      Tenspeed TheBikeHanger I agree with you. I wanted to see all the tools I would need to last me a life time with an honest person who isn’t trying to sell me something I wouldn’t have a use for. I just heard from someone else who posted about making sure when he makes something it has to be used for more than one use or he won’t do it. I think of this with tools as well. We all can’t buy top of the line tools unless it’s a trade we are going to either make money off of it or because it’s a necessity to do what we do in the DIY world.

      I plan on going back to that last video and updating my apt. tool kit. I have most of the stuff, just not well organized. The video will be my chance to get organized.

    • @turnersparadise8368
      @turnersparadise8368 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@juliestevens6931 I have many thoughts on those types of videos. I will keep most to myself, but I do want to suggest something to you. There is a wisdom to buying the best tools you can afford, I would not argue that point. But, you also have to ask yourself how good a tool you really need. Are you going to be using it every day? Does it necessarily have to last a lifetime? Another big problem I have with these lists is they just simply cannot be comprehensive. They cannot cover all the bases. By buying cheaper tools you can afford more tools. A Harbor Freight socket set is enough for many people, and very affordable compared to Snap-On. Maybe it is a case where you need something to start and you can replace these cheaper tools down the road as you become established. Just a thought here. Also, my advice is stock up on different glues like epoxy, CA, wood glue, RTV silicon rubber...knowing these things have a shelf life get small bottles but keep them handy. Get a 4 pack of squeeze clamps. They are expensive, around $50 I believe for the 4 pack two big two small. But you can use these things for so many things. Also different adhesive tapes such as duct tape, Gorilla tape, scotch tape, and plenty of masking tape. Zip ties in different sizes are indispensable. If Cody covered a toilet plunger I don't know why he left these items off. They are low dollar, don't take much room in a drawer or cupboard, and will pay for themselves over and over for anyone in any walk of life. Especially younger apartment dwellers that don't have shops full of nails, screws and other hardware.

    • @juliestevens6931
      @juliestevens6931 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@turnersparadise8368 Great advice! I have already started to implement the adhesives/tapes/zip ties/etc. that you suggest. My tools are mostly inherited from my dad who worked for Sears, so I have lots of Craftsman stuff. I have been adding to my tools for over 40 years, so have had a chance to buy slowly and carefully (as best I know how). Mostly I need to get organized.

    That is an interesting tool for snow removal. One thing folks should keep in mind, if you have a lot of wet heavy snow you might want to remove the snow evenly from both sides. Removing all the snow on one side of the roof might cause the roof to collapse. Be safe.

    As a truck driver in Rochester stops for a red light, a girl catches up. She jumps out of her car, runs up to his truck, and knocks on his door. The trucker lowers the window, and she says "Hi, my name is Heather and you are losing some of your load."
    The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street. When the truck stops for another red light, the girl again catches up. She jumps out of her car, runs up and knocks on the door. Again, the trucker lowers the window. And, as if they've never spoken, the blonde says brightly, "Hi, my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!"
    Shaking his head, the trucker ignores her again and continues down the street.
    At the third red light, the same thing happens again. All out of breath, the girl gets out of her car, runs up, knocks on the truck door. The trucker lowers the window. Again she says "Hi, my name is Heather, and you are losing some of your load!"
    When the light turns green, the trucker revs up and races to the next light. When he stops this time, he hurriedly gets out of the truck, and runs back to her. He knocks on her window, and as she lowers it, he says:
    "Hi, my name is Kevin, it is winter and I'm driving the SALT TRUCK!!"

    Love it having fun with the fam .Down here in Southern California we’ve had a lot of rain the last week and today was the first day of blue sky . My daughter and I spent the afternoon turning over our stepping stones and bricks along the driveway hunting for worms . My Lil angel is almost 3 and loves to go out and hunt them with her Papa all afternoon today and had a blast she lets them crawl On her hands and her boots and just laughs and laughs . Then takes her lil bucket with 50+ in it and runs into the house all I hear is Momma scream in horror LOL... Oh these moments with her are priceless soak it up , all those who have kids it’s the lil things that matter we can only take our memories with us so make as many as you can ....

    the problem with the tool video is that youve done a few similar to it before so the subscribers get bored of it sadly.
    Though it is interesting to see which tools you pick out and see the ones that have survived the test of time because you always get so many tools and you get so excited over them and make a video going "oh my word this is the best xyz i have ever used i will just throw away all of the others and use this forever" and thats usually a few months after you gotten the same type of tool which was also "the best ever, i will keep forever" but there are some tools that you just keep coming back to. it's those ones I keep my eye on!
    Also, what ever happened to the hoffman axe? I still watch all of his vids thanks to you, so glad he has upgraded from his pokey little shop to a proper warehouse now

It worked great, only bad thing is if you are a a young kid running around the yard, and a dad who didn't have the pole with the safety rubber handle end on it, and he smacks you in the face with a steel pole as you go by and then need to get stitches lol.

    Funny, our house has boards and wings to keep the snow on the roof. It's an added layer of insulation. Then, we don't tend to get four feet of heavy, wet snow, from any single storm. We're in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.

    Man it is so beautiful there!! I would kill to see snow on the ground! Schools are closed if we get 1/4 inch here in north MS

    (This is a comment I wanted to post on your last video... it would’ve been lost in the sea though) 😅
    I love making my own content, that’s why I love TH-cam... and when you find that gold mine of small channels who are real, and original. It’s awesome, that’s what TH-cam is supposed to be all about, being yourself, sharing life, experiences, ideas. If I want to make a video of one of my flights, or Bible study, or building a flint and steel fire, or shooting guns, or making something with my knife, or sharing knowledge, I can do that! It’s not governed by people paying me for certain content... or what the masses want, it’s where my heart leads me, that’s what I’ll post.
    But now, you can’t really find these small channels anymore, because the advertisement game is too heavily promoted... to the point where if you want to grow a channel, it’s very hard... so sad

      Check out 'Idaho Hillbilly'. Great people that pretty much embody what you describe.

      Keep making videos and posting them, it is harder to get your channel noticed now because there is a lot of channels out there but have faith, your channel will grow. :)

      I have a small channel putting content out on my experiences, and it is tough to grow without spamming the rest of social media. Even with less than 40 subs, I know some of my stuff is getting seen, two large channels recently used a video of mine in their complications. I was stoked! Makes me want to get more up rather, just waiting on the muse to hit me.

    Very nice glasses.
    Let's hope the company doing these goggles is ok with you wearing it at home and not while skiing. 😂
    Edit: And I liked the 20 tools video very much!!! Please continue! Even if the audience may not be big for that kinda topic, you are helping us young people, even if we are few here on your channel! (I assume we are few, no offense) And I think it's very true what you said about when you have all these tools you can help the ladies and save their day! 👌
    Love your videos. Always a good message, good information, good editing and nice camera angles / moving camera / drone shots.
    May you live long.
    Sorry for my bad english.

    It's funny as an adult how you know how everything around you tastes. Without licking them. From drywall to wood to different plastics to plants and on and on. Apparently somewhere along the line we had to have tested everything.

    I’m surprised someone hasn’t commented complaining about how sweet leaf was eating a ice sickle. It’s ridiculous how far people will go to complain about something.
