Can't believe we will miss the first one we have access to! Headed to Vilnius and we will be on a food tour at that time...but at least we'll be eating 😋 Have a great chat! If we can sneak a watch, we will 😁
I’m Aussie and I love Cherry Ripes!!! Double dipped is the best. If you’re still in Australia I recommend Farmer’s Union Iced Coffee and Fruchocs (South Australian classics).
You guys need to stop by a country town bakery on your roadtrip! Having a pie for lunch and then a lamington as a sweet cake is such a classic Australian thing. Also you’ll find that every bakery says they are the best bakery in Australia.
I'm surprised you didn't recognise the Violet Crumble as it is the Australian version of the UK candy called Crunchie which I'm sure you have had when over here.
If you are planning to eat potato chips, they have to be salt & vinegar flavour. Not sure if it's common in other countries but its like one of the main flavours here. A great Australian treat is a weis bar. You'll find them in the ice cream freezer at a lot of convenience stores and petrol stations. Mango and Cream is the best flavour. That said, the Queensland Tropical Fruito flavour is an iconic must try.
It’s sometimes called Bonfire Toffee in the UK also Honeycomb or Hokey Pokey. There’s a bar in the UK called Crunchie which is identical, it even has a purple wrapper.
Western Australia is the best place in Australia to visit. I try and go there whenever I can. It's a sunny, relaxing, laid-back, and friendly place, with the best beaches, food, hotels, events and music! 😎
When I was a kid, I’d save up all the fantale wrappers (from the whole year) and cover my school book with it. I also did this with minty wrappers - another great Australian treat!
oh my god guy how can you not like the cherry ripe. its a classic. you are hilarious. as an aussie you make me laugh so much. all these are so common to us and to see you both try them is just awesome
We discovered Tim Tams while on vacation in Aussieland. Luv luv luv them. Just stumbled on them at the store. What a nice surprise we had. Saw them at Costco at Christmas..
For everyone commenting about crunchie bars, we also have them, they just have a slightly different tasting honeycomb to violet. Shapes you gotta go BBQ!! I loved burger rings when I was a kid, twisties and cheezles were also pretty good. Solo was also a fave drink - if you're in a pub and want a soft drink ask for a 'pub squash' or 'lemon squash' and it's basically the same. And yeah.... Tim tam slam like everyone says - needs a hot drink and shove it into your face!
Yeah, slightly different honeycomb (Crunchie has half chewy and half crunchy texture inside). And one is Nestle chocolate and the other Cadbury chocolate. And yet the Violet Crumble is slightly older than the Crunchie!
I’m from Australia, but in Melbourne 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 my favourite childhood smack were the cheezels, Tim tams and those fantales are the best. Enjoy Australia guys, welcome 💗
I grew up with Vovos in Ireland but they are called Mikado. You're supposed to scrape the two rows of marshmallow with your teeth, then scrape the jam, then eat the biscuit. At least in Ireland... 😀
The Aussie Vovo's are fondant or icing not marshmallow. I did swear for years that they had four soft marshmallow mounds on them (I remember this vividly as I'd pull them off one by one as a kid) but that was a different brand biscuit.
First Tim Tams I had was on Bali last year in a co-working space. Met an Australian girl there who brought them from AU. Yummie! Though mine got lost in my coffee when I´ve tried to drink through them :D
In NZ, we do Tim Tam Slams with coffee, you have to slurp up the coffee using the Tim tam straw, then slam it into your mouth real quick or it’ll melt and slop everywhere!! Sooo good
I would love the Cherry Ripe if they used marzipan instead of coconut. Back in Germany, I tried Niederegger's cherry marzipan covered in dark chocolate and I absolutely loved it.
