Why didn't you played the Gamecube version, since in that version you also have the choice to play as a girl and Jamie becomes the opposite gender of your player character.
Because I owned the Wii version already and it was the one I played as a kid. Trust me though if I didn’t already have the Wii version I woulda invested in GameCube.
i bought magical melody from eBay because I mistook it for my favourite one (animal parade) because they're both Wii games. i was really sad so my opinion is biased negatively, and I'm watching this video to see if I was just being dramatic ill report back later 🫡 Update: just finished the video. my main gripe was with the graphics and the music personally, in comparison to animal parade (which tbf I could have been looking through nostalgia goggles) it felt very cheap and almost like a bootleg, and I also didn't like that there was no gender selection (I am a guy anyway but justice for the girls). that in combination with your observation that the characters had quite bland and 2D dialogue/personality makes me believe this game is not meant to have a dating system, and marriage is more of a milestone or achievement than a storyline maybe?
This is 100% fair. I am actually playing allegedly the worse version of the game. Generally online spaces say GameCube version is better (and it does have the female option actually!!). I will say that I forgot to talk about the rival love cutscenes and those were actually pretty cute but like the two minute scenes did not justify the slog lol. But yeah you’re totally right marriage is just a means to an end to get all the notes. You can actually end the game another way by marrying Jaime so like it kinda is just a thing. Thanks for watching!
I've always enjoyed some Harvest Moon myself.
Haven't played this so am watching to see what I'm missing
Incredible names on the farm animals.
So nostalgic! I was also very into tree of tranquility but never got the chance to finish it before losing my wii lol
