He's James Bond to me but Thomas Crown was a great character. Charming, seductive and a thrill seeker. He played the role fantastic.
This dude was born to play James Bond. Remington Steele made it obvious. Too bad it was at the end of the cheese-Bond era... but Goldeneye was an exception. Thomas Crown is still one of my favorite movie characters, all time. I'm like Colbert, I can't not watch it when I see it on streams or back when I still had cable.

Seized Cheese I meant English as the English language. in Ireland they speak English, dont they. He doesn have any Irish drawl if not in the movie clip, according to me.
Really? I hear the Irish accent quite strongly. I'm surprised how strong it actually still is after all these years and how much of the north you can hear in that Meath accent.
His vowels are a little altered, from a theatre accent/RP for plays, but he's still rhotic and irish after all that. Just sounds like a posh irish accent in the end. It's not far off Aiden Gillan's accent

Thomas Crown isn't my favourite movie by a long shot, but that final scene of him in the gallery with Nina Simone's 'Sinnerman' and the play on Magrittes 'Son of Man' was something special
Indeed. The 60's original may be more iconic and famous, but Brosnan's 90's version is the better film.

The theme at the end in Thomas Crown is one of my favorites when hes being chased in the museum.
sat a table away from him in a small restaurant in santa monica once. i grew up on bond films so i was really stoked. he was very casual and relaxing with an older woman and he was very kind to her and very classy. i didn’t want to disturb him because i’m not about that life but it was really cool to see him. certainly a great man.
its the charm he has beats the brutal force that daniel craig plays in bond , he has the style while craig has the muscle

I remember watching Remington Steele in the 80s, thinking this guy was born to play James Bond. When he eventually did, I thought he was amazing. But I'm glad he moved on and has played some pretty cool roles after that.

I saw Pierce for the first time in Mrs Doubtfire without knowing him. Then I saw his four Bond movies then I rewatched Mrs Doubtfire and when I saw him playing his little game with Miranda I was like "007 ! Seriously ?".
That ending was so unexpected and amazing. Love The Matador.

Thomas Crown is one of my favorite of his films (also the Matador, as Stephen said). One of the few remakes that have been well done. I actually re-watch it once in a while. I have to say that Russo's performance doesn't quite hold up as time has gone by (not terrible but you do see some hiccups here and there).

Arm wrestling at 20 paces. Had a drink with him at Alice's Restaurant, the local watering hole in Malibu. We weren't friends by any means but we sat next to each other a couple of times at the bar. This was a few months before his first James Bond movie came out that propelled him to stardom. A super guy and down to earth. Flip Wilson and Johnny Carson also frequented the place. Andy, the bartender used to make what we call "Andy's Candy" and it tasted like a strawberry smoothie but after two servings, you're out. Unfortunately, you just can't have one, or two, or three. It's addictive and I remember having three one time but I don't remember driving home. I'll sign off now. I'm late for my AA meeting.

I have never been able to watch the films with Dalton and the films with Craig because in my heart in those films he should have had Mr Brosnan. We could have had him from 1986 to today. It would have been wonderful to see Bond's character mature and grow old with Brosnan. I've always felt ripped off as a fan.
I know that for some, especially die hard Steve McQueen fans this will sound sacrilegious but I think that the remake of Thomas Crown was actually better than the original, which is really rare.

I adore this man so much. Not only is he a handsome man but he is a beautiful human being. His love for both his wives and his children is just amazing. Especially like how he defends his present wife from the scurrilous attacks of the press and trolls about her weight. Just please don't let him sing again in the new Mama Mia. Dub him!!
One of my all time favorite thriller is a movie he made called 'Shattered' aka Butterfly On A wheel.
Don't forget his awesome performance as Ian Dunross in Noble House! I'd love to see Pierce Brosnan reprise that role in a sequel limited series!
