It's just Mike. He talked about it way back in 2004-2005 how he didn't wanna use Mike Shinoda as his stage name and decided to call himself Fort Minor, because there's multiple meanings behind that name, one of which is piano and music and he's been dealing in that since he was a little kid. So Post Traumatic or a new Fort Minor album. It's all the same. There wouldn't have been that much of a difference if he had put out Post Traumatic as FM. He just decided not to because it's a very personal project and he wanted to approach it as MS.

When I tell y’all I am so happy I found this song after over a decade of it living in my memory, the feeling of happy doesn’t even come close to explaining the feeling. When I first found this song I was a preteen, depressed as fuck with anger, trust and emotional issues from living with an abusive family. I felt like I was either going to take my life away before my 20s or I’d live alone for the rest of my life. This song brought me the little happiness I could feel when I listened to it as a kid. Now I’m 29 with two kids, a third on the way. Been with my wife 11 years. We both have great careers a brand new house. I am the happiest I’ve ever been. Granted I still feel like a nobody but if you’re someone like who I was, remember it gets better. Don’t be afraid to burn bridges with family if it means that at the end it helps you. Never give up. Never stop fighting.
I can still remember my first time watching this vid on telly, at first i didn't even believe it was Mike, I was like "he is part of LP, so he can't be anywhere without the rest of the band"... Those were the times, and that was the beginning of my passion towards FM alongside with Linkiin Park.
Time flies, but music has a way of making time stand still....if only for a song. I first heard "One Step Closer" by Mike Shinoda's main group Linkin Park in 1999 while re-roofing a house. I was... like 21?.... and I can remember we literally started a mosh pit on someone's roof. Just the 5 of us acting like we were bonafide insane. Strange thing is, I wouldn't give that memory up for the world. 38 now, much more responsible, blah blah blah, but there will always be a part of me that wishes he were there up on that roof again with not a care in the world. Ignorant, naive, even downright stupid..... but oh so alive. Every now and then you just have to check the wisdom at the door and act a fool.

Gaz - LP has evolved over time, and some people think they "sold out", but all bands must continue to change or they die. Check out a track that Chester Bennington was featured on a while back called "Walking Dead" by DJ Z-trip. If I had my whole life to come up with just one good song I am not sure I could, and these guys are doing countless "side projects" in addition to Linkin Park. Creativity comes naturally to some, while people like me have to work at it. Regardless, it seems as though Shinoda lives in a reality that has many more hours in a day than the one I am stuck in.

It’s not just a song, its the feeling and all the flashbacks. Damnnn. Brings me back to my teenage days. Looking at how life has turned and hw we all hv grown to be, really gave me the chills.
Believe Me Lyrics [Chorus: Mike Shinoda] I guess that this is where we've come to If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me But I won't be there when you go down Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me [Verse 1: Ryu] I don't wanna be the one to blame You like fun and games? Keep playing 'em I'm just saying, think back then, we was like one and the same On the right track, but I was on the wrong train Just like that, now you gotta face the pain And the devil's got a fresh new place to play And in your brain, like a maze you can never escape the rain Every damn day is the same shade of grey [Verse 2: Mike Shinoda] Hey, I use to have a little bit of plan Use to have a concept of where I stand But that concept slipped right out of my hand Now, I don't really even know who I am Yo, what do I have to say? Maybe I should do what I have to do to break free And whatever happens to you, we'll see But it's not gonna happen with me [Chorus: Mike Shinoda] I guess that this is where we've come to If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me But I won't be there when you go down Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me [Verse 3: Mike Shinoda] Back then, I thought you were just like me Somebody who could see all the pain I see But you proved to me unintentionally That you would self destruct eventually Now I'll be thinking like the mistake I made doesn't hurt But it's not gonna work 'cause it's really much worse Than I thought, I wished you were something you were not And now this guilt is really all that I got [Verse 4: Tak] You turn your back and walk away in shame All you got is a memory of pain Nothing makes sense and you stare at the ground And hear my voice in your head when no one else is around So what do I have to say? Maybe I should do what I have to do to break free And whatever happens to you, we'll see But it's not gonna happen with me [Chorus: Mike Shinoda] I guess that this is where we've come to If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me But I won't be there when you go down Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me I guess that this is where we've come to If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me But I won't be there when you go down Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me [Outro: Mike Shinoda] (I'll do what I have to do) You're on your own now, believe me (Whatever happens to you) You're on your own now, believe me (What do I have to say?) You're on your own now, believe me (Is not gonna happen with me) You're on your own now, believe me
Shame we didn't have full Hd back then . Hay can you guys do a remaster of your videos please , would be epic . It's 2024 and your songs are still great , but good quality videos would be icing on the cake . Love you guys .

