Daryl is a true brother by looking for Rick until the end and being there for Michonne. He foreshadowed the Whisperers, some people are so evil they are wearing it like a mask.

I love how you guys actually understand the show and pick up on the small things.. I don’t understand how some people were confused to why Michonne was pregnant.. I immediately knew it was a flashback.. The episode was great though!
There time jumps are a bit confusing to follow and I’m not even sure how many kids are on the show,

I don't know if it's the little actress or the script for her, but she's a little too precocious and "all wise and all knowing" for me. She's a child and yet she is always saying some smart ass remark to the adults like she is one, schooling them like she is some sage warrior when she's really been a pampered, sheltered princess behind the walls of a thriving community.
@@GoB1996 I understand she's smart, but she speaks to the adults like she is their equal, and not a child. That is what irks me. "That's what I thought" " Look how well that turned out for you" etc. I was a smart child, but I still knew my place. She doesn't seem to.
I think the branding was a method of control for her over the kids as well as desensitizing them to the brutal ways she wants them to live and survive. Her doctrine seems to be strength has no empathy. The kids even said "we mark our kill then kill our marks"...or something like that.
Heath is in the movies with Rick.
Jadis was driving Heath's RV in episode 5. It was revealed by Kang that heath got captured by the junk people and traded via the A& B system after being separated by Tara.
They film mainly in Senoia, Ga. I have toured several key places in that town including Woodbury and I've been outside the walls of Alexandria. Also yes I think it the decision to not let outsiders in was definitely justified.
Absolutely phenomenal episode. It broke my heart, it solved the X-scars mystery, and it drove the story forward in the present. The way Joceline brainwashed those children into a cult-like mantra, to "mark their kill, kill their mark" and to keep fighting with no regard for their own lives--that was heart-wrenching and brutal.

I love how we've gotten to see the way Rick's family has changed and evolved since his "passing." Daryl was there for Michonne because he knew what it was to lose someone who meant the world to them. Daryl lost his brother, Michonne lost the man she loved. Judith as well, seeing her journey from an innocent child to this fiery, wise-beyond-her-years young girl who is as brave as any of her family but also stubbornly carrying Rick and Carl's wish into the future.
Remember guys, Negan used to work in a school, he knows a thing or two about how kids think
But that is never stated in the show, he could have a completely different backstory..

Wonderboy your right. This season is the best in a long time. I also think that's the point. To me to much of the other seasons focused to much on Rick/ Carl. One of the best things about this season for me is the abundance of characters that they have!
Just imagine if Angela Kang got the reins from Season five onwards. She could've made The Walking Dead something truly legendary.
Loved the episode. Very cleverly done. Totally understand now why michonne wouldn't trust anyone, Jocelyn was a friend that she had known before and knew well. How can you trust anyone after that!

I mean, (they aren't strangers) Nor was Jocelyn. Its someone Michonne knew years ago for sure, but as she stated, she was there for her when he mom died so i assume they were very close friends. I can see it being the reason she went that route.

I think the issue with the All out War story in the past seasons is that there was nobody to really root for because EVERYONE was in the wrong in that conflict. That's why Carl felt like everyone needed to hit the reset button and Michonne wrote up that Constitution. Remember that whole conflict started because Rick's group decided to be hired guns for Gregory everyone was becoming TOO Savage and it made it hard to really get behind people
yeah it was definitely dragged out too, it fits better in a comic book than on tv. both sides had their reasons and there was no one really to side with. the dialogue and writing was pretty bad, the storm trooper aim, and the saviors felt like meatbags for target practice most of the time, not to mention all the ammo wasted...

I think Michonne is justified because with Magna’s group they didn’t know them or what their motives were and Michonne gave them an alternative to go to Hiltop, showing that she’s not careless. As for the communities, theres still a piece of the puzzle missing because we don’t know what happened between Michonne and Maggie and that piece has to do with the Alexandria/Hiltop separation. With the Kingdom, she offered to allow to Kingdom to come live with them, should their community fall and they declined so that’s on them. She didn’t want her people needlessly traveling out putting themselves at risk and I see no problem with that.
I think she found out Maggie's plan to distract Rick and it got him "killed" so it became a problem between the two but maybe

I think the strength in branding someone is meant to be the strength in being able to do that and eliminate any fear that you may have. If you can brand someone you are strong enough to survive. It’s like an initiation ceremony. Do this to lose your innocence and therefore you can survive. She made the kids brand them and then they were forced to kill them. If you treat your enemy like animals, it’s easier to strip down your humanity and survive.