I was eating cheese & bacon shapes (my fave) whilst watching this. Violet crumble & cherry ripes are a favourite of mine along with fry's turkish delight (you probably wouldn't like it). I highly recommend getting DARE iced coffee for road trips, do not bother getting barista brothers iced coffee as it is crap. Get into cadburys marvellous chocolate bar the one with popping candy, jelly & such in it, it's one of the best. Also I've heard from other tourists that kettle chips are something you must try. Welcome to Australia, enjoy the warmth of the North 🚙🌞
Things you gotta try in Australia (and specifically South Australia if you come down here): - Bunnings snag ($2 sausage-in-bread that charities run outside of Bunning's Warehouse stores) - Democracy sausage (if you're here during the election on the 18th of May we also have a tradition of charity snags out the front of polling booths) - A pub chicken parmy (chicken schnitzel parmigiana, best served on cheap Wednesdays at your local for $10) - A Ned Kelly pie (beef mince pie with a whole egg cracked on top, topped with bacon and cheese - not sure if they have these outside of SA) - Villies/Balfours meat pie/square pie/footy pie (best served overpriced at a game of Footy (Aussie Rules Football)) - Lamingtons and Vanilla Slices - A can of VB (Victoria Bitter) or Carlton Draft beer - Rent a airbnb with a Hill's Hoist (type of clothes line), peg a Goon Sack (cheap wine in a bag) to it, drink out of it. The best of the working class/upper-middle bogan (kind like redneck/hillbilly?) world
Guys, you just missed the Sydney Easter Show where you can get an Aussie classic from a showbag - the Bertie Beetle! Its a chocolate and honeycomb combination which was made with the leftover honeycomb from Violet Crumbles! Otherwise, great choices 👌
Oh my gosh my son would LOVE that lemon drink lol! We're actually starting our full time travel journey with our toddler in less than a month, and will be documenting it all on our channel. We can't wait to visit Australia!!
There is another Oz biscuit (cookie) icon that is almost as popular as the Tim Tam. You should try a Mint Slice, dark chocolate over peppermint icing on a biscuit .... classic !!
Almost every TH-cam channel of travellers does videos like this, like, eating a bunch of snacks…but I do NOT remember seeing you guys ever do this before. What is it about Australia that inspired this? You picked a good selection though! Twisties are my faves. I'm oddly attracted to Cherry Ripes despite the fact that I also don't like coconut or cherry so I cannot explain why I like them. I love all of these things except Iced Vovo's. They're grannie biscuits. Tim Tam's rock - try them with hot tea or coffee.
Your channel really inspires me! I have recently restarted my channel and I like to watch your videos to learn new ways of filming and editing.. thank you so much for inspiring me! I am a fan :)
Wow! You had me at Tim Tam Slam. Going to Amazon as soon as this is done. Love how you really had fun trying different snacks. Look forward to your road trip.
Gotta try Vegemite! Eat it with butter on toast, prepare you’re tastebuds for the salty flavor. If you think it’s going to be sweet, you’ll hate it as soon as you try it! Tim tam slam with a hot drink is also definitely the way to go.
Fantales are the best and are a must for an Aussie road trip. "Minties" are the other road trip essentials. Such fun to watch you try our snacks. Make sure you have some Vegemite and a meat pie and a lamington from a bakery.
Tim Tams are definitely a fave around here, especially with slamming them. I like the double coated ones the most. Other snacks I would recommend trying are lamingtons, maltesers and Smiths brand chips. There are heaps of flavours and they are pretty tasty. Good for a movie or travel snack. Welcome to Australia! I hope you guys have a blast!
Cherry ripe is like an English Bounty bar with added cherry, Violet crumble is like a English Crunchie bar which is just honeycomb covered in chocolate.
Welcome to Oz friends! As a fellow Aussie I can confirm that I detest cherry ripes too so you aren’t alone! 💕 Enjoy your time, can’t wait for you to explore our great country!
The shapes crackers sound like our chicken in a biscuit crackers in us. Enjoyed the vid especially the slamming the tim tam when Allison has to climb over the glass to slam it.
Cherry ripes divide Australia - you either love them or hate them. I personally think theyre delicious! I'm disappointed you didn't get the Vegemite and cheese flavour shapes, they're great. Barbeque flavoured shapes are the second best flavour.
