Where is this filmed? I see Florida Winter Party.
TEC 180 “Grab and Go”. LOL! 😂 I thought only ZWO products are “Grab and Go”.

Yes - Florida Star Party. And you're right, more grab and leave in one place!

Super cool, my dob is 10”, just how much more can you see in comparison? I’ve never had an opportunity to look through a larger scope.

It’s amazing! Details and star clouds visible in galaxies; surface markings on Jovian moons; Sirius affects your night vision. Amazing!

I have been on the astrophysics waiting list for 10 year's. Lol. I broke down and bought a 6 inch apm apo and a eq6 pro mount. 😢

Had to sell two awesome telescopes over the years because of two dumb broads. Got my 3rd scope and learnt my lessons. 3rd scope is better than the other two scopes i had combined. To all amateur astronomers out there, if your forced into a situation of the scope or the broad choose the scope any way possible!!!!

That made me chuckle - I hope all is well with your choices these days.

0:10 “bought this from a gentleman who is on his 4th wife”… hmm I wonder what was causing his divorces😂

Still going strong, no issues. I was wondering to give is a strip down, regrease and tighten up the backlash this summer but there is no need to - other than my OCD!

Excellent cinematography. You could really feel the "Don't drop the phone on the mirror" as it peaked over the top of the uta.

Wow! I have only dreamed about getting a dob that big. I would settle for a 22". Awesome scopes and thanks to Mr. Pickering for sharing with us

Fantastic truss tube Newtonian’s, sir Issac Newton would be very gratified to see how much his optical system is used in so many mounting configurations. The views must be stunning. That app refractor is a dream scope on a AP mounting, excellent OTA to mount ratio, perfect for top notch imaging. Thank you for sharing your scopes and the gentlemen doing the interview. From an ex Pom living at 53 degrees north to the last 55 years under magical southern skies at 42 South. Southern Cross Observatory-Tasmania.

Glad you enjoyed it and yes the views in the big dobs are amazing and nicely complement the razor sharp 'fracs. Very envious of your southern skies! Happy New Year to you.

Amazing setups and scopes! Did he transport them in a standard saloon car or even smaller?

    • @RefreshingViews

No he uses a small trailer. They all come apart but are still quite bulky.

Not sure who made the 28” mirror. The 22” was from Zambutos teacher - it’s mentioned somewhere but can’t recall the name now!!