I know this episode is old AF but I have to say something. That calvin clip that pops up (Stupid!) kills me everytime i see it. The episode its from where it was played like 5 times had me rolling. I think this is the first time since then its been used and I was very happy it was. hahaha. You guys are awesome!

Don't forget that this is the second time someone from Michonne's past has betrayed her. Remember when the virus first broke out she had a baby boy. She said she left her son with his father and a friend but when she returned... her son was dead and they were walkers. So she cut off their arms and jaws and they were the zombies she was walking around with. This it was like reopening an old wound and reliving a fear from her past with a similar situation with someone she had absolute trust in.

Meeting up a person you knew in the past isn't that much of a stretch. For TV purposes, yeah it is common, in real life no. But remember Morales in the savior compound? They split ways season 1 and meet up again. Appearantly Morgan might meet Dwight in Fear of the walking dead, since Dwight is going to be in the show I hear rumours. So.... Jocelyn and Michonne is just a plot twist of fate. Trust someone that you knew despite the zombie apocalypse. Michonne wouldnt have trusted her if she didnt know her.
She was talking about recognizing the actress she's from Queen sugar yes we were supposed to recognize her if you know her from anything she's a great actress I wish she was on Longer except that was a crazy character for her I enjoyed every minute of it

She also didn’t want to let people in because she was questioning herself on whether she can tell the difference between a safe person and a not so safe person. Which was something she was always good at. The Governor, going to Alexandria etc
The only reacters that picked up on the fact that Daryl also did some kid killing!! I do have a small problem with Judith. Is she a wise beyond her years kid or not? The constantly switching back and forth is a bit off putting!
Well she is badass but she is still a 10 years old kid.
She's a Grimes, all of them run headlong into danger so that's a given but she is hardened, more than the kids from Hilltop and probably the Kingdom as well.
This episode seems made to expand Michonne's growth so disregard the inconsistencies.
@@sheerri How hardened can she be? She grew up behind the walls of Alexandria, a flourishing and thriving community with food and resources. She's never known anything else. She isn't 'out there' except for when she's sneaking off like Carl did.
@@Blasto2x She's hardened enough to not be messing around with walkers like they're toys or pets unlike the hilltop teenagers and she's being raised by Michonne, she understands the world in a way a lot of the other children who are still alive don't and she understands better than them what they're fighting for considering her father and Carl died fighting for the future.
I just wanted to say that the branding scene isn't stupid, it's horrific. There is a big difference between killing, which is an act that can be justified to yourself if you are convinced that the other represents a danger to you or the ones you love, and torture. Torture can't be justified, at least imo. To encourage the children to commit torture is to desensitize them to the pain and suffering of others. It kills their compassion and their ability to empathize. She was creating psychopaths. That woman deserved worse than she got, that's for sure. Although the group didn't remind me of The Whisperers, Jocelyn definitely reminded of Alpha. She basked in the same level of ultimate control and had a similar belief about those living in settled communities as living in a dead world. Daryl even foreshadowed The Whisperers.

TheLispMonkey same here!! Until this episode I missed him tho. It's probably because what Michonne went through and her suffering without Rick. Rick would be guilty as fuck if her ever found out that she went through this while pregnant with his child.

It doesn't matter that they were "children." A person comes at you with a weapon, you are within every moral right to defend yourself. But Michonne shuts herself off completely from the Hilltop and Kingdom because of this? I ran into a "bad" person therefore I'm shutting myself off from the world for years. Oh, i ran into a "good" person, therefore i'm going to welcome people into my community! oh god i'm so confused, do I kill or not kill? How do I judge people's character in the apocalypse? Wash, rinse, repeat. The show is a parody of itself. We need an endgame.
She said that she would welcome them into Alexandria, and has offered, but Ezekiel isn't willing to give up on the Kingdom yet. She just doesn't want the communities to be 'one big happy family' because Hilltop and Kingdom still take in strangers, something Michonne has been against for reasons we now know. It wasn't that she was openly hostile to them, she just wanted to be left alone and focus on her peoples welfare. The others are the ones salty about that.
@@Blasto2x i know that's my point. the fact that this is what made her into a hermit makes no sense whatsoever. the apocalypse has been going on for like 6 years now. Michonne has had to endure some crazy shit to survive. The reason why it is also frustrating is because this season dragged the reveal of the scars for wayyy too long. the character flip flopping is tiresome.
