2. Show each other what you caught
3. Go catch any 3 more pokemon to either “counter” or just overpower what the other caught.
4. Battle!
Challenge idea: catch 6 legendaries, 6 pseudos, 6 fully evolved, 6 second stage evolutions, and 6 first stage evolutions. Then place them all in tier lists as follows for example:
Lugia $5
Metagross $4
Tentacruel $3
Pikachu $2
Rookidee $1
Your opponent has $20 to buy their team without knowing the abilities or movesets of their choices. From the Pokémon you caught. You can choose to spend all your money on just legendaries or create an actual 6 team Pokémon.

Please do this one again! It was so fun to watch. I would've done fairy personally, one of my favorite typings. I don't remember which fairy pokemon are in gen 8 and I never got the dlc, but I would've done Gardevoir, Weezing, Primarina, Grimmsnarl, Whimsicott, and Togekiss. If lgedendaries/mythicals were allowed I would add in Diancie and Xerneas
Okay. On the 12th. It will officially be one month since I first started asking for this.
I have an idea for Scarlet and Violet. The two of you catch one Pokémon of each type. 18 each. Now. Once you have caught all of them. You can take turns choosing to pass or take. So for a fire type. If quick takes his fire type, then chillin has to take his. And vice versa. Same rule for passing. Now a couple of rules, 1. only one legendary. You can choose to catch only one. So for dragon. If you see a dialga first, you can choose if you want that dragon or wanna save you legend for later. 2. Only one of each. So if you caught a gallade for fighting. Then you can’t catch a gallade for psychic. 3. Random moves and abilities. 4 no backtracking.
Challenge idea: fishing encounters only vs tree encounters only. Legends welcomed 🔥
Since you two always go for the wild and other open areas, could you do a route challenge? Place the normal in-game routes to a wheel and catch a pokemon wherever the wheel shows. Maybe even lock your opponent from choosing a route you’ve been to, in the case you see something decent you'd rather not the other have.
Gengar is and always will be a legend.

I would love to see yall start doing these in a double battles with other Pokemon gamers, or just more double battles in general

10 eggs, 9 are completely random, and 1 is legendary. You pick eggs until you have 6, and you get 2 skips. So there is a chance that you don't get the guaranteed legendary
Idea: One of you picks a type, then other picks type that is super effective to it and keep going until both have 6 types. Then you catch Pokémons of that type. You could also make it monotype style and you pick your favorites of those monotypes (within reason, no legendaries etc).
Great fun challenge definitely do more like that. But Eliminate types you already used until you both go through all the types. Make it a series of challenges.

New challenge : 6 random pokemon files each, look at the starter (randomized) and choose together left / middle / right to exclude. Both of you will pick the remaining pokemon(s) of your file. If both of you exclude the same one, for example the right one, you will pick left and mid. Then you choose the 6 pokemon you want from the pool and fight. No evolution.

I got a great challenge. You guys both have three random starters, choice lock, but rock paper scissors decides who gets to choose. So if chillin wins and picks middle quick must take middle as well.
Challenge idea, y’all catch a whole box of Pokémon and then play battleship…. I know it may take a while but you could edit it more so we just see move sets and abilities until the battleship starts.

HITMONCHAN Edition 5V5 Battle
Use only 3 movesets for each Hitmonchan in your party.
Focus Punch - An attack that is executed last. The user flinches if hit beforehand. The user focuses its mind before launching a punch. It will fail if the user is hit before it is used. ( Use to counter Upper Hand ).
Mach Punch - The user throws a punch at blinding speed. This move always goes first. ( Use to counter Focus Punch ).
Upper Hand - It will strike first and cause the target to flinch; otherwise, Upper Hand will fail. It also works on Abilities that give priority to moves. ( Use to counter Mach Punch ).
I mean yeah dark has a clear advantage over ghost, but he only had one dark type move on all his mons combined, so it wasn't as big as an advantage as it could have been.

idk if you guys keep these randomized mons in a box somewhere but a cool idea for a challenge might be to dip into previously caught mons as like a “best of” challenge. you could customize the teams a lot if you still have any old guys hanging around
Challenge idea :
1. Each of you have 6 coins to be flipped
2. The coins contain 2 side of choices
3. Each coin has 2 options as below :
* 1st coin contains starter mon & eevolution as a choice
* 2nd coin contains gym leader's mon from 2 regions of your choices
* 3rd coin contains weaknesses, ex : dragon / fairy, poison / steel, fire / grass, or another of your choices
* 4th coin contains fully evolve mon (3 stages evolution only) vs single stage mon (legendary not included)
* 5th coin contains from anime perspective, ex : ASH's mon vs GARY's mon
* 6th coin contains legendary (mythical included) vs pseudo legendary
4. No skip allowed, the ability and move are to be randomized, you have to take whatever mon you caught by the coin you flipped even if the mon has no attacking move