You should try clinkers (need to guess the colour when you have one) also pods. Don’t forget vegemite on toast! Or go to a bakery and get a cheesymite scroll! Also the Tim Tams with a hot drink is the way to do it 👍🏼😍
This made me really want a solo! “Low on fizz so you can slam it down fast” Tim tam slams work best with a hot coffee :) double coat are my fav timtam I find Americans reactions to honeycomb so funny! I’m surprised you really have no equivalent! It’s toothachingly good. I think you should try Twix, pods, summer rolls or nougat honey log, peppermint crisp, chomp, wagon wheels, burger rings, dunkaroos, fruit tingles, lcms, rollups, brown creaming soda. You should try and find an old timey candy store and try some thins there too. If you make it to Melbourne the Yarra valley has amazing wineries, a chocolaterie, an animal sanctuary and beautiful views at places like sky high and mt Donna buang. Plenty of great coffee in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne too :)
I'm from europe. My friend used to live in Australia and once in a while they go back for Holidays. When she comes back, she sometimes brings TimTams... Guess at who's place I'll be, eating what! Sadly, I couldn't eat any in a while now xD. But in general I sometimes envy her childhood, because she has the coolest stories from there (even though we didn't talk whole lot about it) and the mentality of the people seems so great. "Australia" is the thing that feels so familiar because of her... But I've never actually been there. It's weird. Wanna go there one day. (Also she only told me about drinking hot chocolate through TimTams, milk is new for me)
Caramello Koala's and Cherry Ripe's are a great guilty snack. Tim Tams are the BEST with coffee! Great Vlog of our snacks. Are you doing a Australian Fish & Chips comparison video? If so, try a Chiko Roll! ...And ask for chicken salt on your chips! Enjoy OZ! :-)
ALL my favourite foods in one video and yep - I LURVE a Cherry Ripe!!!! Make sure you get to try some FruChocs! Also, get some YoYo biscuits and make a sandwich with real butter between them :) The Tim Tams really are the best. Welcome to Australia xx
*VIOLET CRUMBLE!!! MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE!!!* And yes, they are just a large piece of chocolate-covered honeycomb candy, and they are DELICIOUS!!! I have to really hunt to find them in the US. I only know of ONE place in California where they are _occasionally_ available. Happily, this place is only five miles from my house! I would think those chicken Shapes crackers would be almost the same thing as Nabisco's Chicken in a Biscuit crackers, just harder and lower fat content. They are sold everywhere in the US. But it doesn't sound like you guys know what Chicken in a Biscuit crackers are. They were my favorites when I was a little kid. And now I have to make it my life's mission to find TimTams! I shall look at Amazon because I know I can find Japanese Kit-Kats at Amazon, so it's probably about my only hope for TimTams.
Great video guys looking forward to this Australian adventure. Those tim tams look similiar to penguins here in the uk so gonna try those with milk looks yummy :)
Side note-would the Tim Tam Slam Work as well with coffee as it does with milk? I’ve never had a Tim Tam so, I kinda have no idea what I’m talking about, lol.

TIM TAMS 😁😋 Great content as always! If you go to the Gold Coast, visit Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary 👍
Can't believe we will miss the first one we have access to! Headed to Vilnius and we will be on a food tour at that time...but at least we'll be eating 😋 Have a great chat! If we can sneak a watch, we will 😁
You guys should try jumpy's chip they are one of my favorite snack
Cherry ripe 😍
Shapes have different flavours and each flavour is a different shape. 😊
I’m Aussie and I love Cherry Ripes!!! Double dipped is the best. If you’re still in Australia I recommend Farmer’s Union Iced Coffee and Fruchocs (South Australian classics).
Katrina that is the BEST iced coffee! But Oak is the best chocolate milk 😉
The double dipped Cherry Ripes are so damn good. They’re my go to cherry ripes.
@@SianMarieDavies i love the dark choc cherry ripes too, but original are best.
Im Aussie & I Love Cherry Ripes. Original & Double Dipped chocolate. 🍒 🍫
The Cherry Ripe Chocolate Ganache is delicious but limited edition and I haven't seen it in years.
You guys need to stop by a country town bakery on your roadtrip!
Having a pie for lunch and then a lamington as a sweet cake is such a classic Australian thing.
