You have such a wonderful way of explaining how to care for these beautiful Maiden Hair Ferns. So interesting how that wall fills up with these ferns when it starts to rain.
I am amazed at how much Maidenhair fern grows there like that. It’s so beautiful. I live in the USA in Florida and I can only get new plants from my old ones. I have many ferns in my yard in pots that have spread and I now have ferns all over the ground. It looks nicer than grass. You do a very nice job.
That wall looks incredible!!! Im in the UK and we are always discouraged from taking plants ‘from the wild’. If everyone did it from that wall it wouldnt look so beautiful!
Congratulations for inculcating the right values and making gardening so interesting for the children. Great video. We are together making a greener planet
omg love the video! there is a nursery here that has maidenhairs growing on the cement blocks holding up their outside plant tables and its so gorgeous, but nothing compared to that wall you have access to! I want to just go and sit by that wall! lol
I absolutely share your joy and excitement seeing plants growing lush in green amidst nature & ive tried digging them up and transplanting them at home but none of the ferns survived ! Dont understand how they grow perfectly fine on rocks but not with all the TLC i giv them ☺️. I guess i left them in water for too long thinking their roots should grow out first. Will put them directly into soil like u did & see what happens ! Cant wait for the monsoons!❤☺️
Thank you so much for this video. Never ever thought of foraging for plants! I shall be walking around with plastic bags and containers from today. I’m a new subscriber and love your channel. Simple and to the point. Thanks again.
So beautiful maidenhair ferns. When I was in school age, I used to take long n wide leaf flowing ferns from some walls n brought home. My mom would plant it. It's looks stunning with breeze blowing into it like swaying palms. Ferns grew to 2 feet in length just like palms.😊🌿
I LOVE Maiden hair ferns!!❤️ And I loved this video! The name of your channel itself is AWESOME ! Nature lovers like me find such contents very very INTERESTING!!❤️ THANK YOU SO MUCH!👍❤️
I'm looking forward to a fern which will create its own shade in the pot. We used to have a giant scrub like fern in the house. It was a magnificent plant.
I've seen a video where even if it dries up the one that one did. All you have to do is chop off the top. And keep watering it. It takes approximately 21 days and it will start growing again. I believe it's also called the Lazarus plant. So since one of mine died on me I've chopped the dead leaves off and I've been watering it. Wish me luck. I love these plants they are soooo cute.😌
😊 Yes Andrew,we get them here too in pots at nureseries(a little rare though) But going out and getting some from the wild is adventurous and fun! However survival rate is low, as it gets pretty hot and dry here in the summers.
Thank you Geeks of Green for this video, it was a real fun to watch you foraging for this fern. I never knew the name of this fern looking your video I got a lot of information. There is such a huge quantity of Maiden fern in my locality it just grows like a weed.
What about dividing maidenhair fern that is in a shady garden? Would I just use a sharp shovel to divide the roots since I'll be digging in the earth? Thank you for your lovely video! I learned so much!
New subscriber🤗 I used to live in Asia and its true that you can forage some plants we see in garden centers. But plant people is the only one notices most if it. 🤔 Ive done some of foraging and somebody said im bringing home weeds🤣🤣🤣 because it grows everywhere in the tropics.🌿🌿
Yes, and Garden Centers and Plant Shops in my location is making a fortune $$$😉 because price of plants is insane and sometimes unimaginable. Since IG and TH-cam makes them popular😉. But it never stop me from loving plants. Looking forward for more of your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.👌
Thank you so much for your youtube channel. I am from South Africa and have alot of ferns in my garden. The winter made all my ferns die. Is there a way to revive them?
Hi. Could you share a video about growing common herbs at home, in a limited space and whether hydroponics will work for that? Really looking forward to it! Thanks
Hi.... It's good to see the little garden Champ 😘😘👏👏. Very cool indeed these plants to watch. Thanks for sharing full details 🙏💐. I shall add to my garden too😃😃
Hii maam...I juz luv ferns...I had Boston fern ,bird's nest fern, clover leaf etc with me..I hve seen this fern.but was not sure that it can b planted indoor...thank u so much for this info....
My favorite fern. Just brought one home from the plant store yesterday and it was brown and crinkly this morning! Gave it a good watering and misted it and covered it with a loose plastic bag to see if I could save it!
Hey Ann just yesterday when I went out for some work , I saw this fern in a roadside nursery . They had only one and I just grabbed it . Well inspired by you this time I will venture out to collect some fern from our colony . In the meantime I will post pictures of my fern that I bought in your Insta DM .
I just discovered your channel Ann... And it's really amazing. Thanks for much info on this maiden hair fern. I've really loved them always but it's difficult to find them here in Delhi nurseries.
Hi! Thanks for the great videos. I got inspired and got a few leaves of Boston fern from a neighbour with the roots. Have planted those two weeks back. Am keeping the soil moist and the plant is in indirect light. Any estimates on when I can expect to see some new growth to be sure that the plant will survive?
Thanks Isneesh 😊, Boston ferns are pretty hardy and they fill up a pot fast. In around a weeks time you should seen growth and new fronds just starting off. Once in settles in, in 4 to 6 months the pot should be full!
I found it growing up outside my bathroom wall, then I uprooted it, thought if gets spread will damage the wall, now I have been looking for this since I have started gardening I not getting it for free anywhere, always look at the bathroom wall ,it has come or not
Sandhya, now I am interested to know what this fern is! Can you send me a pic on Instagram or mail me the picture on geeksofgreen at gmail dot com. I love identifying unknown plants.. Though I can't identify so many lol!
@@GeeksofGreen really beautiful plants ..... it is a plant that i have seen only in my school days the walls of school would have these and moss growing in rains . Beautiful memories . Thanks for sharing
Today I foraged the maidenhair fern and Boston fern i think, on my way home which i daily use. I saw a man foraging them so i got curious and stopped to ask and got to know that he was getting ferns. Golden sand very long ago from a local fish store. Now it's not easy to find. Can't reveal the location of the ferns because too many people's might go to the spot to collect ferns if posted publicly.

