I’m a little wary of spraying the back of the painting directly but I do use layers of sheets, mist the top, and steam iron to relax the cotton fibres. I built a flattening system to do pretty big paintings, with smooth boards, weights (laundry soap bottles filled with water 😂) on top and it works great.
Thanks I will try this out! I sometimes use a hot iron and iron it very very carefully, with a sheet of paper between the art and the iron. And it works pretty well! But I am not sure, if the heat will influence the pigments and colors over the longtime. Does anybody know?
It’s actually the other way round! I filmed the video, then about one or two months later, I needed to refill the beginning again. So you’re seeing my hair grow in reverse!

Thanks Oto. Works a charm!
Yessss! I do this all the time now (since editing this video, haha)! It works super well :)
I too use an iron. It works great.
Amazing video ❤️❤️🥰

It's not a good idea to apply heat to the paper and paints. My friend is a paper conservator and told me not to do this to my paintings.
Hey Oto, So it looks like Jacksons now stock GatorBoard.
If I had to stretch my paper, I wouldn’t paint as much. Thank you!
Did you have a haircut between the beginning and the end of this video? I like it!