Also you’ll find that every bakery says they are the best bakery in Australia.
yes but just don't tell Eric that lamingtons have coconut on them :)
Dont forget the good old "snot block" or Vanilla Slice at your bakery stops in Oz.
Lamington has too much coconut on it.
Try the Tim Tam slam with a hot drink 😍😍😍
and that hot drink should be hot chocolate
Or coffee!!
But they will need to slam it...or wear it!!
It should be a hot Milo.
Hot milo Tim tam slam. I love snickers chocolate bar and Polly waffle
I'm surprised you didn't recognise the Violet Crumble as it is the Australian version of the UK candy called Crunchie which I'm sure you have had when over here.
Richard Laundon we have crunchie here in Australia, violet crumble is different
Crunchie is much better I've tried both.
Both crunchie and violet crumble are honeycomb but violet crumbles are creamier, crunchie is stickier
And all these years I thought they were the same :O I'll have to try and find one now lol
Totally different tastes!
If you are planning to eat potato chips, they have to be salt & vinegar flavour. Not sure if it's common in other countries but its like one of the main flavours here. I live in Sydney and we get Fruito Weis bars here too! My fave is the mango and macadamia one!
"It's got a lot of sugar in it."
"Don't look at that." 😄
😂😂😂😂😂
"It tastes like a campfire" best Alison quote ever! :D
They're true renaissance travelvloggers
It’s sometimes called Bonfire Toffee in the UK also Honeycomb or Hokey Pokey. There’s a bar in the UK called Crunchie which is identical, it even has a purple wrapper.
Crunchies have gold wrappers, unless there's a new one
Agreed. I laughed out loud!
I would watch the two of you eat anything -you are so truthful about how you feel about products that you try.
Great show guys hope you keep this thing with snacks and drinks up I like to see different stuff from around the world.
Australia will conquer the world - with TimTams!
You guys need to do these types of videos in all of the countries. It would be interesting to see all of the favorite snacks per country.
Hey UK people, Cadbury is probably the biggest chocolate brand in Australia and NZ, it's not just a UK thing
Black forest tim tams are next level
Those were supposed to be limited edition :( I can't find them anywhere!
I have always loved Cherry Ripe bars. I grew up on the South East coast of Australia and they are still my go to indulgence
Can't believe people exist who don't love cherry ripes 😱
Western Australia is the best place in Australia to visit. I try and go there whenever I can. It's a sunny, relaxing, laid-back, and friendly place, with the best beaches, food, hotels, events and music! 😎
Anzac biscuits are always a fave of mine. Get them at any grocery store here in oz in the bakery section.
Oh I love cherry ripes, the cherry and coconut with the dark chocolate is a match made in heaven.
When I was a kid, I’d save up all the fantale wrappers (from the whole year) and cover my school book with it. I also did this with minty wrappers - another great Australian treat!

One of my favorite videos that shows your funny personalities!!! love it!! So many funny moments!!
I’m from Australia, but in Melbourne 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 my favourite childhood smack were the cheezels, Tim tams and those fantales are the best. Enjoy Australia guys, welcome 💗
Also whilst you guys are here you should make fairy bread (white bread, butter/ margarine/ sprinkles)
Butter not Margarine and not sprinkles, got to be hundreds and thousands for OG approval ;)
Fresh crusty bread (or toast), real butter and a thin spread of vegemite... best Aussie snack ever!
That was such a fun video guys 😀 Looking forward to seeing what Australia has to offer ❤️
Yaaayyy another video.. 💖💖💖💖 hoping you guys are having fun in Australia 💕💕💖❤💯
Cherry Ripes and Violet Crumbles are my favorite!! I'm an Aussie living in the US, and I miss both of them so much.

You have to rip the fantales wrappers to try and make the longest strip while you are eating them. It's required by law lol
Hez_am_i We used to do that with Minties wrappers at Kitchen Teas and Tupperware parties!!
Nah! That was done with Mintie wrappers not fantales!
An Aussie here!! Love every single one of them! Great video.
You two are my favorite travelers. You both are so cute together. Allison you are beautiful. Hugs.
I love Violet Crumble and Cherry Ripe. They grow on you and they are so delicious. I was in Sydney 6 weeks ago. Enjoy your trip.
