The camshafts have holes that line up with the end caps on the timing belt side. If you put a small allen wrench through the hole on end cap and then camshaft it will line up those camshafts. Then you only need to make sure your crankshaft is lined up on it's mark which is located on the topside of crankshaft and engine block. Doing this avoids the hassle of marking the timing belt.

Hi, thanks for the video! This is a great one!
I got my mechanic to bust loose my crank pulley for me. The problem is I can’t get the engine nuts loose. I’ve soaked them in deep creep many times over days, hit them with a big big hammer, tried a bid breaker bar. Now one nut is starting to get rounded corners…..
I will go to somebody in the neighborhood next.

I broke a breaker bar during my first one. Thank god for impact guns tho. On the real those crank pulleys are one of the hardest bolts I have ever gotten off. For those who work on Honda’s especially on this level invest in a really good impact gun

You should put the valve cover ground strap on the nearest valve cover stud to get it grounding the engine properly. When it’s on that timing belt cover bolt hole, it’s actually isolated from the engine by the valve cover gasket, so it’s not actually grounding anything.

    • @Wrenchlife604

    • @Wrenchlife604

Yah make shure it didnt skip a tooth. But id take off the top cover and valve cover. Verifiy the cams line up. And on the crank pulled you will see 3 sets of lines. And a odd line less than a cm away from the 3 grouping. Thats the tdc line. Make shure the tdc mark lines up to the crank pointer and the cams face up .

Use the same technique i used and kinda micro shake it and pull and it should come out. Never had a honda one get stuck. Avoid using a torch because theres a seal behind there that you can wreck.
