If your refering to conservitive Christianity they not actually Christians as they don't follow the teachings of Jesus. Easy first test Christians could never turn away refugies after all Jesus was a refuge fling to Egypt. His famly not Roman citizens the Govenor of Egypt a direct Roman apointment could have refused entry to citizens of the vassel state of Judia who were ruled by their King who by that period had been doing a fair number of attrocities. Under Herald the Romans mostly let him do what he wished.
I am in my 40's now and I remember in Elementary school critical thinking was encouraged. But when my kids was in school they wasn't taught half the things they needed, No spelling, social studies, or language arts. But they need to do some work hours to graduate. I'm beginning to see why.

The Catholic Inquisition, which went on for hundreds of years, is a good example of what can, and did happen when a church is allowed to become a governing political body. And It wasn’t that long ago. Many churches that are operating now are political entities. The priests openly direct the parishioners on exactly how to vote, and thus the imposition of the Catholics’ views on reproductive rights, which they push upon the entire country. I grew up Catholic so I’m well acquainted with its methods of brain washing & control.
Many are prolife because they believe life begins at conception, not because of a Bible verse.

I remember a film from South African prime minister tin the 1940-ties. He states that the ideology and ruling system of the South African apartheid regime is "christian nationalism". He explains in this interview that: "In Germany they called it nazism, here we call it Christian Nationalism. But our ideologies are identical". MSNBC has research resources to find that film. People need to be aware of the similarities between Christian Nationalism - Apartheid and the Nazi ideology.

Mehdi Hasan referred to the aforementioned political campaign rhetoric as such and I believe it is an appropriate term for the practice of using such language. While there are exceptions - and I've seen a few - most dogs aren't known for their rational thought processes. The "dog whistle" is only meant to elicit a response from the dog and it is an unthinking, reflexive response that is learned by receiving approval and treats for responding in a certain way. Cat calls are an entirely different thing and something your mother probably would not approve, nor should you.
So what's happening to the principle of "Separation of the church and state"? Radicalism of all forms, whether it's policatal or religious is dangerous.
The state got into the churches side where they shouldn't be. The church is supposed to take care of the widows, fatherless, pour and needy. The constitution is all about honoring the creator God and Jesus Christ his son who gave us our rights. We don't believe in fake Gods like muslim, Buddhism, the pope. Government is to searve the people and the creator.
...but in politics they can change whereas in religion they won't change no matter how wrong they are. With religion to change means their entire doctrine has failed. This is why religion is so evil.

If DeSantis truly was for freedom, he wouldn’t be attempting to impose religious rule across the United States. He would listen to the will of the majority, not the minority. Religion has zero place in politics, and should not be used as a dog whistle to the pseudo-religious extremists in this country that use their religion as cover for committing evil against others.
If you want freedom, then you must accept that people can live as they want, as long as they are not harming others or infringing on their rights, regardless of whether you agree with their way of life or not. When the government starts to infringe on the individual rights of the people under the guise of religious mandate, then the government no longer stands for freedom but demonstrates that it is an enemy of freedom.

They explicitly hated the "weakness" of the Christian message of care towards the old, weak and sick etc., all categories of people that they wanted to exterminate. There are a few churches out there that do preach about politics, their enemies which turns into a rant & “God is on our side” losing speeches.
It took me a long time looking for a church on & off on weekends in search of one that sermoned on the Scriptures of God’s word.
And I found one that’s helped open my eyes so much more with His love, mercy, salvation, promises & a love that I didn’t know existed.
I do wish you luck & do not give up on a church, I can’t tell you how good a congregation feels when your all together.
It’s what we do together when we need a good word and/or a prayer & they’re always around.
It is a good feeling deep in your heart❣️

@@wisenfunny thank you and trust & believe, that I’ve traveled that same journey, leaving church after church and finding the devil himself, until God put in my spirit that it’s not just the building that house Him, His strongest dwelling is in our hearts, which set me on a path as Jesus walked, where I met Christians on the streets, in homeless shelters and in drug houses. It was an amazing journey, that showed me my purpose in this life. I’m not giving up on finding that Church building, I just want to be well prepared to enter it. It’s a pleasure encountering a like spirited, as yourself and if our Heavenly Father sees fit, we’ll definitely encounter another time. Until that time, stay blessed, safe and joyful. 🙏🏿

The principle of the separation of church and state came from Roger Williams who is the primary progenitor of the Baptist tradition in the American colonies. The descendants of the Providence Experiment (now the area around Providence, RI) influenced Congregational ministers who then wrote the primary letter to the drafters of the constitution to ensure that the new country enshrines freedom for and freedom from religion.
Williams' experiment specifically created a community that valued organizing civil society whether or not the individuals are people of faith. That was in 1632. Nearly 400 years ago.

You know as an atheist from Germany where we have much much more separation of church and state in everyday life (although churches still have enormous privileges), it is really really strange to me all this talk about god in political speeches. Even our christian democratic party would never talk about god in this extensive way on every possibility available. Also you wouldNEVER hear a political leader or chancellor say:God bless Germany. That would be considered VERY STRANGE and misplaced. No one talks about their personal religious beliefs here. There have been discussions about having crosses hanging in classrooms a few years ago but that only was in the most religious state of Bavaria and not even their secretary of state would regularly comment on religion or even say „god bless Germany“ on a regular basis when he does politics. America is really really strange, even without the Christian nationalist movement.
