With the distance of years to gain perspective, I am glad there were some happy, affectionate, even loving times. Sad they didn't last. They were both mired in their upbringings; she naive and looking for a secure, whole family, he entrenched in tradition and duty. And, his unresolved relationship with his great love. I feel so sorry for all of her torment and sadness. I am happy to read that she worked so hard on herself and was finding meaning and peace.
