I bought an AVS in 2015 while I was still in the USMC. Agree with all points, it's simply the best. It's just so phenomenal. I have other carriers but I couldn't care less about them, AVS is the only thing I'll grab in a hurry. Love the shaw concepts four wide placard and all your small upgrades. Getting kind of complicated with two cummerbunds and wings but owning one I know how easy it is to get in and out from the side. Side exit>>>>>>

@@btr-70 The AVS is great I had it for two years the ARC I’ve had for a year and half and tbh I just liked the way the arc carrier was slimmer than the AVS. Yes the harness of the AVS is amazing but for the arc it felt really comfortable as the AVS if not a little more in my personal opinion but for load bearing both are great it’s just personal preference tbh. watching again. I am impressed by your personal $ to have the best. I was the same way in my team. Most had 2 sets of gear. I was team supply NCO (and scrounger) Being ADCON to the Division, OPCON the FMFLANT/PAC we had to go by the ADCON SgtMaj and CO/XO. 1 set for inspections & formations. 1 set for ops and deployments. The field trainig was difficult as the SgtMaj was like Sixta in gen kill. CO was a Vietnam grunt and did not bother us in the field. but the SGtMaj who had missed out on everything was...well a dick. Team commander was Vietnam grunt and that helped a lot. We also shot a lot of our own money. Don't forget. Job related stuff is a tax deduction.

you can actually run the loose ends of the outer cummerbunds between the harness and the plate bag and tie them together with shock cord to give it stretch. I run the ARC cummerbund that way along with the AXL mini harness and AVS yoke. Its such a modular system that you really can make it into whatever you need it to be.

I've had an AVS for the longest time but no real chance to use it until I decided to get sneaky and use it on ARQ completely loaded up. I might not have been running around and doing cool shit but ill be damed with all SAPIs ontop of my gear + extra stuff just to weigh me down. As an 03 I’ve found the FCPCV5 to be the middle ground between the AVS and JPC. Crye is so outdated and they don’t care they have the contracts so they made it. If they made the AVS laser cut, and more adaptive they would crush it.

    • @TheGruntPerspective

Do you think you could feature a medic in these videos? There’s seems to be no good way to carry a standard combat load plus a pouch with bleed control, airway control (including a cric kit), respiratory treatment( including a pulse ox and emma) plus narcs on person, plus ccp stuff, in a pouch that’s easily accessible that isn’t too bulky or in the way of combat equipment. Funny (infuriatingly) enough, our BC forced a Battalion wide gear SOP. Three double singles on front, IFAK on the far left side of the cumberbund so you'd hang up on every door you went through, two frags on the chest like a pair of tits, no tucked in blouses, and absolutely no non-issued kit. F*ckin sick. 2/4 was in a sad state under Brian's regime.

I had a AVS in Afghanistan back in 2013, my unit commander and SGM went fucking ape shit that I had it. So I had to put my stupid gen 1 IOTV back on. I would’ve rather had the older IBA. God forbid if you try to invest in better gear than they issue you to be more combat effective. Ran it in
The field and over the pond quite a bit. Awesome carrier. Still holds up by todays standards and it’s all I use as a LEO now and flat range larping