@@nandid.3733 No. Fort Minor has never been a group though. It´s the side project of Mike Shinoda, who´s better known for his work as writer, keybordist, rhythm guitarist and co-leader vocalist of his band Linkin Park. The Rising Tied Album (which this song belongs to) is the first Fort Minor album and it included the participation of the group Styles of Beyond in basically all songs, and in many of the songs tittle you can see (feat. Styles of Beyond) showing it´s just a feat... although this one doesn´t say it so I understand why you say FM is a group. So back to your question, the 2015 single "Welcome" was the last song by Fort Minor and nowadays Mike Shinoda is working as solo artist and he released the "Post-traumatic" album in 2018 and he´s currently working on the single "Open Door" which will be released pretty soon. You can find his new stuff in his channel "Mike Shinoda".

I used to be obsessed with this song when it first released and would hear to it multiple times a day and then just forgot about it until today when i suddenly remembered it in 2023. Oh how i miss those days..
When people talk about rappers who are not black...... Its always Eminem....... Everybody forgets about this legend. MIKE SHINODA
wtf
they really to make songs together

Mike Shinoda said he doesn't want to do more Fort Minor at least for now but he released his new song Happy Endings last month (under his own name)

It’s not just a song, its the feeling and all the flashbacks. Damnnn. Brings me back to my teenage days. Looking at how life has turned and hw we all hv grown to be, really gave me the chills.
One word: Quality.
14 years and this song still sounds so beautiful🎉
this song is from 2005
Fort minor, linkin park, MCR, they're my friends on my teen ages. Miss old times 11 years gone so fast! :")
That's quite a weird combination, FM, LP, I get that. But then MCR...
well i love them too! :D

Believe Me Lyrics
[Chorus: Mike Shinoda]
I guess that this is where we've come to
If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me
But I won't be there when you go down
Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me
[Verse 1: Ryu]
I don't wanna be the one to blame
You like fun and games? Keep playing 'em
I'm just saying, think back then, we was like one and the same
On the right track, but I was on the wrong train
Just like that, now you gotta face the pain
And the devil's got a fresh new place to play
And in your brain, like a maze you can never escape the rain
Every damn day is the same shade of grey
[Verse 2: Mike Shinoda]
Hey, I use to have a little bit of plan
Use to have a concept of where I stand
But that concept slipped right out of my hand
Now, I don't really even know who I am
Yo, what do I have to say?
Maybe I should do what I have to do to break free
And whatever happens to you, we'll see
But it's not gonna happen with me
[Chorus: Mike Shinoda]
I guess that this is where we've come to
If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me
But I won't be there when you go down
Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me
[Verse 3: Mike Shinoda]
Back then, I thought you were just like me
Somebody who could see all the pain I see
But you proved to me unintentionally
That you would self destruct eventually
Now I'll be thinking like the mistake I made doesn't hurt
But it's not gonna work 'cause it's really much worse
Than I thought, I wished you were something you were not
And now this guilt is really all that I got
[Verse 4: Tak]
You turn your back and walk away in shame
All you got is a memory of pain
Nothing makes sense and you stare at the ground
And hear my voice in your head when no one else is around
So what do I have to say?
Maybe I should do what I have to do to break free
And whatever happens to you, we'll see
But it's not gonna happen with me
[Chorus: Mike Shinoda]
I guess that this is where we've come to
If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me
But I won't be there when you go down
Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me
I guess that this is where we've come to
If you don't want to, then you don't have to believe me
But I won't be there when you go down
Just so you know now, you're on your own now, believe me
[Outro: Mike Shinoda]
(I'll do what I have to do)
You're on your own now, believe me
(Whatever happens to you)
You're on your own now, believe me
(What do I have to say?)
You're on your own now, believe me
(Is not gonna happen with me)
You're on your own now, believe me

Try Linkin Park. Fort minor is a side project of Linkin Park's raper.

He can even make rap better in alternative rock nu metal alternative metal rap rock electronic rock pop rock

FFS I FINALLY FOUND IT !!!!
Are they still a group today?

OmG Mike Shinoda, today was my first time I've heard this song and I played 5 times! Too way ahead back then, soooo talented! Loved it! 💘
How Mike has not put this song into one of LP’s live medleys, I will never know.
