Top informative upload ! A handy refresher on how you set up your Blake’s and setting the gauge. Great to hear your views on wall ties and insulation and top tip on laser level to put your wall connectors up straight 👏 I liked the look of that marshalltown trowel ! Thanks for the upload Andy enjoy your 🍻
good vid , iv worked for builders who tell you just pull off the existing and keep courses , they just assume both corners are gauged the same , find out when the front of the new brickwork is run in
Great video! I loved the bent ties for holding the insulation below damp. I haven't done this sort of work for years. But I'll be thinking of some of your tips if I do build another extension 👍
Brilliant video mate! Really like how you used the Lazer and evened up the joints 💪 totally agree with those starter packs, naff Best of luck with the extension and those LBCs 💪
Blakes are the simplest of things to put up . I struggle to believe that brickies set out footings and build houses , extensions and factory units and struggle with Blakes . I think it speaks volumes about todays 'Line Monkey's' . 👍🏴

Best value boots I have found that last are the dewalt titanium. I get at least 9 months out of them and if I manage to keep the lime from rotting the stitching I have had them last 18 months, they're really comfortable out of the box too 👍🏻
@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 ok mate. So the gap thats left is filled with mortar when u push it as far as it will go. Maybe a dumb question from a non brickie 👍
Top video Andy i have been putting the ties in with the triangle to the left as you do for the last 25 years after a discussion with a clerk of the works. What is the range of your laser am thinking of getting one.
Visually not that far in daylight but with the receiver I think it goes to 50m, if I bought one now I would go for the green beam it's just easier to see.
Lovely to watch as always. I asked a while ago for you to show how you put the profile against the existing building, outer leaf or internal corner. You kind of skimmed over that bit. Next time your at the job, any chance of showing the gallows bracket set up? Cheers Andy
How much was the brick saw Andy , I always lay my reveal half’s that way , looks neater and so much easier if you have to fit the cavity closures yourself ! Great video 👍
Hello Andy, great video as always, really helps me out. On the gallows bracket to hold the profile on the existing corner yd pulling from. Is that fixed with Dutch pins? Are they just fixed into mortar?
Superb video buddy yeah vertical damp cut up at building nonsense never done it also. Haix work boots 1 of the best about buddy but expensive last the time.
Shop about get them for £130,s. These boots are great. First pair a had took a good week to break in since they been brilliant when get pair feet must used normally lasts 8 months probs last longer if dried them out etc when in and concrete cement and all sorts proper good gortex boot with top ankle protection.
Showing the old boys can still slap the bricks down Andy. Unlike Budd. That man has been in a small footing for months building brick. Dead lice falling off him 🤣
You saying about the ties I was working with a foreign lad and he put diamond ties upside down believe it or not and on the same doe foreman didn't notice till after and didn't say a thing disgusting
Why ever. Would you build a corner when you using profiles. the idea of profiles so you don't Have to build a corner. Mind you what would I know I've only been on the trowel for 45 years.
Well I've been doing it longer than you then,if you listened to the video I do it as I mostly work on my own, often with no labourer so dont want to stretch myself especially in Winter with loads of muck boards full up with gobbo when it starts pissing down and you have to clear that lot up on your own. Each to there own but as long as you are laying bricks you are earning money, time spent clearing up costs you money.

Hey mate , all I know is with wall ties is water can’t run up hill,
So after the first drip 💧 that’s it.
Great channel 😊🤙
And the profile wedge tip is an absolute Belter, I’ve lost loads down the inside of the scaffold!! 🤙
A Brilliant little journey love it 🇬🇧🔨🧱
Love your videos Andy I have some old bucket handles can you do a video on how to make a jointer from a old bucket handle .cheers buddy 👍
Will do mate.
Brilliant video as usual Andy I'll look into that Facebook page mate well done mate
Good looking brickwork Andy. How far away from the wall do the wall starters jut out ?
Not sure what you mean? They go central👍
@@bricklayersworldwithandy6277 Andy. When a brick or block touches the rail how far away from the wall is it. 🤔

Nice and tidy work mate how come no dpc cut in to exsisting building in centre of cavity building control go nuts if not in
Did explain it in the Vid David, BC our way don't allow it as it weakens the existing structure, never done it in47 years.
Very interesting, not least about the garden walls built with 'burrs'.
Set your wall starter 15mm in. You can use your line pin behind the wall starter as a line profile instead of racking back
I've shown that on another video, prefer to put the line on a finger trowel it slides behind the wall starter better than a pin.

Great work Andy cup tea with no bacon buddy that's a crime 😜
Do you find you have had to adjust the top screws with the fitzbrick corner block mate? I find on the next lift it steps in a bit.
No not had that.
Hmm strange. Think I might be unlucky. Couldn’t do me a favour and measure how far your top bolts stick out from the profile please?

Hello Andy
I bought the Fitzbrick dori blocks for my Blake’s profiles, and found I had to adjust the top adjuster nut.
Am I a fool?
Should never have to adjust the top nut,if it worked with the Blakes nylon line clip it should work with the Fitz.
Just seemed to push in from my dpc
Is there a measurement for that top nut?
Many thanks i
Proper job love the videos
1.538 + 76.9 = 1.614.9 but whos splitting hairs 😅 . Sorry couldn't help myself.

Great vid as always Andy. Can’t be doin listening to Scott Mills , bring back Steve

Hi Andy how long did you spend in Australia, i came in 88 and still here, why did you go home
I was there in 82 for a year and been back a couple of times since for a few months, Perth.
I always thought it was the first slope of the tie going down towards the centre of the cavity if that’s make sense😂
I think Furfuix are crap I can’t remember the hight it says that can hold but I don’t fancy it at all
I've never been a fan of dirty cavities!
Every tried thunderbolt or concrete screws. No Rawl plug. Drill drive done. Bosh! I use them for wallplates. Half the time
Yes mate, use them all the time👍
