In 1998 I found a Walther P 38 at a gun show. It was in pristine condition, with all matching numbers and After bargaining for sometime the prize came home with me. It will definitely be passed down to my son. it is unique that it ejects the brass to the left side.
I purchased my P-38 in 1976, after I had turned 21, at a pawn shop in Longivew WA for $125. It was my first firearm purchase. I still take it to the range and discharge 100 rounds of 9mm a couple of times a year. By the way, Walther is pronounced by Germans as Valter. The "h" is silent. Otherwise, this was a great video.
own one that was cerakoted and primo wood grips had the hammer spring lightened up great gun PS I believe the reason it ejects to the left the man who built it was left handed
It was much cheaper to produce than the Luger, just as accurate and much more reliable. Those were the biggest factors. Also, same caliber and same capacity as the Luger.
I think that was common amongst Bullseye Pistol competitors, one hand grip/ other hand in pocket. Firing at 25 & 50 yard targets. Circa 1930-1960, maybe?
In 1980 I bought an Interarms p38. Came with a leather holster 2 magazines and the pistol in a big colorful box. All for 225.00 dollars. Needed cash and had to sell it, Nice pistols.

Interesting indeed. Which one was more appreciated as a trophy the P38 or Luger?
Was it at the neo-Nazi booth which are quite common at gun shows?
I like d/a, s/a, decocker, loaded chamber indicator. Been carrying it for seven years.
I just bought my first p38 tonight. I hope it isnt too bad. Got it as s surplus firearm.
Same gun used by Lupin in the old Japanese anime titled Lupin the Third

That's crazy! I just brought home a numbers matching one from a Pawn Shop in Vancouver Wa. 😂
Never get the same respect as the Luger, but it’s more deserving of respect for being a better handgun.
The Luger was more reliable
@@sirnoname6943No, it wasn't. P-38 was more reliable.

Bought my P.38, my first handgun, in 1981 - an AC41. Still in the family 42 years later, now owned by my eldest. Excellent design.

Wasn’t this guy in car driver years ago?
Walther P38 is very nice pistol and much power.
I can’t believe they made a video on the P38 without mentioning U.N.C.L.E or Megatron.
🤩Wow , The U.N.C.L.E. organization ( ;D) had this gun but modified tactical (1960s).
I like the part where he says “now to give a more historically accurate test🔯🔫”
One hand in your pocket, that’s old school.

@@tomahawk1911 it was my grandfather was a 3 time national champion back in fifties that’s how I know.
Fired with it and fell in love before the bullet hit the target.

Prvi vojni pištolj DA dejstva i sa polugom za spuštanje proza za svoje vreme veoma moderan
DA/SA obarač, prvi hitac je dvostruka akcija, svaki sledeći je jednostruka.
I have my P38 and the original war prize paperwork.. great sidearm..
Loved seeing the Ordnance Bomb on your fatigue cover. and the pistols pretty cool too. ^~^
I remember this gun from Deadliest Warrior.
I always wonder if they ever tried to just scale up the PPK into duty pistol size
Believe they did, but the 9mm was too much for a blowback design handgun.
@@blatherskite9601Yeah that’s true I hadn’t thought of that
👍👍
Isn't this the longest serving pistol in any military? They were using this well into the 60's.
No, the 1911 is the longest serving pistol. From 1911 until 1986 for the majority of the U.S. military and into the 2000s for Special Forces.
walther p 38 👑
Luger po 08 👎
Either that fellow doesn’t have much strength in his arms or he is just exaggerating the recoil?
The weight in the P.38 is way back at the grip end, so you get quite a bit of muzzle flip.
