      You really need to try the Knipex pliers-wrench. They work in place of a crescent wrench but with way less/virtually no chance of slippage as they grip tighter as you put more effort on them. I have two of the 10", one 12" and am about to order the 16". As a plumber & gasfitter for 31 years I give them a professional tradesman's endorsement.

    Watching Cody do these projects takes me back to my days on my step-dad's farm following him around mostly watching him make these kinds of repairs. I'd help some, but mostly I was too young to do much. I learned so much about being a man from my step-dad, and it's heart-warming to see Cody doing the same for his son and any viewers who care to learn.

    The amazing job you’ve done raising Jack motivates me to be a better father to my 10 year old boy. I started watching your channel maybe 4 years ago and I’ve learned more than I could have ever imagined learning from TH-cam videos. Because of you, instead of getting my son an Xbox or an IPad, I got him a .22 rifle and his own tool set for his 10th birthday and our relationship is strong as can be. Thank you Cody and Mrs. W for being truly awesome.

    I know I'm pedantic here and I know what you really mean so I apologize in advanced, please ignore this pet peeve rant, I love your channel and the content you make. Ram pumps are awesome and as someone who works in the water/waste water industry it's really cool to see such a useful application of water hammer. But Ram pumps don't work with "no energy" and they're not a "free energy" machine. Without the kinetic energy created by the water traveling from a higher location to where your pump is and that energy being redirected in a sudden moment through water hammer there would be no lift. What you mean is they work without any external electrical or mechanical power supply.

    • @alexmussman6372
      @alexmussman6372 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was going to say the same thing. The moving water IS the energy. No such thing as free energy.

    • @Jasfras1
      @Jasfras1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your interpretation of FREE.
      If you pay for the apparatus but not for the energy that drives it. Then the energy IS free. e.g. At no cost to the user.

    • @supercow75
      @supercow75 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jasfras1 makes a good point but I was thinking the same thing Matthew. Engineering/Physics wise it isn't free energy but taking advantage of potential energy. Economics wise after initial investment it is free.

    I've been watching your channel on and off for what.. 7? years now?
    As much as I always enjoy seeing how a channel grows, how the type of content changes, or the presentation, even their house/property, I think the craziest thing is seeing the children on the channels I've watched for upwards of a decade now just.. grow up.
    Seeing Jack as an actual young man is pretty crazy to me. I wonder how crazy it will be if I'm still watching/youtube still exists in 15 years, to see your daughter on a machine doing work or in the kitchen canning or what have you with mom.
    Still really enjoy your channel/content. Thanks for the years of entertainment and education.

    when I was a boy... my family utilized a RIFE 40HDU heavy duty ram to pump water about a mile out of a steep canyon to our house. it was my job to keep it running most of the time. the force of the pressure it was pushing against would sheer the valve bolts off. Bought some of the parts to build a Ram pump on our new river property, super excited! Some of your older videos on the ram pump were helpful for sure. Curious to see whats up your sleeve for the rebuild. Also, that new rode mic sounds nice and the video looks great!

    Great video! I liked how you asked Jack how he was doing and if he needed help and left him to it. Good job Dad!! It is really a shame the post office crates don't have screws on them that could use some good lock-tite:( :P Can't wait to see your new ram-pump!

    Support your local USPS! Love the Sharktite cameo! I always enjoy the ram pump videos. Was just wondering the other day if you still used it and how it was working. Such an intriguing piece of ingenuity. I'd love to build one myself, but have no need for it and nowhere to test it. Way to go Jack! 30 hours?! Just imagine how long it used to take with nothing but an ax, shovel and a mule!

    Very enjoyable video. Great sound, video quality and editing. It probably embarrasses Jack when we grandpa types say how proud we are of him- but we are!