Cherry Ripe is Aus oldest chocolate bar, close to 100 years old. They're not changing it anytime soon!
I've actually bought the violet crumble at a Ross store here in the USA! Ur right, the texture resembled some type of insulation lol😂
I was eating cheese & bacon shapes (my fave) whilst watching this. Violet crumble & cherry ripes are a favourite of mine along with fry's turkish delight (you probably wouldn't like it). I highly recommend getting DARE iced coffee for road trips, do not bother getting barista brothers iced coffee as it is crap. cherry ripe is always the last one left in the chocolate fundraiser box, good for me because i love them!
I didn't realise solo was an Australian thing, until I went to the states and tried ordering one!
And I love cherry ripes!
Have the most amazing time in Australia, enjoy the weather and beaches
You have to slam the Tim tam in a coffee for the yummiest experience.
Enjoy Australia, its great to have you here!
"It tastes like a campfire!" 🔥 This is one of our favorite videos of yours and you didn't go anywhere, haha! We really enjoyed it! 😂😂
We had Shapes when I lived in NZ and I loved the Pizza flavor
The violet crumble looks just like our Cadbury Crunchie here in the UK.😊
Yeah they are similar...we have Crunchies here too.
Violet Crumbles are much more dense and "shattery"
Crunchie is actually sponge toffee... VC is actual honeycomb.
@@SchwarzeWitwe2 It is the same thing. They are both honeycomb toffee.
Things you gotta try in Australia (and specifically South Australia if you come down here):
- Bunnings snag ($2 sausage-in-bread that charities run outside of Bunning's Warehouse stores)
- Democracy sausage (if you're here during the election on the 18th of May we also have a tradition of charity snags out the front of polling booths)
- A pub chicken parmy (chicken schnitzel parmigiana, best served on cheap Wednesdays at your local for $10)
- A Ned Kelly pie (beef mince pie with a whole egg cracked on top, topped with bacon and cheese - not sure if they have these outside of SA)
- Villies/Balfours meat pie/square pie/footy pie (best served overpriced at a game of Footy (Aussie Rules Football))
- Lamingtons and Vanilla Slices
- A can of VB (Victoria Bitter) or Carlton Draft beer
- Rent a airbnb with a Hill's Hoist (type of clothes line), peg a Goon Sack (cheap wine in a bag) to it, drink out of it.
You should try a Mint Slice, dark chocolate over peppermint icing on a biscuit .... classic !!
Welcome to Australia!! And this was hilarious!! Make sure you try the “original barbecue” shapes.
It's probably the Old Gold Dark Chocolate coating the Cherry Ripe. You can get that dark chocolate in a block to test it!
Chicken Twisties, Cheese and Bacon Balls and banana lollies are great!!!
Cherry Ripe 🍒 is da bomb!! Loved watching you guys try everything, so many LOLs!
It’s the texture of the cookie after you eat it!
Welcome to Australia guys 🍺🍕🌞🇦🇺😎... love your vids
Tim Tam is sold all over the world! In Canadian grocery stores they sell out quick.
You can get Tim Tams at any Kroger store in the US
I loved Chicken Twisties and Burger Rings when I in Australia!
Minties are a Dentists pay out! Loads of fillings created with those chewy minty chews!
Bring back good memories
Tim Tams are definitely a fave around here, especially with slamming them. I like the double coated ones the most. Other snacks I would recommend trying are lamingtons, maltesers and Smiths brand chips. There are heaps of flavours and they are pretty tasty. Good for a movie or travel snack.
Welcome to Australia! I hope you guys have a blast!
I miss Australia and Tim Tams so much!!!
Tim tams are awesome😁
Cherry ripe is like an English Bounty bar with added cherry, Violet crumble is like a English Crunchie bar which is just honeycomb covered in chocolate.
You hit a few of our faves...Cheezels and Tim Tams, but our kids love Wagon Wheels and Caramel Koalas and Freddo Frogs and our faves are Kingston’s!
