It's not a farm tractor, but hear me out. I am pretty close to 70 now, at 16 or 17 years old there was a union operator that put me on a Case 580 Construction King. I was his "laborer" and one day he got out of it and turned it off, had me grease it, check the oil, start it and move it. He gave me about a half hour to play with it to see what lever does what operation. He had me dig a trench for a septic leach field. That was the best thing a man could do for a boy I thought. Turned me into a Tractor Trailer (Lorrie) driver and mechanic, and operator, and general fix it. He was a gentleman and he is long gone but his gift to me that day has always stayed with me. If you are an operator do the same thing. You have no idea what will come of it. Thanks Muck!

My best tractor is a Doe 130 never driven one, but it is still the first clear memory l have of my dad.
I was four years old and mum had taken us out to the field to drop of some food for dad. We stood on the headland and watched the Doe coming towards us then stopping and out jumped my Dad from the cab. Very special memory.
    Great video.

The tractor that made the biggest impression on me as a kid is definitely the Doe Triple D/Doe 130...I was too young to drive one, but the sight & sound of a Triple D always gets my attention...possibly because my Dad worked for Does as a lorry driver...but seriously...what a machine!!.

I would say the Little Massy 35 is one the best due to the fact it reshaped farming life in general IE the PTO etc and still a good yard tractor to this day

What I like about your reviews is you don't push the product down the viewers throats, you say what you like about it and that in itself says it's worth considering. Great vid.

Would have to be a Massey Ferguson 399. I was 6 years old when the local farm had one delivered brand new in 1997 so it was the last of the aging 300 series line I think? It was and still is a true simplistic workhorse that still puts in a days work, the perfect partner to its 1994 390T stablemate. I grew up on those tractors and now my 6 year old son refers to the 399 as ‘The Big Tractor’ as it was to me. (Even though it isn’t the biggest on the farm by far anymore). So many memories created in that tiny tractor cab, for me the last tractor to have some soul. Real levers, simple switches and an engine note that still gives me goosebumps when it’s singing away mowing grass on a warm summer evening.

As a diesel mechanic, I have had a place in my heart(small place) for the Lanz Bulldog. It has an engine that runs both ways but it is one of the very few tractors that will idle at 0 RPM. I guess it is more the engine than the tractor as a whole that intrigues me.

My favourite tractor was the 1594, albeit some had not the best built quality it’s pure nostalgia, dads commemorative left when I was 9 n it was a good one as it took over from a 1494 so never was pushed mega hard to do the job , noisy , a bit dated, but that 6 pot compared to a turbo 4 pot … when I was 14 I bought a major , restored it, traded up, repeat, until I got my own 1594, at 34, the hydrashift modded one I told you about…. nostalgia is deadly…. Lol

John Deere 7930 has always had a high position on the old favourites list, seem to hold their value too which can tell you a lot.
I did cultivation work (discs and rigid tine cultivator) in a new 7R 310 last autumn with the command pro. I couldn't believe how smooth it was to drive and operate and loved the visibility compared to the previous generation. It handled the steep clay ground very well. Only downsides with it was the amount of AdBlue it went through, the marker lights are really bright and shine directly into the mirrors, the work lights shine into the cab, turning the windscreen into a big old mirror (good for restyling your hair, not great when you're trying to see where you're going lol), and when doing the 1000 hr service, I couldn't stop the fast flow of diesel from the fuel filter, even with the battery isolated, I had to take the pipe off and blank it so I could change the filters without loosing many litres of fuel. Lastly, it seemed front heavy and would recommend trialling different wheel weight and tyre pressure combinations to make the back end more planted. Other than that, it was the perfect tractor for the job and I'll happily spend many more hours in the seat.
I have been slowly catching up with your videos and would like to say that you're doing an awesome job, and to keep up the good work. Cheers Mucker!

Tough question Kurt, so much choice. So I went back to when I first started work. The farm had an eclectic range of tractors, Dexta, IH414 and 574, 135's, 165, 178 4WD, Zetors, DB880 even a Sambron Rough Terrain 4WD Forklift (that had a mind o0f it's own on the road) But if I had a choice for a job my go to machine was a Ford 5000 - so that's my choice.

My favourite tractors are blue ones! I grew up in the late 50s and 60s driving E1A Diesel Majors, Power Majors, Super Majors when these were regarded as big tractors! We had one Dexta from 59 mainly for loading Beet into a cleaner loader and into our old farm lorries. In the summer the Dexta was mostly used on “corn cart” with a 3 ton Wheatley trailer. It was my favourite being very fast( in its day) on the road and not light on the front like the Majors! I have recently bought myself a similar Dexta of the same age……! I think that says it all!😊

Spent a lot of time as a kid watching MBTracs working the fields. And as a teenager spent a lot of time in a Renault 106.14 I loved that thing. So for me, MB 1500 or the Renault 106.14

Another good one Mucker , for me I've always had a soft spot for the Nuffield 10/60 👌.