I live in Australia, wish we had maiden's hair growing freely here 🌿
We have them in Sydney! But we cannot pick them from the national parks because of conservation

Thanks Subha, I agree that this is one of the most beautiful ferns out there!
I just discovered your channel Ann... And it's really amazing. Thanks for much info on this maiden hair fern. I've really loved them always but it's difficult to find them here in Delhi nurseries.
Thank you Angelina! They don't do very well in dry climates, maybe that is the reason.
Do all the ferns dry out in summer and winter? I have boston and Maiden in my pots
In Singapore plucking plants cutting fruit etc ...involves heavy fines
Your kid is soo cute!
Great video.. can v keep it indoor.. will it harm or polute the air.
Thanks Sreehari, it wont harm\pollute the air. You can keep it in near a brightly lit window. If it gets too less light, it might die.
Can I put water from top or can I give shower to fern ? As I have this plant and right now here it's 45° degrees

Golden sand very long ago from a local fish store. Now it's not easy to find. Can't reveal the location of the ferns because too many people's might go to the spot to collect ferns if posted publicly.
Can we add moss/lichens to these? I asked the name of this fern in your latest video and come across this video so I'm glad for it. Thank you

Thank you for this video. I just bought one 😂
Which place is this? Mumbai,I m yearning for Maidenhair fern since a long time, couldn't, if you can guide me....
This is in Thane, mumbai. But I am certain, during the rains, you will find these walls quite commonly everywhere.
So did u plant the dry one? What happened to it? Same thing happened with me. I took from an office and due to "life happens" Couldn't plant immediately. And it dried.. I still have kept it in the pot but m not sure if it will grow..
The dried one didn't survive! However these ferns often spring back even after dying out completely.
Did these plants survive ?