Welcome to Oz friends! As a fellow Aussie I can confirm that I detest cherry ripes too so you aren’t alone! 💕 Enjoy your time, can’t wait for you to explore our great country!
All the more for me! Woohoo! Lol
Yeah mate took me 40 years to "like" cherry ripe
Next time you try some biscuits aka cookies...... try the Arnotts “Kingston’s” ...... favorite all time
You two are the cutest, loved this video!
That Violet thing is a Cadbury's Crunchie in disguise LOL
The violet crumble is basically a crunchie bar - I'm from London and crunchie's are really popular in england
We also have Cadbury Crunchies in Aus but the Violet Crumble is older.
Tim Tams are my favorite. Sooo good.
Double Coat Tim Tams are the best!!!!!
Have a great time in OZ guys
The shapes crackers sound like our chicken in a biscuit crackers in us. Enjoyed the vid especially the slamming the tim tam when Allison has to climb over the glass to slam it.
Cherry ripes divide Australia - you either love them or hate them. I personally think theyre delicious! I'm disappointed you didn't get the Vegemite and cheese flavour shapes, they're great. Barbeque flavoured shapes are the second best flavour.
Pizza, BBQ, Vegemite & Cheese then savoury Shapes!
I love Solo, its refreshing. Twisties was very popular in my country, Malaysia.
Excited you guys are finally in the land of oz! Pizza shapes are definitely the best flavour!
You should try clinkers (need to guess the colour when you have one) also pods. Don’t forget vegemite on toast! Or go to a bakery and get a cheesymite scroll! Also the Tim Tams with a hot drink is the way to do it 👍🏼😍
Tastes like a camp fire 😂😂 looks like so much fun to try all this though! I’ve heard a lot about Tim tams, didn’t know about the slam!
This made me really want a solo! “Low on fizz so you can slam it down fast”
Tim tam slams work best with a hot coffee :) double coat are my fav timtam
I find Americans reactions to honeycomb so funny!
I watch the commercials all the way through....and I was blessed with an HEB commercial :)
I'm from europe. My friend used to live in Australia and once in a while they go back for Holidays. When she comes back, she sometimes brings TimTams... Guess at who's place I'll be, eating what! Enjoy OZ! :-)
Chicken crimpy shapes have been my favourite since I was a kid 😊 and cherry ripes are the best haha! great video guys!
The Violet crumble looks like a UK Crunchie.
We also have Crunchies in Aus
ALL my favourite foods in one video and yep - I LURVE a Cherry Ripe!!!! Make sure you get to try some FruChocs! Also, get some YoYo biscuits and make a sandwich with real butter between them :) The Tim Tams really are the best. Welcome to Australia xx
FruChocs are from South Aus and aren't sold everywhere. I live in Sydney and have found them ONCE, I have to order them online :(
Where is the Vegemite?
That ain’t a snack that’s a toast topping
Allens lollies. Red frogs and teeth are the best!
*VIOLET CRUMBLE!!! MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE!!!* And yes, they are just a large piece of chocolate-covered honeycomb candy, and they are DELICIOUS!!! I have to really hunt to find them in the US. In the US the generic name for Violet Crumble type candy is called "seafoam". You can find it without the chocolate too
You have an excellent selection of Aussie snacks there.
Cherry ripe is the best! You should try vegemite while you’re in Oz. Thanks for sharing guys!
Excited to see you in Australia! Make sure you try a Golden Gaytime icecream and pizza shapes!!
I second the golden gaytime! They're my favourite icecream. Or the peanut butter icecream from Coles!
Ditto - Can't have a gaytime on your own. :-)
Shelley Reck Any Aussies out there remember Triple Treats? Yummmmmm! 😋😋
Maltesers are my favourite! And try the Connoisseur ice cream specifically the Emperor Nero flavour 👍👍👍👍
Very fun. Can't wait to do the same in 20 days!!

Side note-would the Tim Tam Slam Work as well with coffee as it does with milk? I’ve never had a Tim Tam so, I kinda have no idea what I’m talking about, lol.
@@christinaauer1563 Hot coffee is the preferred way to 'slam' a Tim-Tam... The biscuit implodes... :)
YUM! ❤️
