Yep, for me it was family time. Pizza or fish and chips, Hey Hey and then a movie. Very simple family stuff that had us crying with laughter. I miss those times too. 😀
Oh yeh. Grew up with it from a Saturday morning kids show with Hey Hey it's Darl n Ozzie to the end. Times were so much more pure and simple back in the 70 and 80s. Things really started going downhill from the 90s I reckon
OMG the memories this bad boy brings back. I saw this as a kid on TV then 23 years later I saw Tripod live in my home town and they are still the same 3 dudes... better with age and still funny as ever!!!!
@@Friendship1nmillion I used to work with Steven at Briz31 for about a year, the last I heard he was performing on cruise ships. Also, LOVE Tripod, have seen them live in the past and amazing to see that they are still performing to this day!
Nah it's better today now we have social media and we can not talk to anyone and hate each other more efficiently, don't you think? If you don't agree with me i'll get you cancelled.
I felt sorry for John in this one, he possibly had a great song, got gonged off before getting to the chorus, and was followed by a strong stand-up comedian, and then the great Tripod!
Steffi is going on vacation Brenton Ellis game show tonight so Saturday night Friday night party 🎉 Saturday night 🎊 Saturday weekend the kids and the girls 👧 and then the icon Monday Friday eaglewk Saturday Sunday weekend school holiday program 🎉celebrate with us on the 😊😊😊🎉
Trust me Terry, life was simpler. I’m in my 60’s & really miss having a good laugh without people getting offended. Good family entertainment with your kids & anyone else that was at the house.
@@josiequintela7238I’ll be 68 next month and I remember 3 generations of us laughing each week with the rest of the family. It’s hard to imagine a TV show now that brings a family together like that simply to just laugh. 🥰
I remember meeting Todd Woodbridge as a kid. Was 9 or 10 at the Australian Open. Weird but awesome guy. Signed all our autographs, chatted with us, awesome bloke, no ego. Then he just wandered off randomly. I remember the security guard saying aloud, looking around: "Where did Woodbridge go?"
LOVE Tripod! Saw them live a few years ago...their cover of Radiohead's 'Paranoid Android' which can be found on TH-cam is spine chilling to listen to. All of their comedy songs are awesome as well, so it's great to see what they were like right at the beginning of their long careers!
This show was like ostrich soup for the soul on a cold winters saturday night that everyone in Australia watched, just a shame they cannot afford the electricity to make a modern version of it.
Tripod were great. The only complaint is they were professional. Red Faces was a show where people came on to make idiots of themselves which is what made it funny.
4:00 Todd Woodbridge now suffers the ignominy of hosting "Tipping Point" out of either Station GTV-Melbourne or Station TCN-Sydney. How he has plummeted since his tennis days!
These were the best times growing up in Australia 🇦🇺.
I really miss Hey Hey....times were simple and people had fun!!

I miss Hey Hey it's Saturday, always loved tuning in each week especially for Red Faces. TV shows these days just don't have the same flair.

That second guy was so unlucky he was on the same show as Tripod.
Yeah , although I wonder where he is now . He seems to be a great comedic talent . ♑️✍️🇳🇴🇦🇺

@@acd6835 good to hear he made a go of it. Wouldn't be a bad lifestyle for a while.
Not to mention the first guy. Going out with a comedy song he probably thought was pretty decent before hearing Tripod.
@@acd6835 They're also doing composition with Austin Wintory for games...
The good old days of watching Hey Hey with the entire family, no smart phones or high speed internet

Those were the days, when no one got offended & just enjoyed the moment with a good laugh.
I watched it as a kid for the caricatures and Ozzy 😃
Tripod are a freaking national treasure :)
So much to love about this whole video, I miss the humor back then, it wasn’t forced.
Came here to see Tripod and ended up seeing my year 10 maths teacher John Fowler!
that's crazy..... so cool :)
Nah, bugger it, he gave me a C

My uncle was John Fowler..and funnily he was the lighting director for channel 9 Melbourne
Still loving Tripod after all these years.
And this is obviously where the Axis of awesome got their four chord song idea and probably many others. Tripod were pioneers.
My thoughts, too.
Entirely possible they came up with it independently
you said the quiet part out loud.
You won't see TV like this anymore... Hey Hey was compulsory viewing ... funny as in a much simpler age ... just all 'round good fun.
I miss the 90's, maybe because i was a child then and life was simpler. Or because everything was better then....

Fair dinkum that is a bit weird lol
I guess he found his tipping point!
@@littleblackcat2273 😂😂😂 I get the pun. Seeing that he is now the host of Tipping Point, Australia.
These voices are as familiar as my Mum, Dad and siblings. They really were part of the family.
Fukn oath aye 😂
Same:)
Takes you right back to the loungeroom..strange feeling. Tripod and the Oasis medley have stuck in my head all this time
Tripod reminds me of how Axis of Awesome came up with their Four Chords Song. Glad they won.

Great song. Ball park music cover it too.
this australia doesnt exist anymore RIP
if this came back on live TV I might actually watch TV
No you wouldn’t, why? Because it wouldn’t be the same with all the woke idiots.
Hey hey it’s Saturday was one of the best shows ever.
This show was like ostrich soup for the soul on a cold winters saturday night that everyone in Australia watched, just a shame they cannot afford the electricity to make a modern version of it.
It’s so disappointing that they don’t make comedians like this anymore
Nearly 30 years later and I'm watching Todd Woodbridge on Tipping Point.....
Grammy nominated act Tripod in 2024
... and based on this performance, Todd Woodbridge went on to host the Aussie version of Tipping Point in 2024.
John Fowler is one of my old maths teachers. Top bloke.
My favourite shows as a kid was probably this and agros cartoon connection. Great tongue in cheek humour when no one got offended for no reason.
Yes, the stand up was his own kind of funny, a natural.😅😂
I can't believe the stuff we sat through in the 90s when the entertainment options were so slim
The Oasis medley is the most 1996 thing.
Before there was X Factor, there was Red Faces.
2:57 them lyrics really hit me in the feels
I think red loved the comedian. He let him do his whole routine.
Dude was hilarious
I wonder if Axis of Awesome saw this and got some ideas haha
I was waiting for Perkins to bust out the lyre
Precursor to the 4 chord song by the other 3 guys?
You can tell they were special.
Thanks for posting. What's with all the Harry Connick Jr. tshirts? Was that a dig after the 'incident'?
I love tripod!
Tripod were very good weren't they!
The first guy was the best.
Back when Aussies had a great sense of humour and pulled the P out of each other
I swear I thought John Fowler was Richard o’Brian
Tripod were awesome 🙂
The best
Proves there is a time a place for everyone everything... They have had their time and place...
Wow, Todd looked so young back then!
Tripod were great. The only complaint is they were professional. Red Faces was a show where people came on to make idiots of themselves which is what made it funny.

I was hoping the first guy won 🏆
All he won was all our hearts.

Mr Woodbridge from hey hey to point less

Almost 30 years later and nothing since.
Wow
Back when Yon had hair!!!
Doug Anthong All Stars 🌟
back when they'd let any old crank on tv
Gee what do you have to do to get a 10

John Fowler 😂😢😮

That was someone from the Axis of Awesome, not Tripod
